If the owner, Kim, doesn’t have it, she will find it - and she also does some in house decorating! Go in, meet Kim, find something fabulous! Absolutely cool store & great location!

I was fortunate enough to find this gem a few years ago when redoing my 1922 mediterranean revival.
Her pieces are always on point, timeless classics that can truly be integrated into any home for that one of a kind unique feel.
I’ve been very excited to see her expansion into vintage clothing! I love going in to her East Broadway location to find fashion pieces that stand out and complement my fashion style. Who wants to wear what everyone else is wearing, when you can find vintage pieces that truely complement your individual style tastes.
If you want to standout in your home and fashions this is the place to shop!!!

I would give it 0 stars if that were possible. Store may have some interesting items but the oener/worker is Incredibly rude and unhelpful. Unfriendly. Could have cared less if we were in the store or if we nade a purchase.
Good luck trying anything on, you are pointed in the general direction of the fitting room and they are too lazy to get off their perch to show a new customer where it was.
Do NOT bring your children into this store! Clearly the owner/worker has 0 experience with children. And this is not family friendly store. Ruined and ended our Mother's Day family shopping experience as she very clearly upset my grand daughter and I am furious at the way she treated us. Thanks to this store, others aling the street lost our business as well, we left the area after that.
I was kind enough not to verbalize anything in front of my grand daughter or other customers. My only comment to my grand daughter was, we need to leave we clearly are not wecome in this store.
Some of our party were looking to purchase a few items however, not afer the way we were treated.
Don't stop in here if you have children with you. My 3yo granddaughter and I left the store we were clearly not welcome. She snipped about everything she did like we weren't watching her and were allowing her to tear up the store which was not the case. One of us was with her and watching her the entire time.
It's very difficult to support small local businesses when you are treated poorly.
To the owner or employee, you are in downtown Alton, NOT upscale Hollywood or NYC.
You don't want children in your store maybe you need to post a sign on the door that says no children allowed.

Tl;Dr: Don't bring kids here and don't expect help. We got better customer service at the "gift shop" that had everything from kids toys to weed mugs.
The store is well put together and the products appeared to be of decent quality. The customer service was practically non existent and I would not recommend bringing kids here. When requesting to try on something on a mannequin, the only employee (possibly the owner) stated that they didn't know how to get the item off the mannequin and didn't offer any assistance in getting the item, showing little concern for the item or any damage that could come from incorrectly removing it from a mannequin. She showed a disproportionate amount of concern about our toddler playing in a clothes rack (a small tripping hazard, but not worth the response) and playing with a hot wheels car on the arm of a chair. The instance with the chair resulted in the employee not quite yelling from the main level up to the loft area about "not scraping" the merchandise. In the future, I'd suggest getting close enough to actually see what's happening before responding and not essentially yelling at potential customers from across the store. A plastic wheel rolling isn't scraping, and perhaps she would have seen that to from an appropriate perspective. Again, overall nice aesthetic and great location, but of the several stores we visited this was the only one that treated us so poorly. That includes a pottery store, a vintage toy store, and a general gift shop (with a bit of a stoner overtone).

The employees are not helpful if you want to try anything on. If you are a size 10-12 there is a lot of selection but not much if you fall out of that size ranges. Sizes are not marked in a clear way, sorting system is not user friendly. Very rude customer service. Don’t bring any kids or anyone who neurodivergent they will not be treated well by employees. Would not recommend.

Very cute store! Extremely vintage items. Lots to choose from- purses, shoes, shirts, pants, dresses- you name it! The lady in there working was very nice and attentive and personable. What a unique place!

I live in Chattanooga but I grew up in the Alton/Godfrey area. During Christmas break 2023, my family went to this store for the first time and we spent hundreds of dollars as we were blown away with the clothing, artifacts and other cool items. Folks, please support this unique and fun shop--you'll find something on every visit there!

A beautiful vintage coat displayed outside of the shop caught my attention! I went inside and was completely floored by the amazing vintage selections. Clothes, shoes, accessories-- all part of my love language. Thank you for returning home and creating this precious gem, Kim. Your shop will be appreciated by so many within the Alton community.

Strangelovely offers the most precious, perfect vintage clothing at an amazing price point in a perfectly curated, adorable shop. Every time I stop in I pick up another functional wardrobe piece I never knew I needed. The owner, Kim, is so helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Absolutely gorgeous and fashionable vintage selection, I spotted rare sizes, fine materials, handmade, and international pieces. They have a great mens' section!! The space is well decorated and luxe, service is impeccable, the fitting room has a proper lock!!
Some vintage boutiques drastically overprice, but not Strangelovely. This shop is a true luxury shopping experience with GOOD pricing.
Definitely WORTH IT for men and women, I will be back!
