I cannot put into words the esteem with which I hold Dr. Lesser and his office. The Doctor is an extraordinarily good man who runs a professional and efficient office. I've never had an encounter with a member of Dr. Lesser's staff that hasn't been, at an absolute minimum, pleasant. Wait times in his reception area are always minimal and, like any good professional, Dr. Lesser tells his patients the truth, not necessarily what they might want to hear. My life would be exponentially less distressing if every professional I encountered was as professional as Dr. Lesser.

While I don't go often unless a serious issue or annual physical, I've been a patient here for years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I appreciate the direct and frank way Dr. Lesser and I can speak to one another. Sometimes in a very humorous, epitaph-filled way. He and his staff really listen to me, don't rush me, and make it as pleasant and hassle-free as possible. He's older like me so he "gets" a guy. But, I took my fiancee to see him and they hit it off too. Seriously, how many couples do that and afterwards feel like it was fun? While he is my doctor, I feel like he's a friend and trusted confidant. He doesn't judge and doesn't force. That's the kind of doctor for me.

Family Medicine for McHenry County is truly a practice for the family. The Doctors and Nurse Practitioners are professional and compassionate. The staff is efficient and friendly. I appreciate they are one of the few practices not swallowed into a hospital system and autonomous. We always get great care from Dr. Lesser and Dr. Galias. Thanks for keeping our family healthy!

Friendly atmosphere with friendly staff. Been going there for a long time. Dr. Lesser is a terrific Dr with a great sense of humor. He may seem to be in a rush at times, but only because he has a lot of people seeing him. Always does a great job at diagnosis.

Doctor Lesser has been our family doctor for well over 22 years. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my boys, especially if it were serious. He is just a fantastic doctor. I've seen some of the other Doctors as well and they are great too but Lesser is definitely not only my favorite but more importantly both my boys trust and love Lesser.

if you have all day to possibly see someone at any of these facilities this might be a great place to waste the day

So, I have been experiencing pain in my neck, arm and numbness in my hand. I found an Orthopedic Doctor, and I wanted a second opinion (not a lot of confidence in this MD), so I wanted a referral from FM. The receptionist, Anna, told me I needed a referral from my primary, so I needed to make an appt with them. OK, I did, even though I've never had to do this before. So I called BC/BS and they said I didn't need a referral. I called FM back, and when Anna got on the phone, I told her I don't need a referral, and can I please just get a Ortho doctor's name. She became VERY nasty and defensive, stated that they send everyone to this doctor I saw, and that most of the Ortho docs are in this huge practice....and I was stuck...from this point on, she wanted nothing to do with helping me at all. She continually argued with me and wanted nothing to do with helping me at all!!! HORRIBLE staff here.

Dr. Michael Lesser is the best doctor I have seen, period. Better than the doctors in my home town of Barrington or any part of Lake or Cook county. Better than the ones I used in California and Texas. I would commute from Dekalb while in college in lieu of going to a local doctor. Thank you Dr. Lesser.

I tried to make an apt for a sports physical for my son. I explained that he has state medical, and that I understand they do not accept his insurance, so I would pay cash (Before or after the apt) and they told us to take our son to Walgreens. Apparently not even cold hard cash is good enough for my son to get adequate health care. Thanks for the “screw you,” - your loss- I actually pay my medical bills. Oh wait- you probably get more money charging an insurance company. Screw the patient, it’s ALL about the $.

I’m my children see Rose Iverson. She is an lgbtq+ ally and absolutely amazing. She listens to my teens and is so thorough, they absolutely adore her (which is a feat in itself) I would recommend over and over.

Most of the NPs are decent here. The techs, nursing staff and front desk staff are generally very rude and unpleasant. The practice milks for as many copays as possible on top of an annual $150+ fee per family. Always takes at least 25 min on hold to get through to anyone. Sad to see an independent practice so poorly managed

Fantastic family medicine practice, wonderful staff, great lab and front end people. Love the fact they do vitals the old fashioned way, manually, without electronics.

I have been going to see Dr. Lesser and his staff at Family Medicine for over 20 years. I have never felt so comfortable seeing a physician as I am with the good doctor as he’s professional, caring, extremely sharp, and always funny with a great sense of humor. Maybe I go too often as it’s like my Cheers where everybody knows my name. Andrea and Anna always have a smile when you walk in the door. I just wanted to say thank you to Dr. Lesser and his amazing staff at Family Medicine as there is no one better!

They cut corners and don’t care if you are a patient in their practice or not. When you bring up concerns to them they become egotistical and lack empathy or compassion. They will not apologize for their mistakes because they truly feel like they can not do any wrong. Even some of their own nursing staff agreed with us about the providers in this practice.

honestly, I am so very disappointed in this clinic and their staff. I think they are so very rude and disrespectful. I am a veteran and after serving my time I decided to go to nursing school. I chose those clinic because of its reviews and have been seen here a few times. I was first seen in 2017 and have been seen in 2018. This year my insurance changed and when I called to make an appointment the lady told me that it was fine since I was a patient there already. She told me they accepted my insurance and to just bring the card in. I get to my appointment and am in the room when all of a sudden the nurse comes back and tells me I couldn’t be seen today and needed to reschedule. I literally felt like she only wanted me out of the office. The whole day I couldn’t stop thinking about how that was so rude and couldn’t believe what happened. I called them back later that day and asked if I really needed to see a doctor or was it just them trying to get me out of the office because my insurance changed. The lady paused and said “we don’t know if we can accept you”. I said but I am a patient and she told me it was because I hadn’t seen a doctor in a little over a year. I told her I had been seen twice this past year and told me it was because I was seen my nurses and not a doctor. Again, didn’t make sense to me that because I saw a nurse, I am not considered a patient all of a sudden. I was then called later to be told that they would not accept me even though I had been seen there and was a patient. I even made sure to clarify that I was a patient and in reply I got a “yep. Okay?”. I am in my final year of earning my BSN and this has definitely taught me the type of people skills I do not want to have when I am working with patients.
