I haven't even stayed here yet but based on the incredible customer service I received I couldn't be more excited for my upcoming stay.
I had made an honest mistake when booking and reached out to the hotel for help. Tim called back amd couldn't of been more understanding or more helpful. Very impressed and very appreciative. Thanks again Tim!

Amazing boutique hotel with an unparalleled rooftop bar.
Walkability: Lots of restaurants in this Wicker Park area. Blue line train is 50’ away.

Overall the hotel has a lot going for it. Close to the rail station, eateries, bars, and shops. Elevator up to the rooms was brutally slow and the rooftop pool is..dainty.

Our flight home got cancelled and we couldn’t get another flight until the next night. Luckily we were able to snag a last minute reservation at The Robey for our unplanned extra day. We had been staying downtown in the River North area and so jumped at the chance to check out Wicker Park from this beautiful hotel.
And the hotel is just that - stunning. Like, jaw-droppingly beautiful. The lobby is all marble with lots of the original features of the art deco office building. The staff were polished and polite and we appreciated the quick and informative check in.
We got the last available room which was a standard queen. It was beautifully decorated and well stocked, but absolutely tiny. It was fine for a night when we didn’t unpack anything, but would have been really uncomfortable for longer.
The bathroom was all glass, which was great from a design perspective but impractical for a couple sharing - if one of us used the bathroom in the night the whole room was lit up. Also not much privacy.
I really appreciated the complimentary mini bar and Le Labo toiletries.
The rooftop bar has an incredible view. We didn’t get to have a drink because we went up for a nightcap and were told it was full, even though there were a bunch of empty tables. I guess you need a reso? (It was a Sunday night)
All in all, lovely hotel and I would definitely stay here again if the king rooms are bigger. I wouldn’t do the standard queen again unless I was alone. It’s just too small.
Oh and Cafe Robey is delightful! Definitely get breakfast/brunch there one day!

August 24 Chicago Airshow update:
Rooms are so SMALL as well as bathrooms. Service was questionable, especially about pressing evening outfits. We had family visiting from Tel Aviv and Singapore, and we had 3 rooms since it was so close to the house.
The rooftop bar was amazing and the delight of the experience. Overall, people were just okay with a pretty costly experience.
It is conveniently located close to all main attractions in the Wicker and Bucktown. the rooms are definitely small with pretty average furnishings. Excellent views from the rooftop terrace and excellent view of the Skyline with a pretty average bar. I would stay in this hotel only in an emergency case....
Rooms: Super small!

The loft bed was cool for our kid, however I was disappointed by lack of office desk to work on my laptop.
Noteworthy details: Option of 2 bars & 1 restaurant attached to the hotel & Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Was bit disappointed by the s8ze of roof top pool.

We did not stay at this hotel but used the pool for a few hours. The view is incredible and the staff were super friendly and accommodating! The pool is not very big but it did the job; we enjoyed sipping our drinks by the pool and eating the fries. Because it was an overcast, the $20 pool fee was waived in lieu of spending at least $20 in food and drink which is easy to hit as one cocktail is roughly $16.

Friendly, welcoming staff that was knowledgeable about the local area. The building and rooms are a gorgeous homage to the 1920s - I loved how our room was a converted office and it was well-done, not gimmicky. Right off the blue line, it's easy to reach from O'Hare. There's plenty of nearby shops and restaurants, and going further afield is easy thanks to the L. Will stay here again.

The views from Robey’s roof top and the second floor lounge were so great. The decor is amazing, the hotel itself was a little dark but that’s my personal preference.
The Cafe had great brunch food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay here and visiting friends in Chicago and would definitely stay at The Robey again.

We usually book a bit closer to the city when we stay in Chicago but we decided to try the Robey. We were pleasantly surprised! The rooms are done in a very lofty feel and were very comfortable. The pool and cabana club up top is an added bonus for the summer season. Give it a look if you are planning a trip to the great city of Chicago!
