Love this place. Bought a bunch of stuff there. But it’s especially the staff that impresses me. They always go out of their way to be helpful. I had in-line skate questions six months after my purchase about wheels and service recommendations. While they don’t do that sort of thing, Alex (One of their employees that skates) spent time to give me some great advice and recommendations and even went online to look up stuff for me. Alex was amazing!!!!! Will definitely keep going back to this location

I was excited for Play It Again to move to Lincoln since On the Route bikes closed, and I needed a nearby place for a road bike tune up. I can’t tell you how much I regret having my bike worked on here. They replaced a tubeless tire for me, and since then, my tire will not stay inflated. I noticed the problem immediately and have since brought my bike back into them THREE additional times for them to fix, and it’s still not resolved. When I brought it in the last time, the mechanics basically shrugged and added more air and sealant (clearly not solving the problem).
Additionally, my gears (which have never had issues previously) are continuously slipping since this “tune up”.
I can’t say I trust this bike shop and I would not recommend going here for any bike work. I spent over $250, only to come out with more problems than I went in with, and now I have to pay to take my bike to a reputable bike mechanic to fix the issues that this place caused.

as far as a sporting goods store goes, theyre pretty run of the mill. No complaints, but nothing special. HOWEVER, as a bike shop, they are top notch 10/10. They have a group of really friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable bike techs. If youre looking for advice, service, anything cycling related. you gotta make a stop here.

I have been getting my skate blades sharpened there for quite a while. Never a problem with em, they aren’t hockey guys but their attention to detail is apparent.
Bikes. So I am kicking around the idea of doing a triathlon and the bike dudes helped me tremendously. Especially the tall guy. He took the time to explain a ton of bike stuff to me and got me sent down the right track not only for the tri but just riding my bike more in general.
They maybe could have upsold me and put me in a bike I don’t need the other day … that might have lost them a couple hundred bucks in the moment but doing so kept a lifelong customer and they will end up making 10x that on the back end.
Good dudes and good shop ran by down to earth bike people.

Used quad skates are overpriced, especially with super worn down brake stoppers. Check out the Evanston location instead. Prices are much better for both used and new quad skates. Guy named John at this location was super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. 2 stars for price, 5 stars for customer service.

These guys moved on us but still have great customer service. We have bought equipment for almost every sport available from here. During COVID they helped me revive a bike. We also use them for skate sharpening. During our most recent stop my son was on the hunt for a baseball to get autographed at Wrigley. They went above and beyond and found him a new/used ball that he bought for $2.

They ruined my husband's ski boots. We went to get skis because he didn't need boots, as we got those at Viking Ski Shop and they were specifically fitted to his feet (after he seriously broke his foot past year). He picked out the skis (he picked a new pair that he was told was overstock, so he didn't pick cheap ones) and left his boots with the staff so that they could be fitted to the skis. When he picked up the skis, he found that his boots were mishandled. The boots were unbuckled and the skis stuffed in the boot. As a result the boots got misshapened and now we have to try to get them fixed. Our son is devastated and so his my husband because they were looking forward to skiing together this weekend. This is just proof that you need to go to a proper store to get the right care.

I'm extremely disappointed with a recent experience. My wife went in for ice skates last month. She asked the associate how to know if they fit and the rep simply asked "how do they feel?" Not knowing anything about skates my wife thought they were good as they were her normal shoe size. However, after one use the skates were too loose and an employee at the ice rink told her skates need to be a size smaller than normal. Yesterday I tried to return or get store credit for these $60 skates and the store associate said we cannot return them because their return policy is just one week. They offered to resell the skates and give us 30% of the resale but why should we have a $42 loss given the poor service of the original associate who just advised "how do the skates feel"? We should've tried to return them sooner, but we still feel taken advantage of.
