I've been going to Tommy's for over a decade and they've always been super helpful. If you're looking to get your guitar setup for a reasonable price, your next addition to your collection, or even a ventriloquist dummy, you're in the right spot! If anyone ever asks, I always point them to Tommy's. Good folks, good prices, and supporting a local business? Couldn't be better! I'm happy to consider myself a happy customer and they will be getting my business for the foreseeable future.

When my acoustic guitar showed signs of warping, my guitar teacher recommended Tommy’s. Tommy took my acoustic, diagnosed the problem and made it sound like new again. I subsequently took my handmade albeit buzzing classical guitar to Tommy for repair. Again, he made it sing beautifully again, noting the bowed neck due to humidity changes and giving me instructions for maintenance. He even offered to buy it from me because it now sounded so incredibly rich and resonant. Besides skill and expertise in guitar repair, I appreciate the personalized care Tommy and his crew give to their customers. As a native Chicagoan, I get the “old Chicago” feel with Tommy: straight-talking and direct with undercurrents of authentic passion and caring. Visiting with him and his people is more than a repair shop visit: it’s a cultural experience. I trust them completely and will continue to take my beloved instruments to him for regular care.

This shop here is great with repairs, I had unplayable Yamaha with high action and many other problems. Tommy sr. Took care of it and did his best work on it . Really recommend checking this place out.

Just found this place.The owner is really great great to talk to, knows his stuff very frinedly they always take care of my guitars here, very resonable pricing, if youve been to big box music stores then the diffrence will be night and day, i dont know whats going on with the big box store but no one helps you and no one knows anything anymore

Walking into the shop felt like the bookstore from The Never Ending Story, but with guitars. The folks there are knowledgeable and attentive, and I was surprised and relieved at their welcoming attitude towards this hillbilly with a 2 year old in company. My wife, son, and myself were driving up from central Illinois to meet with some old friends for a jam night reunion and thought it would be a good idea to get a new guitar to mark the memory. We searched market place half the drive and saw the one. Finding out in all of Chicago it was only 4 blocks away from our friends. Thanks for everything Tommy's, and the advice on purchasing a stand, rather than a case (which would have for sure been more expensive), was a much appreciated bit of wisdom. Keep it visible, keep it audible
