worst place to go to.. AVOID!!lady in the office Samantha - pretend like you are non existing and ignores you. we keep asking over and over to get off loaded 2 U-boxes and she was ignoring us!!!!fist she says start time is 9am.. then 10am.. she walks out to move some containers.this is 2nd time like that. Someone needs to tell her to treat Customers betterSTAY AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!

They canceled my order with no notice. Had mobile pick up but that was canceled too. Staff couldn’t have been less helpful or friendly. Absolutely do not go here lol

I originally made a reservation for a different location that was within walking distance of my home. U-haul called me the morning of my reservation, just 4 hours before I was scheduled to pick up the truck, and informed me that they would not honor it because there were not any trucks at the location I had reserved that could do online check in. If this was the case, I should have been told far enough in advance to make alternative plans or not been able to make this reservation in the first place. The customer service rep that called showed no empathy, did not offer any compensation for U-haul's inability to honor my reservation, and only offered the option to get a truck at this Avondale location instead, which is not walking distance from my home. I asked them to cancel my reservation because this customer service and experience was unacceptable to me. They did not cancel my reservation despite what I asked and what they confirmed they would do. I then shift my reservation to Avondale knowing I will now have to drive and leave my car at the location because given the last minute nature, I was not able to shift to another rental provider - it felt like U-haul had purposefully waited until the last minute to prevent me from making an alternate plan. Then upon arriving at the Avondale U-haul location, they cancel my reservation and create a new one it seems and inform me that they do not allow parking at their location. U-haul forced me to shift to this location where I had to drive to get to it, instead of the location I could walk to, and they won't even let me park at it.Overall, what I have gotten out of this experience is that I should not count on U-haul to honor any reservation nor provide even a shred of customer service or regard for the customer experience. This was such a poor experience, I will not be trusting U-haul with any move in the future.

Uhaul moving & storage of Avondale, Chicago Illinois is a really good place to rent a moving truck. The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this location.

There are many other U-Hauls, truck rental facilities, storage facilities, and supply retailers in this area that you can use and I would advise avoiding this specific U-Haul. I used it several times when I lived near it. Long lines motivated me to try using the online purchase and pick up at facility feature. When I arrived the next day, I still had to wait in line, my order wasn't ready and they'd sold part of it.U-Haul advertises easy returns if you don't use the product. I tried to return a box of packing paper. It was damaged during my move, but still sealed and closed. Just a little banged up.They guy at the counter said, "Wow! What did you do to this?!" I apologized for the box being crumpled at the corners. He responded, "I don't know boss, I think I'm going to have a hard time reselling this."This isn't Pawn Stars. If you can't take it back, that's fine, but please do so with some sense of customer service.

Imagine getting into your first accident, you're crying, lip busted and you're unpacking into your first apartment. Your phone starts blowing up the employees of this U-Haul location on your personal phone demanding that you get in contact with the police when you already did.So in February of 2023, I rented a U-haul from this location, got into a accident and a fake tow company took the u-haul from me. We told the employees of our situation and they said they will hand it. Days later, one of them started to blowing up mines and my boyfriend's personal cells ordering us to get the police involved. We called 311, visited 3 different police stations, talk to many cops AND lawyers and they all told us the same thing, "we (me and my boyfriend) can't do anything about this as if it was not our property. Until this location file a report, there is nothing that can be done" But of course that one employee after knowing this information kept calling and texting me and my partner, even overcharging my card to get our attention. Many dispute charges and a letter to the business bureau letter, they finally got their uhaul back, no thanks to them. They never even tried to file a report on their end or anything just harassed me and my boyfriend for months even though we was told we couldn't do anything.I will NEVER do business with U haul again. That was a nightmare.

Only thing about this storage I don't like is the A/C is kind of lacking. The rest of the property is nice, well kept even the bathroom is spotless. They have a large rat trap/bait station in my storage which doesn't bother me, it actually shows they make pest management efforts, more than I can say about many places.

Saturday July 29th, 2023 my friends and I went to the U-Haul of Avondale. When we walked inside we asked the lady at the counter named francheska /franchy (Her worn name tag and name on paper work were different) if there were any UHaul vans available to be rented today. She rudely said “not unless you already have a reservation cause everything is already rented out”. We said ok and left. We ended up checking online to see when we could make a reservation and we were able to make one for the same day to be ready for pickup 15 mins later. We went back inside and waited 5+ minutes for the same lady francheska/ franchy to “help” us again. We told her we had a reservation and she seemed mad. She said we needed 2 emergency contacts instead of the 1 that the online form requested. Then she insisted that she has to call each contacts number to confirm we are who we say we are even though we were all there in person. Which is something we’ve never had to do before when renting with UHaul. I just don’t understand why Francheska/franchy couldn’t have rented us a UHaul van when we 1st came in considering we were able to get a UHaul van 15 minutes later online. She could have told us that it would be easier for her if we did the reservation online, instead of lying and saying that all UHaul vans were rented out for the day. My experience at this location with francheska/ franchy does not make me want to do business with UHaul again if that’s the kind of people you hire.

Avoid U-haul by any means. I rented a 20 ft truck from this location and I will say the representative Wanda was pleasant to deal with.My truck however was filthy in the cabin, the included lock did not work, and the A/C did not work at all.I will do everything I can to never do business with U-Haul again.

I rented a storage unit back in April, ive been trying to create an account online to make payments which never happened due to some technical difficulties. i've been trying to call the store to see if I can do it over the phone, the last few times I was put on hold for over an hour, ( not necessary but I have call logs and screenshots if needed) then today I attempted to call another time, July 14, 2023 @ 8:29AM. The woman who picked up the phone and assisted me and helped me complete my payments even was generous enough to remove a couple of late fees for me which i'm more than grateful for. The only problem was she kept saying she had trouble hearing me even when I was on the verge of yelling into my phone. She put the phone down and proceeded to tell her coworker, 'Fucking stupid bitch. I couldn't hear anything she was saying.' to which I replied , 'I'm sorry ma'am? i'm still on the phone.' She then told me she was not talking to me and that she sent me a receipt to my email. Manager seems to be walking around with the same attitude.
