Absolutely love this gym! One of the only 24/7 gyms in Chicagoland which lets me be super flexible with my hours rather than planning around gym hours. The gym is super clean (I think I saw one staff member clean it every hour?) and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. I look forward to renewing!

Apparently leaving a negative review of this place is the only way to get a response from the owner.I signed up for Wicker Park Fitness last year in the summer when I first moved to the area. Unfortunately I lost my job at the end of December and had to move out of state. Per their contract and protocol, I sent an email requesting a cancellation form (as indicated in the original contract I signed) and was told “there’s no form, all we need is an email and two pieces of mail sent with the email.” I sent this email and attachments in early December requesting my refund of the unused months (I paid for the year upfront).Radio silence despite multiple follow ups and requests, both emails and calls. Finally nearly two months later, I got an email from someone named Kenzie MacKenzie who identified herself as a director and explained I needed to send those same pieces of mail via USPS certified letter. I sent those in early February as directed, received the green tracking card to indicate it was received by the gym.Once again despite multiple emails and phone calls, I cannot get anyone to respond to my requests. Mind you I requested this refund in early December and here I am FOUR MONTHS later still waiting on my money or any communication from this place. I followed the rules, I read the contract, I was polite and professional, so where is my money?Response to Owner: Wow… Did you gloss over the part of my review where I said I requested that exact cancellation form and was told that it wasn’t necessary, by BOTH members of staff (one being a director)? I followed the protocol set forth by your staff, I received a USPS green card for certified mail indicating that my request was received by your office. You as the business failed to uphold your portion of the contract, putting YOU at fault. I have staff responses in writing and would be happy to send the email chain along. Absolutely unacceptable.

UPDATE: they responded. Very on brand with the unaccountability and back handed remarks. I really tried to be nice but you’re a scum bag and I hope reviews go viral on how you conduct business. I see my first impression was right. It’s not an issue with ClassPass. It’s an issue with your gym not having consistency with how they check in users of ClassPass. If you want to make a passive attempt to be snarky and imply I use ClassPass for a discount…..you’re absolutely right my Corporate job pays for it, so why would I sign a contract when you clearly don’t care how you treat people and have to trap them with contracts because no one would come back otherwise. If your gym really was all that, you wouldn’t even need to be on classpass, so clearly you’re hurting for business. you look like someone who was bullied all their life, and now in turn you bully others. You’re a real piece of work and I’m convinced life just hasn’t caught up to you yet. This gym is not worth it. You all are blatantly unwelcoming. Keep up the attitude, it’ll come back to you one day.My intention is to be respectful, constructive and honest, in the event this gym really had a technical issue ….But it’s the next day and this interaction really rubbed me the wrong way.Attended through classpass. Came in and a new person who was noticeably more vocal than anyone I’ve ever met, requested to see my tangible class pass reservation because “classpass took away our rosters and we can’t see who is supposed to be signed up”.He wanted to see it so bad that while I was searching on my phone, he asked again and I had to let him know. I was pulling it up….red flag or maybe just impatient. Now mind you, I’ve been coming here for weeks and the only instruction printed at the front desk is to sign in -if from class pass with associated name/ email/ and signature. Never have I had to show someone the classpass reservation on my literal phone. In fact, every single person except my first visit is quiet. Which is why I think this man who i had never seen before…:was the manager if not owner. He had the presence of authority in that space so I respect that….but please consider your demeanor. As a business owner, I’d never want to make clients feel….ick. Maybe update the sign so it doesn’t seem like you’re making up imaginary rules depending on who you deem needs to show their reservation. If there is an issue with CP hope they fix it soon to avoid any further interactions like this potentially. If the sign had been updated and I saw uniformity with all patrons, i would not have felt so singled out.Outside of not feeling welcome due to seemingly being singled out….the gym has what you need.Update: visited again and this time Joe asked to see my classpass. He then let me know I had to be out at 8….which is when my pass was over so why he felt the need to reiterate unprovoked? I asked him. He said it was because some ClassPass users would miss their window and then still come to the gym anyway which sounds like something that could happen but again I’ve never done that, so why the accusatory tone?He then let me know that they don’t check all the time because some people they recognize and other people they don’t and when they don’t, we are supposed to show it on our phone and then sign in which again directly goes against what ClassPass communicated to me, so I’m going to go ahead and move this review back down to a one star because the inability to have continuity amongst customers in a business is just disrespectful and put a bad taste in peoples mouth so if I can’t get the bare minimum of mutual respect, I don’t see why this business deserves anything other than one star.

It’s exactly what you need in a gym , you worried about it being busy ? Try and go different times if you can . Has all the machines for you to successfully get your training in . I moved from Georgia to wicker park and went to a few gyms. Went to this one and it’s been a wrap ever since

Stay away. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I wanted to love this small neighborhood gym, but I didn't. The gym is almost always unstaffed; even when they are, they are not helpful. The equipment is subpar, and they need more plates to go around. I spent half my time at the gym trying to find more plates to add to a bar, and even if I could, I could find one but not two. The gym is so crowded at all hours of the day. I thought working from home, I could go during non-peak hours and it would be quiet, but even at non-peak times, it was still crowded. No one respects that you're in the middle of a set and just takes your weights without even asking if you're done of if they can work in with you. This used to be a nice neighborhood gym. It was sold and the new owners are never there, there is no customer service, and they honestly could care less about any of their members. The only time you will ever hear from or speak to anyone is when you want to cancel, and then they make it near impossible to cancel your membership. And be very wary of their 31-day cancellation notice, it's more like 60 days. I see several other reviewers say the same exact thing. I finally ended up paying another 30 days even though I no longer lived there just to keep them from harassing me. They didn't speak to me one time the months I was at a member. But harrassed me for months when I canceled.

