I wanted to extend a sincere "thank you" to your staff for helping my sick boy, Cody, over the rainbow bridge. You came through in a very difficult time, and with patience, guidance, kindness, understanding, and the highest quality of professionalism, took care of my sweet pup in the most comfortable way possible. From the front desk, to the vet techs, to the vet, we were very well taken care of. I'm very impressed with your services, Thank You!
This is not the first time we've used your service to relieve a pet from their pain. We've been there when our sweet girl cat, Boo, had to cross the bridge.
Again, thank you and the entire staff for your wonderful help. And, the paw print, the beautiful card... it's a very cherished memory!

I just wanted to thank you for easing our family's minds tonight. My husband and I had a scare with our baby boy, and your team was there for us when we needed it most. We have to travel an hour to access an emergency vet, so the initial call is so important for us to decide what's best. I am so happy we chose this place as our first option. We truly do appreciate the time you took to go over everything. What an amazing first impression in such a chaotic time. It feels so good knowing we have your team available in critical situations. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients as well as their loved ones I hope we don't need you again in the future, but if we do, you are the first we will think of. I can't recommend this place enough!

The staff and cardiologist here are THE VERY BEST!! My 16yr old Bichon keeps having cardiac episodes and I have to "restart" her. Dr Harrington and the staff here have answers, great information and a plan to help prevent more episodes going forward. Everyone is super nice and knowledgeable and they explain things in medical terms but also fully explain what it means without being condescending. I highly recommend bringing your pet here for the greatest care available!!!

So we bought our yorkie in because she ate some fish bones and she is 5lbs. We waited maybe 15 mins and she took her vitals and said she seem fine. She told us to give her some bread to form a cushion around it and give her extra food tonight. NO charge ! We will come back for all our future fur baby needs.

My dog ate something out of the garbage and I called them for advice if I should bring her in or let it pass. They were extremely helpful and did not feel “pushy” about bringing her in. They were very transparent about the price is would cost. It was a Friday night and I was expecting to pay quite a bit of money. The quote ended up being just as much as blood work (maybe even less than that). I did end up going with my gut feeling and I brought her there. Nick is who helped my dog and he was incredible. With my circumstance, they felt my dog did not need to be checked up by the vet so that split my quote in half! It was very kind of them to do that. In these situations it’s easy for places to take advantage of people and I did not feel that was at all. I highly recommend them.

This team is stellar. Dr. Riccio and the entire care team were friendly, compassionate, and took time to educate me. I am grateful.
I took my elderly dog in on a busy evening. The team saw me struggling to carry her in and immediately rushed over a transfer gurney, helped me in, and patiently ran intake. They took her back for evaluation while I checked in.
Dr. Riccio checked to see if my girl had eaten, and noting I fasted her in case scans were needed, Dr. R took the time to grab a meal and water for my dog while tests ran.
And then took time to educate me - on a busy night, no less.
The entire team was friendly, caring, and clearly passionate about their work.
Again, I am grateful.

The people at Companion are fantastic! I had to put my dog and cat down there and they really care about you and your pets My daughter tragically lost both her dogs in a house fire recently and they cremated and made paw prints for her for no charge..Our family cannot thank them enough for their care and generosity during this difficult time..Highly recommend!

We have been here two separate times and each time the staff were very helpful with our dog. The first time, our dog needed to get surgery for an injury and they were quick and communicative. Second time most recently, our dog was covered in hives and needed to bring him in immediately. They were insightful and he has improved so much . After each time we went, we were pleasantly surprised by how affordable they were.

They do not care. I had two really bad experiences. This is just the 1st one. I'll leave another review for the 2nd experience.
1st. A few years ago I brought my 15 year old dog for her last day with us. It was late and my Vet was closed.
From the start they showed No compassion.
When we made the final decision, I was talking to a tech about final details and cost involved when the doctor injected her right away without even telling us. My wife and I where in shock, they put our dog down with out giving us time to say good bye, we couldn't even hold her in her last moments.
When I asked for tissue they said "let me look" and never came back with any or said anything, just an example that the staff and Doctor just didn't care. We felt like we where bothering them by being there from the time we walked in - to the time we walked out.
Then they lost her ashes, I was told they where ready to be picked up, I showed up and they couldn't find her. It took 2 more weeks to get her ashes. I tried to keep this short but there is a ton more that I didn't mention.
I'll write the second review later.

My diabetic cat, Max, was in a DKA crisis and needed hospitalization to save his life. We live closest to VCA in Aurora so we tried there first. We decided against it after being in the Er because quite honestly, it's all about money to them. Companion Animal Specialty came up in my search and I called them to see if they could handle Max's case because severe DKA requires special insulin. After speaking with the doctor, they agreed to accept Max. Max was in the hospital for about three to four days and he fully recovered from DKA. The staff at Companion took very good care of him, kept us updated and answered all of our questions. Moreover, we were allowed to visit him. The charges were reasonable compared to what it costs nowadays to hospitalize a pet. The most important thing to us, however, is Companion's vets act with heart. We never felt it was about the money, but rather, about getting our beloved pet well again. Isn't that what we all want? They acted with professionalism and rendered the best care, never suggesting superfluous tests just to run up the bill. Instead, they focus on practicing the best vet medicine with a lot of care. Companion, thank you so much for saving Max's life and helping us through a crisis. By the way, he still looks like a poodle where the IV's were!

We had the most amazing experience at Companion Animal Specialty. Each staff member showed the greatest care and empathy. Dr. Mulholland was outstanding and we felt so fortunate that she helped us with our senior cat Dez. We couldn’t have felt more grateful because of Dr. Mulholland bedside manner and expertise.
