Hotel took destination fees randomly and did not answer back my inquires. Location and hotel itself were good but very dissappointed at what they charged.I made two reservations, one for three nights and the other for two nights. Hotel charged destination fees of $30 for three nights (charged twice but remove one when checking out). For two nights reservation, they charged me $60. why those are charged differently? I asked them to clarify for destination fees and refund but havent heard from them for few weeks.

Being from Chicago, I have never booked an overnighter in River North. For my 50th birthday, it was time to book that trip with my sister and daughter to celebrate. We stayed during a very busy St Patrick's weekend. There was a minimal wait to check in and the process was quick. Splurging, we reserved a suite on the 9th floor. When we exited the elevator a maintenance man and a cleaning lady were talking about the heater that was not working in what we would understand to be our room. It was cold in our room, initially we thought nothing of it as we wanted to sit for a few moments before grabbing a drinkie downstairs and heading out. I put the heat up believing that it would be warm in the suite when we got back. Perhaps the issue was fixed? Apparently not. After grabbing a drink, eating and taking a quick swim in a very tepid pool with an amaz view - we were freezing. But, we were off again to partake in bad singing. When we finally settled in for the evening, it was super cold in the room. We called downstairs who brought up a few extra blankies about a half hour after the call. We were told to let the desk know in the morning so that they could provide a credit towards the room. That credit? about $40 off - including the $10 credit that came with the room. This was an almost $900 a night room that staff knew that the heat was not working.Neither was the drainage on the whirlpool. There were hairs in the whirlpool that I had to clean prior to using. For a suite that hosted up to 6 guests, we were left 3 big towels. The sliding door for the bathroom was off track and difficult to close.Morning coffee was not even tolerable - but disgusting, burnt and empty in one of the canisters.Being a local, I understand that nothing is perfect, yet for the amount of cash spent, I expect to have an excellent experience. My daughter has stayed at various airbnbs and hotels around the city and said that there are cheaper and better values.I do not recommend the splurge on a suite. Not worth the crazy money for one evening when you do not have a basic amenity - heat.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with very friendly staff and well-appointed rooms. I appreciated the security measures in place, such as the locked doors with card access after 9 pm, which made me feel safe throughout my stay. Room service was great. Our room was thoroughly cleaned by the time we returned in the afternoon yesterday. It was a pleasant feeling to return to a tidy room after a full day of exploring the city. However, I was disappointed by the comfort of the beds, especially considering the nightly room rate. The pillows deflated easily, and the mattresses were excessively firm, making it challenging to sleep comfortably during both nights of my stay. I ended up getting less than 5 hours of sleep last night due to the discomfort of the beds.Rooms: I wish that the beds were more comfortable. I have had trouble with pain in my back for a long time, and the beds made it a bit worse. It was difficult for my friend and I to adjust ourselves comfortably in our own beds to where our necks didn’t hurt or our backs.Safety: A key card is used to gain access to the hotel after 9 PM. This was an important safety measure for guests.Walkability: It was easy to walk to a variety of restaurants, stores and activities throughout the city. Less than 20 minute walk to the Willis Tower.

Absolutely stunning place to stay! The rooms are impeccably clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The interior designer/architect also deserves a 5-star rating. It feels just like home, with modern touches that aren't overwhelming. I'm here for a conference and couldn't be happier that I chose not to stay at the conference hotel (Hilton). I'll definitely seek out the Sonesta brand wherever I travel from now on. The only critique I have is regarding the quality of the toilet paper, which I would rate as 3 stars—it's extremely poor.

I had a wonderful time at this hotel. The location was prime & in particular Antwonne the door guy went above & beyond to help me at all costs along with Vania the front desk girl both stood out amongst the rest. The entire staff was great actually. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone in town or visiting Chicago!Nearby activities: Staple restaurants, breath taking views & enough Chicago Wind to blow you towards your next amazing experience in this great city!Walkability: Located in a great part of the city with lots of places to view & see.Food & drinks: Tons of fun & unique places to eat & experience.

What can I even say about this hotel? My partner and I are locals but wanted to do something for our 5 year anniversary and brought our dog along as well. The shared spaces in the hotel were amazing, the fireplace area is really cozy and the pool was warm, decently sized and had a beautiful view of the city.Even better than this was the bellman Antwonne. He was incredibly nice to us and even more so to our dog. And I have to also give a shoutout to Katelyn at the front desk who made us feel like absolute royalty in our anniversary! So many details that did not go unnoticed.Lastly, the suite was really big, had a great view, and it was extremely comfortable. I also appreciate that our dog was welcome in shared spaces and not just the room. This has definitely started a tradition and we’ll be back next year.

There are two Roal Sonesta hotels in Chicago. We actually thought we had booked the other location. That being said, this was a happy accident. Rooms, staff and location were great . Shout out to Shaunda and Katelyn for their assistance. We are already looking forward to coming back.Safety: Walked day and night with no concerns.Walkability: We were close to everything with the exception of the big museums.

Love the pool! I stayed with my wife and children in mid February looking for a place with good pool reviews. I'm very happy to report that the pool was WARM! A thermometer floating in the water reported about 86 degrees. The pool is on the smaller side, we had the place to ourselves on a Thursday night but I would imagine on the weekends a dozen people would fill the thing up. Once the kids were done the wife and I enjoyed the deep hot tub in the Junior Spa Suite. The rooms and pool were clean and in good shape, will stay again!

A nice place for the Concierge Day celebration. The light bites and dessert bar was good. There were special cocktails for the celebration.
