TCF Bank appear to be a good Bank This Bank branch should be shut down. I advise anyone not to use this bank branch.

As a customer with TCF for YEARS (15+) I will be closing my account. I have never been so frustrated with a bank as I have with TCF bank. The idea that during this past 2 years with COVID, that TCF makes accounts dormant (yes, my savings account) gets tagged as dormant because there is no activity. Does TCF really expect activity on savings accounts during COVID? I was told the only way to clear this is to go into a branch. I am NOT going into a branch to correct this as TCF should not do this WITHOUT contacting the account holder to see if the account is active and just not able to put into the account. I mean, HOW IN THE WORLD WOULD SOMEONE LEAVE AN ACCOUNT AS DORMANT THAT HAS MONEY IN IT?. I called, spoke to a representative and then a supervisor and was told the only way I can clear this up is if I go into a branch. I can tell you, that if I do go into a branch it will be to close out my account. I will take my money elsewhere. Somewhere it the bank does not tag my account as dormant. Very upset and beyond frustrated

Look else where! After several years being with them, they neglected to help me with a fraud online purchase! After 4 calls, almost 3hrs in total, the representative basically said to Next time watch where I purchase !! So visited the TCF here in Burbank, IL and told them I can cancelling my acct... They didn't really bother to ask why, nor where they interested to know!! Seems like they are being bought out or merging with Huntington Bank but I still wouldn't want my hard earned $$ with them!!! Chase Bank is so much professional and they care for their customers, technology so no superior that TCF garbage, which is why they are still my MAIN preferred bank!

This is a good bank. Checking is free. Savings account is not the best. Money market is better but no FDIC on that. I like they have ATM at CTA stations and branches inside Jewel Osco. I have been a customer for more than ten years and I have not had problems. But that's because I don't really use it for anything other than checking.

I have been trying to get my money out of my IRA in to another institution for 5 months. Every time I try to call them and find out what is happening with my money and why it is not being transferred, I get a different answer every time and am then transferred to a different department. Also there is no way to contribute to an IRA with them without sending a check to the bank. Very antiquated system and they do not assign account numbers, for IRAs so good luck trying to identify what account you are referencing with them or with another institution.

Can I get negative Stars?????? Kept $20 to close my account unless I send a letter! Its a check,,,, Making $ off of their Customers that are leaving. Take that $20 and put it into an account that helps trains your staff better!!! Horible Bank!!!!

Horrible bank, save yourself the stress and headaches. They are not for their customers. Literally the shittiest bank you can go with. After being a loyal customer for almost 10 years they treat you like trash. Go to any other bank DO NOT do business with this horrible bank.

I did not choose this bank and would never do so again. They delayed my mortgage because they couldn't get their act together by one month. Their web site is crap and does not function properly. Their customer service is dismal. You can't log in, yes, even when you have all the proper IDs. Every other bank I use has zero problems, this bank has issues EVERY time. This bank merged with chemical bank, they were supposed to let everyone know by letter. I never got it and, clearly hundreds of other people didn't because when you tried to use your account after the merger it didn't work. When you called, you got to sit on hold for 2 HOURS. Customer service is rude and unhelpful. I will try to move my loan ASAP and never, ever, use this bank again.

Waited 40Mins to speak with someone At the Branch About Opening An Account, Just To Be Told By A TCF Employee that I couldn’t get a debit card today because the system was down.
