I have been in and out of hospitals my whole life and I have to say this is the worst hospital I have ever been to. Yesterday I was taken to the ER for my seizure disorder. halfway through my stay they put me out in the hallway where there were bright lights and lots of noise. it actually made my seizures worse to the point where even though I still felt unwell I asked to please be disconnected from iv and discharged. When I asked questions or asked for help I was often met with annoyance. additionally, I had brought a backpack with me containing my sketchbook and bag of ink and pens. i noticed when I got back home that both were missing.

Pharmacist Alex was generous with his time and help during a new medication procedure.

Had an outpatient operation which required an overnight stay. Negative experience in the dark dingy basement location. Unresponsive staff, food when it finally came was cold and not edible. Room was dirtyExperienced two different nurses; one was great the other one was mostly absent. Met the doctor for the first time the day after my operation. She passed my subsequent follow up off to a different doctor (not of my choosing) because she was too self important to follow through with me. Felt more like a 'piece of meat' instead of a cared for patient. Not my best experience at that hospital!

Absolutely wonderful experience working with Northwestern Specialty Pharmacy. They made things incredibly easy. Calls were answered with almost no hold time. Refill reminders and medications were always on time. And when I ran into some minor issues with injections, a pharmacist took half an hour to walk me through different injection techniques and answer all my questions. Granted, the only other specialty pharmacy I've worked with to date was one of the worst in the business. But Northwestern sets the standard all specialty pharmacies should aspire to.

After a colonoscopy I never heard back from the doctor with results. I now found out why: he went on vacation. The procedure was due to ongoing issues. It wasn't routine. The Dr was Adam Stein. Stay away!

Northwestern has learned nothing from the COVID-19 pandemic. Lessons include incentivizing during recruitment to gain new quality talent after layoffs and resignations and also incentivizing current employees in order to keep the good ones happy. Short staffed in a big way! As usual, actually--that's always businesses' excuse for poor service. They need to increase staff to meet the demands--maybe do some research into the typical demands on each day??? An 8-hour wait is inexcusable. A 4-hour wait, also inexucable.Security does not do their job--they walk back and forth but do nothing when a psychotic patient is harassing other patients, and they don't pay attention when a disturbed homeless person does not wear a mask, while patients are required to wear masks. Oh, yeah, they allow large numbers of homeless people to sleep in patient waiting areas---extremely unsanitary. The "docs" (PAs) do not look at patients' medical record. They only rely on patients' verbal history after they have been waiting at least 8 hours in discomfort and stress, often overnight with no sleep.. Had my "doc" done his job, I would not be in the position I'm in now. I would have had a full examination and maybe a couple of extra tests/imaging. But he decided not to look at my record even though it was linked. Now I found that I have a laceration in an organ, which could have been found that overnight. Infection, hospitalization. So many reasons to stay away from this ED unless you are a homeless addict who needs a place to sleep until your next fix.

My friend spent over 4 1/2 weeks in the cancer unit. I was not impressed at all with the services such as cleanliness of her room, timely delivery of a meal and leaving a patient in the same position for a very long time. We requested several times to please place her in the chair or a wheelchair but this happened only twice sitting in a chair. The social worker than placed her in a terrible facility afterwards. I was horrified and so upset with the outcome. They may have top notch credentials but our experience was below mediocrity!

