I was here today to check out few furnitures and found that they keep food in the refrigerator that's for sale. OMG I feel so disgusted. They shouldn't keep their own stuff inside the fridge that's for sale. Who will want to buy it? I left with speechless.

A SCAM in the parking lot. This Home Depot contracted a towing company that sits in the lot and tows cars within minutes of getting there. I came to Home Depot with every intention of buying a grill. Parked my car. Walked to the corner to read a sign. Walked back and my car was gone. 3 min total. My car was probably being towed in front of my face without me even noticing. The Home Depot manager in the store gave me the tow company's number and when I called the car wasn't even at the tow company lot yet. A total of 10min. No manger at the store had any control over this. They told me to call the regional manager Gary who of course wasn't picking up. When Gary finally called back about 10 minutes after I picked up the car from the pound and paid already. He called his friend John at the tow place and had my money refunded. How convenient for them and how horrible for the paying customer that bought a grill at the store and was stranded in the parking lot for 3 hours with a huge grill.

North Avenue store in Chicago has completely unraveled. No one answers the phone when you call; you get transferred to several places, the phone rings and then you're back at the service desk. Just took my lunch hour to see someone to order one set of blinds after a measure earlier in the week; two people sitting there--0 motivation to do anything-claimed "someone is ahead of you." Waited an hour and left.Try Menards or Lowes. Can't be worse than this.

Never use Home Depot installation. They do not finish the job and do not return phone calls. As of today I have let 25 vm for Denise Kadlcek and Joesph Jackson with no return calls. This is so bad I will finish myself but I can't get a return call as to type of crown molding used which remains half installed after 6 months. I had to complete some of project myself otherwise I'd still be waiting for lazy Susan and shelves. I just want to finish crown molding if only someone would call me with the type they initially used

Three employees standing around chatting but the only one who can help me with an appliance is paved on the intercom. Three times. I wait and wait. And I ask the three 3 of them what the deal is, and they inform me employee is on their lunch break and therefore no one to help me. So I went to Best Buy and they helped me. Better price and even helped me get it into my car.

I purchased about 1,000 sq. ft. of laminate flooring from Home Depot with installation. HD chose G.S Floor Designs, Inc., 845 W University Dr.,, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, to do the installation. Once GS finally started the project, there was one delay after another. The job that was scheduled to take a week in June was not done until August 1. By the time I was done with GS, I ended up having to pay about $3,000 more than the original installation quote. The work was also poorly done. When GS said the installation was complete, it looked terrible because they had not installed the thresholds or the small molding that is customarily installed to conceal the edges of the floor boards where the floor met the exterior walls of the apartment. When I insisted upon the molding, I had to pay more and the job took another month. After the installer repeatedly failed to show up to complete the job when promised, I had to hire someone else to finish it and touch up the paint. (The GS workmen had also left the newly-painted walls in terrible shape.) GS denied my claim for compensation for the poor quality of work, failing to finish the job, the significant under-estimate of the installation costs and the horrible delays. I did not hear anything from Home Depot after GS denied my claim. NEVER AGAIN!By the way, I have had very good experience using Lowes for projects like this. Go there!

Lived in the area from 1982 to 2007 shopped this store 1000s of times, while visiting Chicago this passed week I decided to take a walk and shop the store for some needed project for my sister house here in the city. After deciding I would order the more expensive stuff online I returned it back to the shelf. After paying for the items I did take I get stopped by Loss Preventing and accused of suspected shoplifting, since they had no proof or reason to check my bag or me they start calling me an a_ hole, bi-h and more. He continues harassing me n calling me out trying to provoke a reaction. These are the two that harassed me the one closest did all the talking one in background stayed quite allowing the harassment

I rented a truck from here specifically because I needed something with a ramp. I was told the ramp was functioning and all was well with the truck, so I rented and went on my way. However, when I got to my house to load my (very heavy) copper kettle drums, I discovered the ramp would not come out of the truck. It was locked in, and nothing I could do would get the ramp out. I called Home Depot, and he told me all he could do was suggest I bring the truck back, and they try to figure it out. This was not an option for me though because I had a gig to get to ASAP. This put me in a horrible position, and I VERY luckily found someone to help me manually lift the drums into the truck, but I quite literally almost lost the entire gig because of Home Depot's negligence. I was offered no compensation or discounted rate for this horrible experience. When I returned the truck, the worker also tried to get the ramp out to no avail. It was obviously broken/stuck. I was still offered no compensation or apology of any kind. So disappointing.

my first attempt wasnt posted, not sure why. But I will never be using the rental service again with Home Depot. I had rented a van 3 weeks ahead of time to ensure availability, yet the night before move in day I receive a text from home depot stating my reservation has been cancelled, and that's it. So I call and im told there's nothing they can do. Unacceptable, truly unnacceptable. Like at least do something to accommodate or help me. maybe a free plant or some screws or something? Idk man. bottom line, I'll never use homedepot for rental needs again And I would recommend the same thing to any other person looking to rent a vehicle from them. Use uhaul.

I have had 2 estimates from HD. The first came to my house and estimated my kitchen remodel as $17,000. It ended up costing $6,000 in all from an outside contractor who did an excellent job. The second was done over the phone. Without asking for any measurements, he estimated $15,000. It cost $9,000 from a different outside contractor I found through word of mouth. The bottom line is---don't go with what might seem easy by going to a big box store (I love BB stores, by the way, just not for services). You will be taken.
