I'm scared to write this review because I feel like I found a rare gem, and I'm afraid of a "gold rush" on this place.
I had some terrible experiences trying to get some prescription drugs from other pharmacies, and their lack of coordinating with other branches of the same pharmacy chain, them handling insurance coverage communication, coordinating Rx's with my doctors, etc.
Finally after 2 weeks of being in despair about obtaining my Rx, someone recommended New City Halsted Pharmacy, and it has been nothing short of outstanding ever since. They were actually out of an Rx dosage that I needed, and weren't sure when they would receive a new shipment. Kayla was super kind, and walked me patiently through my options over the phone (even texted me after hours) and within 24 hours, helped me coordinate with my doctor a similar Rx, and I was able to pick it up the next day! No pharmacy has ever taken the time to help me out in such a manner. As someone who doesn't frequent the healthcare system, I was blown away. The entire staff here operates under the same ethos as Kayla. In an era of terrible customer service and general incompetence in most fields, this place is a respite from that norm. I wouldn't use any other pharmacy but this one, unless I absolutely had to.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this pharmacy from the outstanding customer service to the excellent pharmacy staff! I live more than an hour away and have plenty in my area so that should tell you what a great pharmacy this is! I also just recently found out they deliver.. BONUS!! Even if they did it, I would make that drive every month! They are that good! They went out of their way to be sure got the best bang for my buck with my savings card. I refuse to go to the chains anymore. Thank you NEW CITY HALSTED pharmacy for making my life easy and experience unmatched!

Elliot, the pharmacist and his team have been absolutely great to work with these last 5-6 months. They are hands down better than any big box pharmacy company out there. The professional and consistency are unmatched. They’re a pharmacy you definitely want on your team!

This pharmacy is amazing and completely changes the game for any pharmacy experience you could ever have. Not only do they offer delivery services for your prescriptions (which is my favorite part and the best perk in my opinion), and include a little personal touch in your deliveries and throw in a little candy which always makes my day, but the staff here really go above and beyond for their customers. They're so kind, and when I recently called in a prescription, they called me right away to ask me for my updated insurance. I explained my situation to them, and let them know that I was recently laid off and might not have insurance for a while, and they were completely empathetic to my situation and helped me come up with solutions on how I could get my prescription at a cheaper price. I mean - what other pharmacy truly cares like that?! I will recommend this pharmacy to everyone I know in the Chicago area. Amazing business and staff that truly cares about their customers!

Remember the days of knowing your pharmacist and you didn't have to deal with a poor overworked sap at the chains? This is it. A really nice place. Professional and knowledgeable. Check it out.

The nicest pharmacy ever! They delivered for free my child’s medicine (our usual pharmacy didn’t have it in stock) along with some candy treats!! Brent at the counter is super patient in explaining how the medicine worked!

So I've typically never used Yelp. Never had to really. But I just moved to Chicago, Gold Coast neighborhood. And I literally picked this pharmacy because 1. It's a local business and I like to support those and appreciate a more personal touch over just being another number at a big box. 2. The reviews on this site were overwhelmingly positive. I would drive 10 minutes out of the way if it means good customer service but whoever I dealt with Today was smug, sarcastic, and gave me the impression that I was bothering him just being there.

I never knew an experience at a pharmacy could be so pleasant! I finally turned to a local pharmacy after being fed up with the big name drugstores, and it’s been amazing. The whole process is so easy and convenient and they deliver!!!

Absolutely love this pharmacy. They deliver even up to my location in uptown, they are responsive and kind, and overall just amazing. No standing in long lines or being on hold for 10 mins. Best pharmacy in Chicago.

These guys are the best. Remember when being the customer meant something? Service is excellent, they remember their customers by name and are always willing to discuss questions or concerns. Prices are very fair and I'll keep returning

I just started using New City Pharmacy by recommendation and am happy with the service and Elliot, the pharmacist. Overall perfect, no complaints, and happy to support a small business.
