Chris is a fantastic trainer and an even better human. Loves animals and wants what is best for your family and your pup. We could never put a price on the work Chris did with us and our new family member. Everything he teaches is simple (once learned) yet super effective. I would highly recommend Takacs Dog Training if you want real success, hard work and fun training for your new pup. Thank you, Chris, for providing us with such a wonderful experience.

10/10 would recommend. Chris is a miracle worker. We decided to get our Beagle, Daisy trained since we had our first child on the way. I’m incredibly happy with not only the progress but the entire process. Chris built a custom plan based around our goals and helped us hit each one. Chris is so kind and positive, he really makes everything enjoyable and we looked forward to him coming over.(he has a great sense of humor also). Chris helped build the confidence in not only Daisy, but myself. I take Daisy to work and even the UPS guy noticed the vast improvement in her behavior. We actually found Chris through google and I’m very thankful we did. Until we found Chris, we had no clue where to even start. And now I feel even closer and have a special bond with Daisy. Chris, from the heart THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I cannot say enough good things about Chris Takacs and how much he helped us with training our Golden Retriever, Humphrey. I was searching for someone to do in-home dog training and stumbled upon Chris' website. I reached out to him and he got back to me the very next day. We started by scheduling a phone consultation where he explained his training process in detail. He also asked me questions about Humphrey, what kind of issues we were having with him and what we wanted to achieve with his training. I was very impressed with his questions, knowledge and how thorough he was. We then agreed on a plan of 4 individual sessions for Humphrey. Chris was on time for each session and stayed as long as necessary to make sure we covered everything that was planned for that day's session. He also answered any questions we had and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. In between sessions, he would text us just to see how things were going and to make sure we weren't having any issues. In one text, I mentioned we were having trouble getting Humphrey to come in from outside when called. Chris responded and provided me with some simple tips that worked like a charm and quickly resolved our issue. After our last session, he provided us with a formal training certificate and took a picture of me and Humphrey with a little graduation hat on his head, which I thought was a nice touch. Even after the training sessions are complete, he continues to provide support by answering any questions you might have for the life of the dog. Quite simply, Chris was awesome and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. If you need help training your dog, you absolutely will not regret reaching out to Chris.

We have a Great Pyrenees puppy, we are so grateful we found Chris from Chris Takacs Dog Training. We really liked that he would come to our home and could observe and advise us in our daily environment. He provided great information, a listening ear, and reasonable techniques to help us obtain our training goals. We think he's a good communicator, and he is available by email, text or phone when we need him.

She did it! It was a slow start. Nina was quite anxious and afraid of Chris during our first meeting but as you can see she did so well and graduated her obedience course. We worked very hard. She is a quick learner and Chris gives great tips on how to work around every potential Obstacle to ensure your dog will gain co dispense, be co trolled and well mannered. Nina is just quite the exuberant greater but she knows she has to sit and now sits and wiggles for attention rather than jumping. Chris is patient, accessible and always finds time to give feedback.I would recommend Chris to anyone wanting to train their dog and I still believe private is the best option and most efficient path.

Chris was a wonderful dog trainer! He equipped my family and I with the skill sets to develop Ace into a great dog. Ace has come a long way and continues to thrive based on the training and tips shared with us during the program. The best part of the program is that Chris comes to your place of choice to train and work with you dog. For example, if your preference is your home then he created the development plan for that. If you prefer to meet outdoors in public he accommodates for that as well. Selecting a great dog trainer is important to the success of your dog so why not choose the best? Hands down I would choose Chris every time. Oh did I mention even after your 6 sessions are completed, you are able to call, text or email Chris with any behavioral questions for the life span of your dog. Glad we found Chris!

Chris is a wonderful in home trainer. We knew once we brought home another dog someday we’d be getting a trainer. After a week with our puppy I had him on the line. My husband and I agreed we wanted to take the positive reinforcement route, and that is exactly how Chris trains. Each session I felt more comfortable and confident that I had the skills to help her succeed. Thank you again.

If I could give Chris more than 5 stars I would! Incredibly easy to work with, clearly cares a great deal about the dogs he works with and was very accommodating to a hectic schedule. His knowledge was immense and he explained things extremely well. Not only did he provide immeasurable help with the training, but he made sure I was setup for continued, elongated success as a dog owner. Anyone looking for assistance with positive reinforcement training could find no one better!

Tito is a nearly 5 yr old pit mix we rescued a little over 4 months ago. This being our first dog, we all needed some guidance to make this transition as smooth as we possibly could, especially for Tito. We did not have a lot of history on his background but he definitely had some separation anxiety. We looked into quite a few options for training, but ultimately decided Chris was the best choice, and I’m so glad we did! Chris is so patient and knowledgeable and gave us so many tools to work with. Tito has gained so much confidence and we have as well as new dog owners. Chris would always check in to see how Tito was doing and to let me know that he was always available if I ever had any questions. Knowing that we have access to Chris’ expertise for the rest of Tito’s life is just one of the many reasons we know we made the right choice. He truly cares about the dog AND the family and making sure they have the best possible life together. Thank you so much Chris! It really was a pleasure.

Chris was absolutely amazing with Maggie our 1 year old Border Collie. He was so patient and so knowledgeable. He taught us the skills we needed to make life with Maggie more enjoyable. She is a ball of energy and before the training with Chris we didn’t know what to do to help control it. Now she walks great on a leash, she does not bolt out the door, she has great recall, she doesn’t jump on our guests and we enjoy having her. She’s still full of energy, but we are now equipped with the skills to reign it in. We highly recommend!

Chris is hands down amazing! He is knowledgeable, patient, and professional. Our 6 year old, Australian Cattle dog, Denali, is high energy and reactive with other dogs, especially on walks (to the point where it was just embarrassing). With Chris’s expertise, skills, and “homework”, we see huge overall improvements with Denali. Not only does Denali act like a new dog with leash walking, but we feel so much more confident in our skills as dog owners too. I no longer believe the saying: “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” thanks to Chris. My old regret is that we didn’t hire Chris sooner!

Chris was thorough in the beginning, letting us know what was expected during the program and gave us homework to work with Bowdie in between sessions with Chris.Our Bowdie was very anxious with visitors, jumped on visitors -including us, barked at noises outside, demand barked when he wanted attention or needed to go outside and would run off in the yard and not “recall” at all. Typical puppy behavior that was just unacceptable for us as he grew closer to the age of 1. I really didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, but now we are very happy with the results since March and are able to enjoy Bowdie more instead of the constant daily struggles of him being rambunctious.Chris checked in weekly with me to see how Bowdie was doing and along with his 4 in home sessions, he provides (dog) life long contact with him should Bowdie assume a new behavior that is not acceptable. He was also very patient with us and Bowdie. I am confident that with the tools he provided, should we get another puppy in the future -we will be able to successfully apply what we have learned, with a new puppy earlier on in training, thanks to Chris!

We have a Norwich Terrier puppy named Frankie and met Chris when he was 7 months old. We’ve never had a puppy and we needed help in handling his high energy and big personality. Chris was fabulous!! He taught us how to train him to understand that being calm gets him everything he wants. He has so much knowledge in behavior patterns and signs. Frankie graduated today and we couldn’t be happier with the training Chris provided. We would definitely recommend him to anyone!!! Thanks again Chris!!!