I had to evict my flab after joining this wonderland of my future potential! Can’t get enough of their cold hard weights. And at prices these low, you’d be losing money not to buy!

Small gym, gets really packed for the 9-5 crowd. Not a ton of equipment and nasty re-usable towels to wipe off equipment. Not the worst gym but not great either. Equipment is jammed in pretty tight is my biggest complaint.

Overall not a bad gym at all. Has what you need equipment wise, great location and staff( when there lol) are helpful and keep the place together.Improvements to the bathrooms and removing the signs on the machines telling you to clean otherwise you pay a fee would be great.Still great gym for the price and area it’s located ?

I lived right around the corner from here. Cancelled when I moved. Read the other low reviews. The owner uses the threat of collections and credit score dings to try to extort money out of you by threatening to hurt your credit score (which is not how collections works don’t be scared by those tactics, been there before on forgotten bills/expired credit cards and there’s no impact on your score unless you don’t respond).Never was presented a contract at sign up. Unprofessional business, WPAC is down the road and way better both in their gym and in the cancellation process.

This gym has been extremely disappointing. Equipment is subpar. No GHR machine and front desk is not helpful. Crowded narrow space and vibe used to be friendly neighborhood gym but has since become more of a meat market/bro gym, which as a female is not appealing to me.There is essentially zero customer service and they promise discounts and prices that they do not honor.First, I think about 2 years ago, I signed up through ClassPass and was paying $25 a month. Then, because I’m a healthcare worker they said it would be better if I just did a regular membership but they would honor that ClassPass rate. That was great until they increased the rate to $59.95 in May 2023 without telling me. Hold that thought because it gets worse.I referred someone to their gym in 2022. They were having a promotion that said I would get a month off if I referred someone for membership. In order to receive this, I had to email them. I did email them. I never heard back. That was in January of 2023. I never got a free month. I called them to inquire and never got a straight answer. They just told me to email them again, which I did. No answer. No response for over a YEAR. No month off of membership. Absolutely nothing. Honestly this seems fraudulent to advertise a month off and not come through on these promises.Back to December, 2023…after I realized that they had jacked up the price of the gym, I called them to see if I could get a refund and understand what had happened. I was upset because my partner who also has a membership, was paying only $35.00. Apparently they had still given him a ClassPass discount, but not me and had increased that to $35.00 from $25.00 per month for him. I spoke to an associate on the phone in December of 2023 named Casper who did not know why this happened and instructed me of course to email them. I have emailed them. I told Casper to email me regarding this issue but did receive any email. It’s now January 12, 2024 and I still haven’t heard back. Not a peep. I have never heard back from them ever in fact. They never responded to my email from January of 2023!At this point I’m beyond frustrated. I’ve emailed requesting to cancel my membership and haven’t heard back.So facts here include that I haven’t heard from anyone at this gym via email ever and have been awaiting responses since I emailed them over a year ago. They jacked up their pricing and have refused to honor previous discounts and give some members discounts randomly it appears while others pay for an overpriced mediocre at best gym.Stay away.Edit, replying to owner:1. I did email about the discount in Jan 2023 as stated. Please read this thoroughly. I have also now emailed that additional email address with no response. I forwarded my multiple previous emails.2. I am well aware that we are now beyond the worst of the covid-19 pandemic. It’s beyond insulting and rude to insinuate that I would not know that given my line of work. What I would have expected is that because your staff told me to cancel my ClassPass because your healthcare discount would be the same is that when that discount is done, you should have honored the ClassPass rate which is what you did for my partner but not for me, as I’ve outlined above.3. I have requested cancellation and requested a free month as above with no reply. I’m sending emails to the correct address. It shouldn’t be this hard to communicate with a business and require reviews to get answers.4. I would be willing to pay more for a better gym with prompt and kind customer service. The way you come across in your replies to customers is unprofessional and unkind. I’m clearly not alone in my issues. It is indeed predatory and fraudulent to engage in false advertising. It’s not easy to cancel and I have been charged twice before. It is predatory to promise rates to me that you don’t deliver. Like I said, I would be happy to pay more for better service. I’m still trying to cancel and get away from your gym!

[email protected] each time. The response is not within 24 hours as stated by the owner in other reviews in which customers have similar problems! In fact, as stated, they have never, ever replied to me! This is beyond horrendous customer service. There were also several times in which my credit card was charged twice it appears in error?! I will be reporting this business to the city for these practices. I'm hoping I can get some type of answers. So sad that it might take a Yelp review to get any type of response. For the price and lack of any service, this gym is not worth it. Better off going to Planet Fitness and staying away.

Gym is okay for the price but cancelling was frustrating. They demand you pay extra month when you want to cancel, and threaten to send you to collections agency if you do not comply. Pretty shady business practice to get an extra month of fees from members who are leaving the gym.

TLDR: Signed up on a Friday and canceled on the next Monday and that costed me $150. NO PARKING AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.Before signing up I asked the staff attendant, “is there parking around the area”, she said “yes there’s plenty of parking”. The next two days I tried to go to the gym, first early morning and late at night, in both occasions I wasn’t able to find parking so I decided to cancel my membership. I called to cancel my membership but they wouldn’t do it over the phone and wanted me to send an email. After requesting a cancellation with an email, I didn’t receive any confirmation, then I called again the staff member said there’s a 31 days grace period so you will be billed for the next month. So that $50 sign up fee and $50 for the first month and another $50 for the second month and I’ve never used the gym.

Such a good gym! The ONLY 24/7 gym in the neighborhood, which is so beneficial to my busy schedule. All of the weights are placed in the proper racks, and the mirrors and machines are extremely clean! Such a low price too!
