“its a decent place in lockport with average liquor store prices (jewel is always cheaper) and they close at 10pm even on friday and saturday night. great customer service but sometimes they can be out of commonly bought items. overall i would recommend”

“This little gem is a little outside of the Joliet downtown and very close to the highway. I was excited to come check out the store and it was worth it. They have a variety of wines, many with a variety of flavors and tastes I have not seen. They also carry some beer and other spirits. We were helped by one of the owners, who did a mini wine tasting for us, which actually helped us choose a wine. We purchased two wines, one called 'Rich and Spicy,' aged in bourbon barrels I'm excited to try and another selected from the wine tasting - 'Bottle of Poetry'. Excellent customer serivce and support and great wine selections. This is a good spot to try new wines and get them for a good rate.”

“They are always friendly and usually have good prices for the area. The item I buy has a shelf tag of 24.99 and at the register they charge 1.00 more. The also didn't have the kind of soda, coke zero, that I needed for a guest. But many items and never out of stock.”

“It's a quiet store in a good location for me. I was looking online to try some sake and was discouraged by the shipping price. To my suprise I found some here. That's a good selection. I mostly buy cheap beer and the prices are the same as anywhere else.”
“The store is a bit cluttered there is a lot of alcohol in there I do however wish that the employees spoke a little better English doesn't have to be perfect but just a little bit better so that I can understand another's can understand there were three language barrier conflicts while I was in the store.”

“For being the late night liqour store on the east side in the ghetto on collins street, Calderon's actually isn't that bad. The prices aren't gouged like they are after certain hours in Chicago and even Cook County. I've only gone there late at night because its the spot when you've got no other options, but I've never felt like its hot with cops or hot with thugs or clucks asking for money. You're in and out. Its not a hangout. The owners have made sure of that. They'll take walk ups (people without cars) but do your business and get out and move on. This severely reduces any loitering, which there is none of. Yeah, its in the ghetto, but the owners have made certain that its safe.”
