Purrfect cat Is a very judgy place. Only Purrfect Fit if They feel you are. trying to Adapt a cat for a therapy cat So to be trained on a harness. What's told Cats dont belong outside Predators can hurt them. A cat is a predator. So even though you think you're a perfect home to takea cat home and Fell in love With one , you're not. They do not feel that way. Don't recommend going here. If they decline your application, they will not call you and will not talk to you either In person It's rude not good practice for business.

After looking at many different cat shelters in our area we finally settled on Purrfect Cat Rescue. We walked in late evening on a Thursday and met Chewy, she was absolutely welcoming and sweet despite it being almost closing time. She gave me and my kids (4&8) a tour and let us meet all the kittens. She was especially patient with my boys. After going through the application process (took about 2 days). We were able to take our two new fur babies home. I loved that all the cats are free roaming (separated by age/health) and how caring all the volunteers are. We adopted kitten brothers, Joey and Levi.Chewy was absolutely wonderful and provided us with a great adoption experience.

Was trying to adopt boots and Blacky. Was told no because I wanted to make the cats therapy Cats which means they would have to go outside supervised. And this place doesn't allow any cats to go Outside for any reason does that mean the vet. Also, my cats and animals are trained to go out on a leash at all times To reduce accidents Of animals escaping. Didn't feel like they were trying to adopt out their cats. To be totally honest also Kind of a hoarding situation. And last thing to add had to go there in person. Because they wouldn't give me a call back which is ridiculous.

We'd like thank Purrfect Cat Rescue for rejecting our application and not allowing us to adopt a cat. Apparently all it took was a comment saying that we would be willing to adopt a declawed older cat if they had one. It was not a requirement on our part; simply one thought of many. Anyway, we found a cat there that we thought would be perfect for us (a Senior retired couple) and filled out the adoption application. After 6 Days of waiting to approved we were finally told that "the board" had rejected us because of concerns about our attitude concerning claws. I must mention that we had told them that claws were not an issue and were aware of their claw trimming service should scratching become an issue. All of our previous cats have had claws and there was never any problem. Anyway, after we were found not to be suitable adoptive "parents" we then went to Animal House Shelter in Huntley where we had a wonderful experience. The folks there were so friendly and helpful, seeming to know the history of every cat they had. The cats all seemed well cared for and happy. A beautiful little four year old tabby called Liberty became very friendly and affectionate with us. You could say she chose us. We filled out the adoption papers and were approved within an hour. We brought Liberty home and she adapted to our home almost instantly. She is affectionate, eats well and is a part of the family. We are grateful to Animal House and their great team there. Everyone was terrific! So thank you for rejecting us Purrfect Cat Rescue! In the long run it was the best thing that could have happened to us. We now have wonderful little furry friend! Just not from your organization.-Doug & Nancy (and Liberty)

The cats and kittens here are just darling. Overall, the location is small but very well kept with several cat accessories. The animals seem comfortable. I just need to get this review off my chest since it is quite literally keeping me up tonight. Now, I would like to start by sharing this review honestly and openly towards my experience with staff. This 1 star rating is a reflection of the services rendered by the humans/staff (mainly the owner) at this rescue yesterday evening. They made my family and I feel as though we were “inadequate” or perhaps “incompetent enough” to adopt. Let me explain why:I stopped in with my 3 children. I have 2 toddlers and a pre-teen. To be honest, I’ve never seen my toddlers behave so well in a social setting. They must have been in a trance with this mini kitty wonderland. The young woman who assisted us upon entering automatically assumed or categorized us as renters.. nothing wrong with renting but we are, in fact, home owners. This was a bit disheartening since I feel we may have been subjected to some type of discrimination. Regardless, we proceeded with meeting 2 kittens, Sox and Blackie.Secondly, while interacting with the two kittens, we met the owner. She asked several questions and made unnecessary remarks towards our living situation. I mentioned that my domestic partner had finally agreed to allowing pets in the home, which is great for us but somehow still a concern. I suppose she may have been hyper-fixated on the way I stressed how he “finally” gave in, maybe? She also had a problem with having a kitty door installed, which was just a suggestion. I brought this up because our home has a garage and fully finished basement connected, so the cats would be able to use the kitty door for easy access to the two areas.Third, she was against bathing. Call me crazy but I have had all my pets bathed at least once in their lifetime. Whether they were indoor or outdoor, feline or canine, thankfully I have never had a problem. She had asked (in a rather condescending way) if we knew which animal is the cleanest as far as pets go. She said they’re birds. Cats are third. I must say, her mannerisms and demeanor were so off-putting at this point, it truly made me uneasy, especially with my children present. I paused for a moment, trying to find the words to respond to this level of patronization. Very briefly I filled the rest of our application out, rounded up my kids and left with a heavy heart.I truly wish the best for these little dears but my goodness this staff was not so pleasant. I wouldn’t be surprised if our application is denied simply due to this review, but we will remain honest and are hopeful. My children fell in love with the kittens. We look forward to adding both Sox and Blackie (we plan on re-naming her Shadow) to our loving home.