I have never never been so intimidated or felt harassed by the staff at Northwestern memorial ER.?l tonight. My sister from another mother was taken from Tavern on Rush and admitted into the ER. I asked about her the girl at the desk not the black lady but the white girl would not let me go back and see her and told me there can only be certain visitors. She told me she had not been admitted or registered in yet but to please wait that was at 9:30 PM. When I came back she told me I could not go back and see her. She was intimidating on caring and acted like she ruined the roost disgusting for an RN a CNN whoever was running the front desk. I come from Adventist in Hinsdale and can't imagine anyone acting like this in regards to patient care patients no matter what the sociological economic status idle patients or family members inquiring. The physicians assistant Becca or RN as I did not see her badge was kind considerate came out and explained and tried to praiseI decided to take a picture of that person which I was going to send to the NW hospital admin. She had a male helper or CNA next to her - white 22 year old with glasses and brown hair. Come over to me and intimidate me standing in my space asking"did you take a picture ", open your phone let me see open it . Open your phone show me , he then told me it was against the law to take a picture of hospital staff inside the hospital. Hmmm I think that is BS.. He then proceeded to tell me to open my phone again so he could physically check and view my phone . Wow is that not against hospital policy to treat a person or say those things..he then told me open your phone show me now and he made me show him my pictures.while he stood there and physically touched and ddeleted the pictures off my screen. He then said show me the deleted file folder and deleted it again touching my phone. Seriously may I never have to come back to this rude intimidating place you. Actually say you care for patients and have a mission statement. He made me delete the pictures, he actually did this on my phonehimself touching my phone going into my albums and actually permanently deleting the picture. Is that what your hospital staff does???. Disgusting!!!!! She deserved a picture to be taken of her. She then told gonwait in the main hospital. I said I won't know if she leaves or what I saw her go into the bathroom and wants to not miss her. She didn't care. She said they will come get y Dr He delete me the pictures which he did himself touching my phone going into my albums and actually permanently deleting the picture. Is that what your hospital staff does???. Disgusting!!!!! She deserved a picture to be taken of her. She then told gonwait in the main hospital. I said I won't know if she leaves or what I saw her go into the bathroom and wants to not miss her. She didn't care. She said they will come get you. She made security physically usher me to the overflow part which is your main entranceLobby. It is now 1230 and I explained again I just want to make sure my other sister is back there when they come out for an hour l waits and that witch had them go out another door knowing I was waiting. I waited until 1:30am worry waiting outside yourER wondering when they were coming. They called me as she told them I left seriously. WOWHow is any of this night ok ??!! I would love it if she along with the guy she had come over to me and touch my phone were written up and fired or severely reprimanded for this type of behavior. I am going to post this everywhere I possibly can in hopes someone from the HR or administration notices.Well now that a night has passed and it is morning. It is even more shocking when I repeated the story to my friends. That the admitting acted like it was an inconvenience and to be snippy in place people go to receive care. Then to actually Acosta me about the photo and tell a fib then to actually stand over me until Opened my phone.. wow doesn't even express the intimidation I felt from both the hospital staff. Then to physically tou

Due to their negligence during our prenatal care, they botched an ultrasound and our daughter was born 3 months early back in 2006. She was born with cerebral palsy as a result. After years of litigation they still deny accountability and used my now 16 year old daughters Tik Tok against her in court claiming since she can use her hands to operate a smart phone, all is well.Well, social media works both ways so now I'm using it to tell my daughters story. Between the prenatal care we got from Northwestern and their "partner" Erie Family Health, our daughter has a lifetime of hardship that could have been prevented if everyone involved had done their job efficiently. Go anywhere else for your prenatal needs if you want to give your baby a good start in life. 1,000 negative stars if I could.

My mom was admitted at Northwestern for Covid for 7 weeks. She is immunocompromised so it complicated the case. I was prevented from seeing her during that time except for 2 times before discharge. (Note, I had been caring for her for 4 weeks before that, and I'm fully vaccinated). Her health declined and she was put on a ventilator. We encouraged them to try a new treatment that was showing promise in clinical trials by top ranking hospitals. They refused. In fact they didn't offer any treatment for Covid. I chose to pay $16,000 to have a private jet transport her to the Cleveland Clinic who gave her the treatment immediately (as they had been using it and had seen many successes). THEY saved her life. During our time at NM I tried to reason and discuss with the doctors, to no avail. My mother would've died there. I will not return and I discourage anyone else from putting your life in their hands. But, please know that the Cleveland Clinic is state of the art!!

This place is the worst. I get routine post traumatic stress from navigating the parking garage. The food is the lowest quality possible at the highest prices. What about the hospital? Well the recent 'C' rating for quality/safety was quite generous. As a healthcare provider myself I have seen numerous dubious practices at every turn. This can't be the hospital that the city of Chicago deserves, can it?

After traveling to New York, I had to end my trip early due to what felt like swords being run across my throat. I immediately headed to Northwestern ER to see what was wrong. All of the Homeless homies in Chicago must've felt ill this past weekend as well. Because the waiting room was lit. I waited for a half an hour before I a "nurse" walked up to me and took my blood pressure. I thought this was weird because it was just out in the open. Another half an hour later, I was taken to triage. And my vitals were taken, I was given Tylenol, EEG, and Apple Juice. About 15 mins later and I sat back in the waiting I received a message via My Chart that I had "The Vid". Another, hour later I was taken to a room where I saw a Doctor who told me there was nothing she could do for me. I was having trouble breathing, a severe soar throat, unable to really talk and a hacking cough. And all she offered me was fluids and a discharge. Luckily, one of my friends is a Pharmacist and she recommended I get the anti-viral Paxlovid. Like clockwork, the City of Chicago called me and got me in contact with a nurse who was able to me back infront of a Dr. for a prescription. I really think Paxlovid saved me because the amount of pain I was in was unbearable. To anyone reading this make sure you advocate for yourself and please get a anti viral. Don't try to wait Covid out on your own.

They're a bunch of crooks. 6 months after getting a routine physical, fully covered by insurance, my wife and I are still receiving bills from this office. We're up to about 20 calls now between them and and our insurance trying to get this resolved. They purposefully mis-categorize their services in an attempt to squeeze more money out of you. Run away, find a different doctor and office, this one will try to bleed your wallet dry.
