Don't go anywhere else! We've done agility elsewhere in Chicago, and we learned NOTHING compared to what we learn at Urban pooch. We learn the safe way how to build my pup's confidence while also teaching them the proper way to "bail" on contacts. We've taken private lessons and our Golden is in Daycare here.Their staff is CERTIFIED in dog training and other specialties. You do NOT get that ANYWHERE else in the city.

I had an extensive HONEST review of this place posted and they paid to have it removed BECAUSE IT WAS THE TRUTH!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! They price gouge you for EVERYTHING. They do not care about their customers or your dogs. Keep paying to have my honest reviews removed, Ed, and I will keep reposting them! The owner of this place is OUT OF HIS MIND. He price gouges and charges for every single thing, yet nothing is ever clean. This same guys charge a $20 fee if your dog pees on 5+ year old turf indoors... who in their right mind puts turf down inside for dog training and expects dogs to not pee on something that looks exactly like grass?????? You can tell they're not animal people. They don't even have real dog trainers. They have dog trainers that used to be janitors at the facility as dog trainers now. I wonder why....because they're TOO CHEAP to pay for REAL trainers!! They're so cheap, it's disgusting. How these people are still in business is beyond me. In the dog training facility ALL the dog crates are from the 1900's. They've been promising new crates for over 2 years now. They removed new crates and replaced them with the junk they had in the back. The locks don't even work on them, that's how damaged and old they are. THESE PLACES ARE FOR PROFIT ONLY. STAY AWAY AND DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND GO SOMEWHERE THAT CARES. These people only care about money. Apparently, Ed and his investors never heard of the book "Hug Your Customers: Love the Results." If they had, perhaps they wouldn't have to resort to price gouging everyone for everything. Instead, they rape you of every penny you have. They are constantly raising their training prices. Yeah, I'm going to pay more to have my dog trained by your janitor and not a real trainer...WAKE UP!!! I cannot wait for these places to go out of business and for REAL dog trainers and dog people to take over!! With the way they do business, their days are numbered!!!

The puppy fundamentals class is terrible. I couldn’t bring myself to finish it.This is my third puppy, and I was blown away by the just absolutely excessive numbers of treats they use here. The teacher instructed me to bring at least 2 lbs of treats in 5 varieties. The dog is only 9 pounds. It’s just too much. We rushed through commands like sit and down to spend 30 minutes “scattering” treats 5-6 at a time in the crate. There’s an expectation that dog owners stay at home all day with the dog and do puppy enrichment constantly. They say things like 6-8 walks a day in the middle of winter. The instruction just isn’t in touch with the reality of people’s lives.

The folks at Urban Pooch do a great job grooming our nervous dog and he often comes back with a sweet little bandana.

Felix is always happy to go in and looks great (and happy to see me) coming out. The shop has a large variety of dog treats and toys (and probably for other pets too) and Ali the groomer keeps him looking sharp!

The facility is well organized, clean and the staff members are welcoming. For $15 you can bath, condition and dry your pup. If more time is needed you can purchase an additional $15 coin. Super fun and easy!

My dog and I took a puppy training class at a different facility (which we loved), and they recommended taking an agility class next but did not offer it. Based on reviews, we found ourselves signed up for Beginner Agility at Urban Pooch, however I'll be the first to admit I did not do much research on Agility beforehand. I thought this class might be a good mix of fun, obedience, and bonding but we were NOT taking it to eventually compete. I believe this is important to note for others because our class was completely geared towards learning the ropes for competitions - there were a lot of rules and consequently, the class was very rigid. I understand why it's structured this way, but it just wasn't for us. I also was not particularly fond of our instructor, which didn't help matters. Overall, we still took away a few learnings from the class but it wasn't enjoyable enough to sign up for another.

Urban Pooch laid such good groundwork for training and socializing our puppy. She *loved* going there for the puppy training and for the LEVELS class.Shout out to Ellie and Bobby who gave us such good training tips. She also went for grooming once (her first time!) and Michele was so patient and gave some good suggestions on things we can do to make it easier for future grooms.

My partner and I have had truly the best experience working with Urban Pooch in 1-1 sessions with our highly anxious rescue dog! Both lead trainers with whom we have worked, Gabrielle and Pamela, have been patient, kind, and compassionate as they guided us through the training process. Pamela (with whom we have worked the most) is highly knowledgeable and she makes learning fun for both humans and dogs. Our dog has made demonstrable gains in a relatively short amount of time (1 month). I highly recommend!

The review is for self service dog wash. $15 for 10 min is ridiculous. It's impossible to wash and dry a dog in 10 min. The place is clean and the staff is friendly, so I added one more star. Self service dog wash that we usually use is $10 and there is no time limit!

Been going to Urban Pooch for about 2 weeks now. Facility is clean, staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Compared to other places this is the best bang for your dollar. Would recommend to anyone looking to train a dog of any age

Great place for grooming and more. They do doggy daycare and boarding as well and have a small store as a cherry on top.

We absolutely love Urban Pooch! We have tried a couple of their different classes (puppy fundamentals, puppy agility, and LEVELs) and have learned so much. Our dog is also in their Enrichment Daycare which I think he loves the most because he gets to see all his favorite people and dog friends. All the staff is very friendly and helpful with pet parent tips. Highly recommend checking them out!
