My friend and I came in 1/21 to look around as we had just come from another thrift store down the street and upon entering the sales associate asked us if we wanted to keep our bags up there which in theory seems like a nice offer however, it didn’t really seem optional and she almost asked me to keep my purse with her too but stopped asking when I turned around to go shopping. My purse is a tiny shoulder bag it barely holds my keys let alone other stuff. I went to the racks and she was right behind me several times as if she was watching me very closely and did this with no one else except my friend and i who are black but to no other patrons. Upon leaving we asked for our bags back and only made it right out the door to find out she gave my friend the wrong bag and the other bag was literally the stores stuff. We brought it back and she didn’t even notice. It would be one thing if everyone had to leave their bags up there but every other patron had their shopping bags or bags with them and weren’t followed around unless they asked for assistance it felt like racial profiling and was micro aggressive. As much as I love a small business, i did not feel welcomed as a black patron and probably will never come back I am very disappointed even being from missouri i have never had such a bad experience of racial profiling as a patron than my friend and i did today.

The sales woman who was working racially profiled while shopping. She then tried to keep my bag that she took while I was shopping. Literally every other store on the block was welcoming, inclusive and I was able to find amazing pieces. Don’t go here.

Found what I was looking for (and more) for an upcoming event. Staff was really nice and love how the store is set up.

I had a great experience here! Shanti is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, with a great calming presence and exquisite taste. There are a lot of vintage stores in Pilsen, but this is my favorite.

This place really does have the very best vintage. The shop is small but well organized and stocked with a variety of nice, decently priced clothes and accessories. It didn't have the vintage store smell at all, and the dressing rooms are well lit and very comfortable! The shopkeeper was extremely attendant and kind, she held clothes for me by the register while I continued to shop.Though there is an area for men's clothing this does primarily have vintage womens clothes.Highly Recommended! In my opinion this is the best vintage shop in the strip

Good assortment, little pricey. Cramped, they need a bigger space. Found a few items.

I have been living in Chicago for 2 month and that's been my favorite vintage spot so far. I wasn't being able to find ideal 40-s pencil skirt that would fit my athletic 2021 body in San Francisco, and there were more than one in Very Best Vintage! if you looking for glamours and high femme pieces -this place is the must. Also I like that its not huge so you can really go through things without getting overwhelmed.

super cute, tightly curated selection of clothing. very clean and welcoming space, have bought many pieces and even wall decor here over the years. yes it is pricier ($20-40) than local thrift stores or flea markets but in my experience it's relatively on par with resale boutiques

The environment of the shop was nice and welcoming, but that was interrupted when the sales woman was “sneakily” following me and my other two POC friends around. For a thrift store located in a POC Latino/a neighborhood, I’m disappointed that the worker was profiling AND the items were way overpriced. It was apparent that the store caters to richer lighter-complexed persons, as she had been helpful to a white mom and her daughter. Having visited many other amazing, local thrift stores, I’m aware that many of the items in there were not worth the cost they was priced at.
