Love this venue. I have seen many live performances, the place is a nice size and clean. They sell snacks and have great liquor prices.

Great music venue in a theater space. Lots of great food nearby along 18th St for before or after your show.

Thalia Hall in Chicago is a fantastic venue that perfectly blends history, charm, and modern amenities, making it an ideal spot for live music events. Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a performance by The Paper Kites, and the experience was nothing short of delightful.
One of the first things that stood out was the cleanliness of the venue. Thalia Hall is well-maintained, with tidy restrooms and a polished appearance throughout the space. This attention to detail contributes to a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall experience for concertgoers.
The friendly staff truly makes a difference at Thalia Hall. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and a helpful demeanor. The bartenders, in particular, were exceptional. The bartender who served us was not only efficient but also engaging and personable. They took the time to chat with patrons and made everyone feel welcomed, adding a personal touch to the evening.
The acoustics in the hall are impressive, allowing for an intimate listening experience that truly complements the performances. The ambiance is cozy, with a mix of historic charm and modern flair, making it easy to relax and enjoy the music. The seating arrangement is well-designed, ensuring that even those at the back can have a great view of the stage.
Watching The Paper Kites perform in such a setting was magical. The atmosphere was electric, and the combination of their beautiful music and the venue's charm created an unforgettable experience. The crowd was respectful and engaged, which further enhanced the enjoyment of the concert.
Overall, Thalia Hall is a gem in Chicago's music scene. Its cleanliness, friendly atmosphere, and excellent staff contribute to a wonderful experience for anyone attending a show. I highly recommend checking out upcoming performances at Thalia Hall—whether you're a fan of the artists or just looking for a great night out, you won't be disappointed!

Air conditioning was out, whatever that means? 90 degrees outside over 100 inside. I hope nobody stroked out. Your stamping system doesn’t work very well when you’re completely dripping in sweat from head to toe. Why spend the extra money for a balcony ticket when they just let anybody and everybody up there. Venue did have a decent sound though.

First time at this venue, loved the architecture of the building and the staff was so kind offering free water and making sure we all stayed safe. The temperature inside was super hot. They were really good at providing free water grateful for since my dancing booty welcomed it. Parking was a challenge but great place to see live music. Thanks for making my Thursday night.

I feel violated by their managements choice to not provide any air conditioning. I chose to not sweat profusely for several hours during the disco bscuits show tonight. Talk about not caring for the health of your patrons. Never going here again! ?? EDIT*** hey management, instead of making excuses, it woulda been better if you offered people refunds since the venue was unsafe and many didn't stay. Or at least rented some portable AC units. This show was on Thursday and I was told Friday was just as bad. For shame! ??♂️

Small venue that makes it hard to see the stage unless you get there early to get a spot up front or bought a VIP seat. Not sure if this is an issue with the event i went to being oversold or if this is just the way it is. Definitely seems like its meant more for seated events and not one where patrons are intended to stand for the entirety of the show.
The above issues I could deal with and maybe come back as there are other venues like this in the city. However, I would never come back to this venue due to the way some of the staff/"security" treats patrons. Not sure if I encountered some bad apples, but security seemed to be power tripping and needlessly escalating situations. Never experienced this type of behavior from any venue in my 10+ years of going to shows in the city. I'm not sure if Thalia Hall contracts out security, but the staff at this location need to be retrained or replaced. It seems to be an issue with this location, because I had attended a show here in 2015 and the friends I went with complained about how hostile security acted throughout the crowd (plus you can see this from some of the reviews on here). Fortunately, the acts I see rarely book shows at this venue, but if they do in the future, I would not attend. I would not recommend this venue to anyone and will urge any music acts to reconsider a different venue.
Plus, air conditioning was out when I went (during a heat wave) making for unsafe, hot conditions in the venue. Good on them for keeping the show going but also seems irresponsible.

Went there for the “Thalia Hall: Free for All” event and was very impressed by the organization and the general vibe. The place is so beautiful and there’s so much fun and different stuff going on at each level. I’ve been to this venue a few times over the years and I always feel safe and have a good time. It’s also in a great neighborhood :)

I recently attended the Lollapalooza after shows and had the time of my life. Tyla was amazing ? and the venue was awesome!!
Even the security at the door was top notch! They were super nice and very helpful. Shout out to the bearded guy with the NY hat - you kept that line moving and with a positive attitude. I felt safe AND welcomed , which is rare when I encounter security. I see why Thalia has the #1 rating for concert venues in the city. A wonderful venue, great security and great events.

Great place to see a show. It is difficult to find street parking near there so I recommend a ride share or public transportation.
