I was a vendor here recently, and the entire staff, from Special Events teams to chefs, in house Technology and Lighting Department, as well as EVERYONE I met or interacted with was helpful and kind! Amazing experience working as a vendor there for a recent DNC event!

Great rooms at a good price. Stayed here for our annual guys trip and the staff was very nice as was the room. The location is great if you need to be downtown.

Rooms: Basic sleeping rooms, but there’s no need for anything else. During a stay the entire building is available.
Walkability: It’s easy to walk (theater districts 5 minutes), restaurants in minutes, plus public transit (buses, subway and elevated train) 1-2 min away. Main trains for commuters or major travel is a short 5 min bus or taxi/rideshare. Shopping has suffered (but isn’t that the case most places). Parks and museums 5 min walk.
Food & drinks: Several restaurants and bars, and a coffee shop onsite. Several others in minutes of walking.
Noteworthy details: During your stay entire building is yours to use. Full service athletics, a spa with massage, nail services, and a barber. The library is top-notch, computers are available, printing for a nominal fee. Meeting rooms for a short one on one, can be booked on the fly. Larger rooms are also available to book. The art throughout the building is magnificent. This is a private club so if you’re a member, you don’t need to stay overnight to enjoy the amenities.

Amazing service, friendly staff. The only think I left wanting was more time spent going through the gallery. Delighted that the website has the art collection online with all the extra details. Many thanks to whomever curated the history of the collection.
The food.... astounding
The gym..... luxury
The club.... considerably more inviting than expected.

Amazing service, stunning architecture, delicious food, and extremely comfy accommodations. This is now my favorite hotel in Chicago and the ONLY place I will stay when traveling here. Well done to the staff!
Rooms: The rooms are comfortable and offer a bed, desk, chez lounge and large TV.
Nearby activities: Post Office near by, Millennium Park and the "Bean". Many good restaurants of all price levels near by.
Safety: Feels safe, not too busy an area through the weekend and week.
Walkability: Walkable to Millennium Park and the "Bean", post office. Many good restaurants of all price levels near by, quite walkable.
Food & drinks: Food onsite is AMAZING. Eat here for sure.
Noteworthy details: The building is so beautiful, you will feel like a dignitary staying here.

I have been going to the ULC for a little over 4 years now. The hotel rooms are very spacious just a tad dated, but you definitely get your money's worth considering the location and the size of the room. The service from the staff is always amazing. There have been several times where I have only interacted with a staff member once or twice and am about to give them my name and they will always call me by my last name before I have even said anything to them! That's pretty impressive. One of their bartenders knew it after only interacting with him ONE time! I also held my mother's memorial service here back in 2021 and the staff was super accommodating and helpful! But yes, you do have to be a member to book a hotel room (or be a part of a reciprocal club) and yes, you do have to be a member or a guest of a member to enter the club (and/or a guest attending an event there). So please do not be alarmed when security asks you for your information. It is their job to do so.
