Duck was moist and delicious. Both women working there were very friendly and helpful. Plan on trying the pork belly the next time.

A nice Chinese grocery store that has wide variety of goods. From dry goods to cooked food like roasted pork and duck. It also has Chinese vege and live fish. This is not a big store but you will find anything Chinese grocery that you may want.

I paid for my groceries but dropped my roast pork. So as I cleaned up my spill I warned the proprietor that the area was greasy. She said. " What you want your money back?" With a look like you dropped it we not giving you nothing. I stood up and motioned. Mop this area before someone is injured and they sue you. That would cost more than $9.00. I've read many reviews from folks in their community who say far worse about them. I read a review from a lady who had to jump through hoops for a $1 refund on spoiled pork bones. No way did I think of a refund for something I caused. This is still my favorite grocer near Chinatown. I'll be back again. I know you are frugal to the point of ridiculousness. I've come out ahead every time I've shopped here. Hell, it was time for an L. I realize now how hard your own community is on you and I feel sorry for you a little bit. The reviews I have read about the pork bones alone make me glad it was the pork that fell. If the meat comes off bones and the bones are spoiled...I better stop. You will think I don't love you.

Good place to get groceries. There is char sui, roasted duck, etc. There is also fresh seafood. They even have prepackaged buns from the bakery.

Buyers be aware. Don’t buy taro cake or radish cake from the BBQ counter. They use spoiled radish or taro to make these cakes. Also, they use spoiled pork bones and put salt to cover the smell, then roasted them as roasted pork bones. These bones are very salty and smell badly.

Don't buy bagged roasted pork bones from the BBQ counter at this store. The bones are the one spoiled front the meat department. They put tons of salt to conceal the bad smell and roasted them. You will regret it if you buy them .

The meat they selling there is stinky and bad quality that is completely unavailable to eat. After report to the market, their attitude is extremely bad and ask me to return to the market to convince them for $1 refund??? thank you so much! Also the staff thought customer could not understand English and Cantonese at all so they discuss and say bad words on the other side ignoring my request.

If you're in Chinatown and need ingredients to whip up a nice Chinese meal, you should be able to find what you need at Star Light. It's located on the ground floor right below Furama Restaurant. Like others have mentioned, parking can be a bit challenging, but it's feasible. This is a no frills, smallish grocery store that caters to the locals. You'll find BBQ pork and such in the back along with fish and seafood. While they do have snacks here, it's not going to be the same variety and quantity of what you would find at larger places that appeal to a broader audience. Star Light's roast park and charsiu are great depending on who makes it, so it's a roll of the dice as to quality.

Pretty good Chinese market. Good selection of meat, seafood, and produce. Missing some things I was looking for, like peanut powder and soy jerky. They also had whole roasted quail in the back, which looked pretty good. Prices seemed fair.
