This is the Foxtrot or Whole Foods of grocery stores as others have mentioned. The point being made is that they are pricey! I was debating between a three or four star review - here's why I said three stars. I've been here four times I think and each time, the layout is different. This last time I was there, they had a food court, which I wish I had a chance to try but didn't. As big as this store is, it always feels PACKED. I don't know if the aisles are smaller or what, but just feels so crammed. I get pretty anxious shopping around here.Their selection is pretty big as well but I feel like the layout makes no sense. For example, I was looking for Miso Soup packets or base, so I checked the ramen aisle - no luck. I circled every single aisle three times and ended up leaving with no miso. No big deal because I found enough other things to buy lol. I do like their selection with that being said but it still feels so unorganized AND very overpriced compared to your H Mart or Mitsuwa. Other things I couldn't find were dried scallions and gimbap.Their employees are friendly but three of the four I came across for help kept telling me they didn't speak English. I found that a bit frustrating because the cashiers were too busy to help and seemed to be the only ones who spoke English. I later learned they had neon signs with descriptions but still couldn't find my items. Back to the pricing. I bought cheese "dogs" and they came four in a pack for $14. I get the same pack with double the quantity at Costco and they're also bigger. I paid almost the same price for four packs of Shin Ramyun ramen too. I'm annoyed I let myself spend $75 for a handful of things but your girl was craving Asian food ok.I will say that they seem to have quality meats and foods. They have a fairly large selection of finely sliced meats for hot pot or whatever your heart desires. I just personally will drive a little further to pay more decent prices because this economy ain't it.

COOL SPOT FOR PICTURES !! I wished i asked where they got the neon CTA sign cause it looks dope ! A lot of options and definitely a place to bring friends to explore and take pictures. Bought some ramen there and had many options. I think they also have a place where u can sit and eat in the back. Cool store overall ✔️

Whole Foods meets Mitsuwa marketplace. Urban Market is a grocery store with a heavy Asian focus but still manages to carry a decent amount of western food, most of which are modern and trendy brands- the kinds of things that you'd find at Whole Foods or foxtrot. There is a decent Mexican section and plenty of cheese by the deli which shows how this store is aimed at the modern, multicultural city goer. The food court is excellent and includes an Asian bakery which has all the staples you know and love from places like tous les hours such as red bean buns and fresh baked bread. The neon signs make the atmosphere a really fun place to visit, even if you don't have any grocery shopping to do!

Overall the experience was okay. Employees in aisles were not very friendly but the cashier was nice enough. However, I bought 4 honeycrisp apples, came home and went to eat one within an hour of buying and it was brown on the inside. Second one…brown. Third…brown. Fourth…brown. So yeah, very poor apple quality.

This is a great Asian market in the area! Lots of fun finds from all over Asia, with a canteen off to the side. Fresh bakery and bubble tea.

So many snacks! Make sure you bring a reusable bag or a bag of your own cause you’ll be charged $0.07 per bag…

Asian style supermarket with lots of fast food places to eat, including ramen, wok, desert and beer + Wine bar, and of course a supermarket. Anime decoration throughout. Super cool spot if you’re into it

I like this place but the prices are way too high, it's easier to just go to Jewel four blocks away and pay half the price. If anyone at Urban Market is reading this, please lower your prices and you will get many more customers, it's a young area

*This review is for Gangnam Market (find this review on their Yelp page as well), which seems to be getting a lot of unwarranted hate from embittered Urban Market fans which is pretty messed up.*Wow, I'm pretty envious of the people that live close to this market. The market itself is immaculate and beautifully designed with that fun downtown Seoul neon vibe. The items are really well curated. The snack section alone is worth a 30 min drive but if I lived closer I would also come here strictly for the produce. The veggies looked great and were comparably price to my local Mariano's (except that my Mariano's has s%#t produce). Prepared foods also looked very enticing and I would grab a tray of sashimi for lunch without hesitation. The hotpot meat section is AMAZING and had a very wide selection (see photo). The cashier was friendly and pleasant, and I witnessed a staff member guiding an elderly woman (practically arm in arm) to help her find the right type of salt, a very sweet moment :)To the owners my only suggestion is putting up better signage guiding people to the free parking garage all around the block at the intersections.

I’ve been coming to this place since it opened. The worst part was buying sushi and then not listing imitation crab multiple times. They list everything but that and that’s an issue for multiple reasons.

Cool new store with lots of Asian + non-asian options. Friend and I said it's very similar to a mix of maggianos and hmart ? prices and selection also match that expectationYou can get hotpot ingredients i.e shaved/thin sliced beef, good selection of noodles (one shelf/row), and nice snacks like pocky, KitKat, chipsWill be back

Urban Market consists of Gangnam market, a bar, coffee shop, bakery shop, and a few restaurants. Gangnam Market is an Asian grocery store, which is smaller than Hmart and Whole Foods. The Urban Market is mainly catering to local residents for their convenience. The parking garage is adjacent to the market through Morgan Ave to entrance. 90 minutes free parking with validation.

Great full service grocery and great location for West Town! All new & clean construction in this grocers complex and adjoining apartments and offices. We're in an apartment nearby and visit this store frequently. The area surrounding the store has improved significantly with addition of new apartments, better road and sidewalks and the CVS next door.