I first want to say, the cats seemed well loved and treated and I hope this center is successful in placing all these sweet kitties in loving homes. As for my review, here goes:If you want to feel looked down on and judged for all your life's decisions, this is a good place to go. My 3 kids, age 13-18, are here in town while on Fall break from school in AZ. They have wanted to get a cat for a long time. We haven't had a household cat for a long time, and thought it would be nice to go look at some cats and get acquainted with them. We are moving to AZ in 2 weeks, so I was aware that it would probably not be the best choice to adopt a cat before moving, but thought it would be nice to look anyway. When we entered the rescue center, we were greeted and I explained our situation just as I did here. That's when the patronizing began. We immediately got the judgmental glare, the condescending head nod and smile while asking us questions like we were 2nd graders being scolded for poor choices..."you really think it's a good idea to get a cat 2 weeks before moving and putting it through that kind of trauma?" I smiled kindly back and said we are more interested in just getting acquainted with some cats and I understand that it's not a good time to adopt. At this point, if they would have told us that they are only interested in giving a tour or showing the cats to only people who are approved to adopt at that time, we would have understood, I would have said thank you anyway and we'd be on our way. Instead, we were handed off to a volunteer and I will she was very sweet and kind. However, it was made very clear we were unwelcome by the other staff talking loudly about us to other staff, and then when we were met in the hallway by the owner. Again, we were made to feel like scum of the earth. When our kind volunteer explained where she was taking us, the manager said "oh... are you the ones that are moving *condescending nod and smile*...in twooooo weeks?" I took a breath, smiled genuinely and said yes, that's us, and as I said, I understand it would not be a good time to adopt so we thought it would be nice to just look at and love on the cats. I then got the lecture about how traumatizing it would be for them to be placed with us, and told I would absolutely be denied an application. Which I would understand her need to deny me...if I was even going to put in an application! Look, I understood the explanation from the beginning. I don't understand the need to belittle and judge people. I am over emotional I admit. But I don't think I should have had to hold back tears and feel questioned about my life's choices because I brought my family to look at some kitties and, I don't know, maybe give them a little love and attention? Again, I understand their need to find the right people for the right cats. But maybe don't look down and judge others so much? Wish you the best though. ?

One of the best places to go around here. Helping these cats into new homes, playing with them, showing comfort, and cleaning for them makes such a difference in their lives. All these kitties need is some love and comfort to hopefully find a home one day. I haven't had a single regret coming here these are some truly sweet cats to hang out with and help out.

Deb is very friendly and knowledgeable. She's doing a great work helping these cats and placing them in loving homes. You can also volunteer here, which will be helpful to the cats and company and therapeutic for you.

My cats had been rejected by two homes before bc they are shy and skittish. Purrfect rescue encouraged me to be patient with them as they needed extra love and a year later they are little snugglebugs. They gave great advice and support and the cats there were loved. The volunteer had tears in her eyes as I left with my girls-I could tell they had a relationship with each kitty they have.

From the moment we stepped through the door we could tell this place was already an amazing cat rescue shelter. They have an open roam policy for the adult cats and kittens are separated in different rooms. This is hands down one of my wife and I’s favorite shelters now. From interacting with the volunteers and staff at Purrfect Cat Rescue, you can tell these people are here for the cats and are not here for profits. Not a single staff here are compensated for their time and ALL the cats are very well cared for and are up to date on their shots/vet checkups. The staff also go into detail when vetting someone who are trying to adopt to make sure the kitties go home to a safe and loving environment! Just look at how happy these cats are in their care and you will know how well this shelter is put together! We love our two new boys, Finn and Leon! (Our boys came from a litter of 4. Wish we could have taken them all home!)

They take such wonderful care of all kitties! Volunteer shifts are abundant and they have other ways to contribute if your schedule does not work for in-person volunteering. They really care for the health and wellbeing of all cats and fight with and for them when needed.

They have an amazing shelter to take care of all the beautiful cats. I love there are no cages, it is super clean, organized and safe. There is a ton of room for all the cats to roam and climb and interact with eachother.
