We've been taking our cats to Uptown Animal Hospital since their initial one year check-up during COVID, and just this summer we were fortunate enough to have them be our vet while we were in the process of moving out of the country.
Uptown Animal Hospital (especially Jenny) has been nothing but professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating during the stressful few months we had to get the cats paperwork in order and signed off by the USDA.
They are a credit to the neighborhood and we are thankful to have had such a good vet be so near at such a crucial time.
The cats paperwork was completed without fault, returned from the USDA on schedule, and the cats successfully traveled through two different countries without a single hiccup.
We are sorry to be moving so far away from such a good vet.

Dr.Sullivan is an Excellent Veterinarian, I have never seen a Vet who's more caring and knowledgeable about the wellness for cat's and the Staff at this place is so beyond wonderful ? star's is more accurate for Dr Sullivan and his Staff.Dr Sullivan is Great,for all of our Fur Babies.?

I would recommend seeking care elsewhere. Your pets health will not be prioritized at this location, as they are overbooked and only able to rush patients through. Questions are not answered, staff are dismissive, and your pet can expect no more than five to ten minutes with a vet regardless of your concerns.
After receiving our vet care for 4 years at Uptown Animal Hospital we were shocked by the lack of care and grace extended by your practice. We were bringing our cat in with concerns about her breathing and arrived late - our issue entirely. We were 11 minutes late, and I had called staff as soon as I realized I was going to be late to apologize and see if we could still be seen. Our car was totaled over the 4th of July and so, reliant on Uber, even as we did everything we could to leave work early to get to the first available appointment, we were not seen. Summer traffic on a Friday is always rough, I know ours is not a unique instance of being late and that schedules are important.
I can’t help but wonder if we were only going to be seen by the vet for five or 10 minutes, if appointments are scheduled so tightly together that our 11 minute delay meant we couldn’t even spend 2 min asking the vet about our cat’s health. In the past, visits have felt extremely rushed, with minimal time to have questions answered. This was not a normal check up, and we were quite concerned about our cat’s breathing. There was no discussion of whether she could be seen even briefly, to decide whether we needed to seek emergency care or not. The front team really seemed as if they could care less. Staff were fine to reschedule us but we will not be returning to Uptown Animal Hospital.

A friend just got an estimate for a cat dental from this hospital and the range is $2500-$4500. Is that what one is expected to pay in Chicago to clean a cat's teeth and possibly do extractions? I've had many dogs and cats over the years and I've never spent more than $1200 (with multiple extractions). I think this price is insanely high. Am I wrong? They even threw in $25 for a nail trim while the cat is under. My vet always does that comp during surgery

I have been coming to Uptown Animal for 20+years for all my rescues. The staff and more importantly, the vets have always provided care over and beyond. I have had some very sick animals and they always have accommodate me each and every time. They are the best!!! I have had rescue dogs since '97 and recently, rescue cats treated there.

I have been with Uptown Animal Hospital
for 11 years. We always had excellent service and great doctors. Today we had a new doctor Dr Timothy Sullivan he was so patient and explained everything.He is the best.

Brought my dog Theo because he was bitten by another dog. Dr. Sullivan and his assistant (Jenny I think was her name) were both very kind and knowledgeable. It was clear that to them the patient is my dog and Dr. Sullivan put Theo at ease. They checked for signs of infection or fever, gave Theo a physical and removed tartar from his front teeth which I felt went above and beyond. The pricing for our visit very fair and comparable to other animal hospitals I’ve been to in the suburbs. Thank you for taking care of my dog.
