This hotel is exceptional. We stayed during Chicago Marathon weekend and everything was awesome. Room was clean and elegant, beds were super comfortable and the entire property is simply breathtaking. Our room had an amazing view of downtown Chicago. It's very nice, would def stay here again!

I stayed here for 4 nights Aug 2023. The hotel and gym are in the same building with the entrance and elevators and very crowded with people coming to work out at all hours of the day and evenings. The whole building smells like sweat. The outdoor poor was highly crowded and full of kids to the extent that the water appeared cloudy. Each time I tried to swim (including early morning and end of the day when it was “adult time” I kept getting strands of hair wrapped around my fingers. It is the dirtiest pool I have ever personally experienced. The room itself was nice, no complaints. Staff interactions were either great or awful. On the day that I was checking out I had called downstairs requesting a late checkout because of being on a work call 11am-12pm (checkout time is 11am but can be extended to 2pm). After this I had 2 maids come into the room and 4 calls from the reception desk all during my 1hr Zoom work call to ask me when I was checking out. When I complained about the 6 interruptions, the front desk guy tells me over the phone verbatim “We are trying to run a business.” It was so incredibly inappropriate I could not wait to get my things and check out. What an awful way to end what was a mediocre stay at best. This place is trying to do it all, be a gym, a hotel, be cool and trendy but really the experience is like being away at an overnight camp at a crowded smelly gym with a disgusting pool and a mixture of pleasant and rude staff members.Noteworthy details: The hotel is literally inside of the gym, no separation in entrances, check in, or elevators. Expect the smell of plastic and sweat normally in gyms while you crown to get in and out with people coming to work out in the elevators and hotel overall.

First time staying at the Hotel at Midtown. Stayed 2 days for a wedding. The outdoor pool area was a hit and the restaurant staff was amazing; all hotel staff for that matter were amazing. The access to all of the amenities the club provided made the $300+ room rate worth every penny.

We had a great stay. The staff at the front desk were warm and accommodating. David learned our name at check-in and had us feeling important every time we passed through. It cannot be overstated how incredible the athletic facilities are - first class. It is an unusual setup but it worked out great for us. We exercised everyday and enjoyed the eucalyptus sauna. The area has an adjacent grocery, and the hotel is right on road with a bike path that got us (on scooters) all over the city.Walkability: It's in plaza but the adjacent road has a bike path that connects to major routes.

Not a great spot to stay unless the reason for your visit incorporates the club's extensive and beautiful fitness spaces. As mentioned across other reviews, the noise and side activities from fitness is a nuisance (banging until 1030p which resumed in the morning at 605a). That's a very different and disruptive departure from the typical hotel stay experience. Some pluses... blackout curtains in the guest room actually black out light! The bathroom's shower fixture was very nice with easy adjustments and great pressure. Lavazza coffee is in the rooms and is a nice touch. Some downsides... guest room air conditioning is controlled centrally by engineering. You cannot control your own sleep environment which is annoying. I asked the front desk twice for a fan, it was twice promised but housekeeping never showed up. I was also surprised to have a $45 resort fee added to my room. That wasn't evident to me when I booked the hotel (likely my fault, not theirs) but still too much. I also found the food surprisingly salty (major salty). It was a decent stay, not one that I will repeat again and certainly not worth the $500 I spent to stay for one night.

When checking in there hotel, the staff explained that the facility was a fitness club that happens to have a hotel. And that is exactly how it felt, the hotel was an afterthought. The shower didn’t work and, although they fixed it, it didn’t seem a priority. You are not able to control the temp in your room which they keep at 74. The location was not in there nicest of neighborhoods. The room was clean and spacious. I was in to take in a few Cubs games and it was a $40 Uber each way. If you are looking to take in a game or two and want to be close to activities, this is not the hotel for you.

Absolutely awful. I wish I could give zero stars. Confirmed a room in June for a trip this weekend for my husband and son to see a cubs game. Without any authorization, they cancelled the room reservation and are refusing to get us another room. “Management “ ( and I use the term loosely because they haven’t been able to manage anything ) admits that the person who cancelled the reservation should never have done it, but still, they cannot/will not give them a room. Numerous phone calls to them have proven to be nothing but frustrating. Being on hold for over 15 minutes and then disconnected. And then, when we called back, no one is answering… Giving some lame excuse about lollapalooza and how hard rooms are to find … But I had a confirmed room set back in June. So now the whole trip is up in the air because we can’t find accommodations. Let me tell you, I would think long and hard before I did business with these people. They’re absolutely unscrupulous and dishonest. I honestly don’t know how a reputable hotel could ever see this behavior as professional. Be very careful if you ever even consider this hotel. Shame on them.

Great amenities if you’re in to fitness! But we had to hear sounds of people dropping weights everyday starting very early in the morning then throughout the day. For that reason, I probably will not stay here again. Maybe this should be a fitness center where people are not permitted to drop weights?

We had a great stay here. Thank you for accommodating my family and our electric rides. See you all next year as we have found our go to home away from home now. Staff was very friendly and the hotel stays clean!

Worse than scam people, booked one night through Expedia app for $245 , came out paying extra 250 for the hotel between lodging, parking, resort benefits which didn’t use but you have to pay .Bad experience really

Very friendly staff. Clean room/bathroom. Nice 2-floor gym, awesome equipment.Negatives:Morning of check-out, cleaning person knocked at 8:50AM to ask if I would like my room cleaned.AC unit has to be adjusted by the front desk.. I didn't know this since there's no sign/message, and room was freezing overnight as I thought I adjusted the temp. before going to sleep.Doors slam super hard/loud.Water refilling station/ice machine not working on main/1st floor.Minor but, not in a prime area for late night activities in terms of what's walkable, like restaurants, bars, grocery shopping, etc.

We were in town on business in March 2023 and planned to stay at the Hotel at Midtown for just over a week to try to squeeze in some sightseeing and workouts, but we ended up leaving several days early as soon as my last work meeting was over. The first room we received had a cracked window ledge that would intermittently vibrate very loudly at various frequencies and made sleeping impossible. While we did get a different room the following evening, changing rooms was a multi-hour hassle and required several phone calls and trips to the front desk and I honestly felt like I was a bother to the staff for having a complaint; we did not get to explore the city that afternoon as we ended up having to wait for hours to move our things. The second room had quiet windows, but as one of the other reviewers mentioned, the thermostats in the rooms do not appear to work and so we were freezing for the rest of our stay. Also, while we were aware that there is no breakfast provided, we were hoping to find breakfast items at the Grab and Go counter. Sadly, the underwhelming selection consisted of five or six pastries and a choice of coffees, with no option for something more substantial (unless you like salad-type items for breakfast). Maybe I'm picky, but for a hotel linked to an athletic club, it sure would have been convenient to have a healthy, quick, calorie- and protein-rich option to grab on the way to work or even after a workout. We ended up getting all our food elsewhere for our entire stay. To conclude, while we did get an apology for the first room and thankfully did not get charged any fees for leaving early, neither did we get any kind of incentive to continue our stay. Although from the beautiful website the concept of the hotel seemed genuinely intriguing and may be a good choice for some, unfortunately we cannot recommend the hotel and will definitely stay elsewhere the next time we're visiting Chicago.Pros: Convenient location to downtown, access to gym on site and parking is included in price of room, unique decor, fast Wi-Fi, mini refrigerator in roomCons: Rooms have inadequate maintenance, no temperature control in room, selection of leg workout machines at gym oddly lacking and ONLY 3 SQUAT RACKS (!), limited "grab and go" breakfast options, no microwave
