Eric was amazing! Hand pinned all that had to be altered and did a wonderful job, especially since the fabric was paper thin! Professional, Fast and Reasonable Price, for the work involved. I will go there again!

I bought a cashmere wool jacket in Athens more than 20 years ago. Needless to say, two decades of Chicago weather had not been kind. The lining of the jacket had disintegrated, making it hard to even put my arms in the sleeves. Eric re-lined the jacket beautifully. He is a master restorer. He even preserved the original tags and ribbons, re-stitching them to the new lining! I was hoping to maybe get another few years out of the jacket, but now it looks like I'll get another couple of decades out of it.

You get what you pay for . For my inexpensive pieces of clothing I will go to my local Evanston guy, but for my couture items, Eric knocks it out the park every time.

Update 6/2022 — Still 5 stars. Make note that at the moment all alterations are 3 weeks out. Eric shared that it's a result of not being able to find help and previous help retiring. Still worth the wait! Glad to see the shop is still here even when it's neighbors are not.

I was in Chicago for a three day business trip during which I experienced a zipper emergency involving one of the two pairs of pants I packed for the trip. Eric was extremely accommodating, even allowing me to drop off the pants slightly after his scheduled close time after I called to let him know I may be a couple minutes past 6. He replaced the broken zipper in the pants with a much sturdier alternative for $35, whereas replacing the pants altogether would have cost over $100. He had them ready for me by early afternoon the next day, preventing me from having to wear the same pants 3 days in a row during a week in which temperatures did not dip below 90 degrees. Though I no longer live in Chicago, I highly recommend giving Eric your business for any Loop-adjacent tailoring/pants-fixing needs!!

Got caught in vacation in Chicago with a button problem on my coat. Fortunately this place was right around the corner. Fixed it for me in just a few minutes and only wanted to charge me 5 bucks. Great guy and fast service. Thanks!!
