It was a great neighborhood store and General, meaning you could get a variety of goods. The new Indian owner has changed it into basically a liquor store. Prices are terrible. The outside of the store is always littered, dirty. Try planting flowers in the pots instead of garbage. Stay away.

Have been stopping here for a few years. They have a decent selection of basic kitchen staples. If you need milk. Butter, shampoo... It's a basic convenience store really. Staff has been nice and friendly for the most part.

I love the idea of the General Store. I live in the neighborhood and am somewhat of a dinosaur anyway so having a mom-and-pop store within walking distance appeals to me in a romantic/nostalgic kind of way. It conjures up visions of Mayberry, North Carolina in my mind. I get the feeling that I may run into Otis or Floyd on my way up there. Of course, one of the previous comments had a point. There has been a trend of removing useful items you may need in a hurry and replacing them with more alcohol and candy. Remember, Mayberry was in a dry County! lol.That notwithstanding, The Ladies who work there - all days, all shifts - are courteous, kind, helpful, and make you feel good when they recognize you and greet you as you walk in. I think they all deserve a raise!I pray there always be small Neiborhood establishments like this SOMEWHERE in America. We need more personal, face to face, friendly interactions in our lives in my humble opinion. Not enough of that these days. ~ GDH

They don’t have ANY PRICES on most of what they sell I just realized. When asked, Even the person ringing me up was also confused why! What kind of way to do business is that? Also this USED to be a store that had everything! Now it’s ALL alcohol and candy! Way to bring down the neighborhood. What next, a Dollar General store in the building behind it? New owner is all about ruining this neighborhood for profit! He is also rude, talking on his phone rather than to the person he’s ringing up! I will not be back! Nick must be rolling over in his grave! And there’s no Ralph so quit using the old owners names!!! Change it to little India dollar general!
