The Nook Daycare ( South Loop ) is a great place to enroll your child into I’m not only stating that because I’m a teacher here. I state that because I have been to multiple daycares and no other daycare is like this one. They have extra curriculum classes such as Spanish , dance , and sign language class. The art projects are amazing. The staff really cares for the kids. The kids are very smart. The director has great leadership. Also everyone is very welcoming. I am proud to be apart of the staff at The Nook Daycare.?

I made 3 years with the company recently! I started as an assistant teacher and I am now a lead teacher in the wobbler room!? I have learned so much from my coworkers, especially Ms. Jacky, when I started working here I was her assistant teacher and she became a great role model. I know I can count on her for guidance and support.?

I have been quite happy with all of the staff at The Nook in South Loop. They communicate information well, provide daily photos and frequent updates/memos, and they provide a ton of different activities(which rotate throughout the week) that my son learns from and talks alot of jaba jaba.... lol! The Nook is an amazing daycare! It is so well kept and clean. The environment is great because staff were always excited to be there and it showed when interacting with families.
Shout outs to Sylvia for being a GREAT Directpr. She is very engaged with all the kids everytime I walk in and is very comforting towards the tiny giants when I walk in. Taleah, Emily and Jasmine! Omg, they are the most caring, energetic, creative teachers. My son is flourishing in their care. Everyone that I have interacted with has positive energy, a smile on their face, it just feels like a happy place! I really cannot say enough great things about this place....

I’ve been working in childcare for 5 years now and The South Loop Nook Daycare is by far one of the best daycare’s I have worked for. The school is very clean. Everything is very organized. It’s a great atmosphere to work in. Everyone is very welcoming the parents , the staff , and the students as well! The teachers are great with the kids each and every child is loved and handled with care as if the children are their own. The parents really appreciate the work I do with their children and it’s showed daily! If I had a child I would bring them here as well.?❤️ I highly recommend The South Loop Nook Daycare!?

I am a parent here @the nook, my son has been coming here since he was a year old. It amazes me how much he's grown since thanks to this daycare. They (Jackie, Sylvia, Vanessa, Melissa, Stephanie) always go above and beyond. I was afraid my son would hate it in the beginning but they were very welcoming towards him. He loves it. He wakes up every morning (even weekends) puts his shoes on and says he's ready to see his "friends" at daycare. And at pick up the only thing he hates is leaving now haha. If you're looking for a daycare, please don't hesitate to check them out. They're very organized and super clean. I'm very grateful he's here and his transition to kindergarten will be so smooth after.

From the parents to the staff everyone is friendly and caring if I had to choose a center for my daughter to attend it would be the Nook South Loop.?

This review is concerning Charlotte Norman. I've known Charlotte most of her life her character alone speaks so much volume. She is honest, her personality and smile makes other people smile. As I I've watched her work, she is professional, effective, and has the children's best interest at heart. Charlotte would be an asset to who would ever hire her. She goes beyond and above the call.

I've been working at The Nook for a while now as an assistant teacher for the infants and it's been great! Everyone is so caring. I love interacting with the children on a daily basis as well as making connections with the parents. The company really cares for the children as well as the employees. Thank you to Ms.Sylvia for the opportunity to be here and for being such a great director.

Our daughter was at another daycare not too far from the Nook. After seeing our daughter turn from being a normally happy, social, and sweet girl into being withdrawn, aggressive, and extremely temperamental, we decided we had had enough. We had to make a change. After she transitioned over to the toddler class at Nook, we are seeing more of her true self again, which makes us ecstatic! We feel this is the best decision we ever made. She seems to love it here. She is usually a very picky eater but apparently, she eats the food and sometimes even asks for seconds. For us, that is unheard of. The meals are organic and prepared in-house. The menu looks creative and appealing. Nook also offers so many fun activities and classes, including yoga, music, sign language, and Spanish. Our daughter comes home and starts busting out in a song with her kid-sized guitar. She signs 'please' and 'thank you.' The other day, she randomly started counting off in Spanish. It was so adorable. The teachers seem so nurturing. Our daughter seems to be getting more individualized attention as well. We also love the Brightwheel app and are getting updates throughout the day. Our daughter looks happy and seems to be having a great time. We feel we are leaving our daughter in good hands and are much more reassured nowadays.

Although our time at the Nook was cut short I want to show my gratitude towards the staff in the classroom my daughter was in. A huge shout out to Ms. Norma and her assistants for making my daughters short time there amazing I can surely say Ms. Norma is a very creative, loving teacher . The first day Ms . Norma made us feel welcomed and incredibly safe. I was also able to ease my nerves by checking the brightwheel app where they uploaded so many pictures and activities . Unfortunately my daughter and I had to move away . But I am incredibly grateful to have had this experience at the Nook, it would not have been possible to give this review without the love of Ms. Norma .She loves her role as a teacher and you can tell she has genuine love towards the children. Definitely recommend this location because of her .

My son started at the Nook post- COVID in the wobblers room. I want to give a huge shout out to Ms. Norma and Ms. Mariola, they worked with us to reassure me that my son was always in good hands. My experience was so good I can say that there is a lot of creativity, love, and trust worthy caregivers at the nook. For example, my son began to learn that there were routines throughout the day, and although they weren't always easy things to do, Ms. Norma and Ms. Mariola made sure every transition/ daily routine was done as smoothly as possible. Another awesome thing at the nook is that they use an application that sends you updates throughout the day on what your child is doing! You are also able to view pictures of your child doing activities, you are able to view what they are for lunch, how they feel, etc. overall, the nook always tries to work well with both the parents and the children, I can say that with my time here, the teachers that worked with my son have gained my trust. Since then he has transitioned to toddlers room, where Ms. Vanessa has been nothing but great help to us! I can say she is a very patient, calm, and loving teacher! She has made our transition to the toddlers room so easy. He is now at tikes room, I am excited to see what else is next!

I felt compelled to write review for The Nook because I was one of you searching desperately for more recent reviews when deciding on a daycare for my kids. The nook was first daycare that we sent our kids to and while there were some areas that we felt could improve overall this daycare met our requirements at the time. The most important quality of the nook and the class my kids went to was the personalized attention and warmth that we felt from their teachers. They were easy to communicate with and very encouraging towards the children. Ms Norma and Ms Mariola are awesome and I wish they would move with us to suburbs!! We do miss them as they are very genuine and kind and I felt my kids were in safe hands. They serve organic meals along with organic whole milk which was a plus. The kids also had cooking class with Ms Esna who cooks meals there. I loved seeing personalized updates on the brightwheel app which is a fantastic app. They would post many individual and candid pictures of the kiddos. Some areas of improvement or negatives:The classrooms are partitioned in sections so the age groups don't have their own class "rooms". This makes the noise levels higher and it's easier to catch cold since everything is open air. Since they don't have play area outside, I am not sure how the kids get their daily exercise atleast during summer months. Their sick policy seemed a little lenient to me and I expected them to be more on top of things when it came to doctors notes, how long to wait before return back to class and so on. The hopping in option is also not very effective although they advertise it as one of the ways to get money back if kids are at home. There did not seem to be a specific, structured curriculum which is what I was looking for but especially with older kids (older than 2) I think there should be one. Their covid policy was confusing and not very structured. It always seemed liked we were guessing what was going on or what to do if the kids have a cold/cough. Overall, I think The nook is a decent daycare for younger kids but if you are looking for structure and spaces for the kids to play outside, and for the fees they charge ( which is almost same as a competitor - who also provides what I was looking for ) I would look somewhere else.
