Modern Pet came recommended by a friend. My puppy, Max, loves his midday walks with Israel and the other dogs he sees!! The flexibility and experience of Modern Pet, along with their attention to detail and kindness makes them a great choice to trust your dogs with!! So happy I found them for my puppy

I emailed asking about care for my pet, and got quite a rude reply, in which they 1) refused due to being fully booked, 2) said I needed to book at least 2 weeks in advance, 3) chided me for not providing more information about my pet, which they've already said they're not going to care for, and 4) did not offer any alternative solutions for pet care (unlike every other place I contacted). After I posted a 1-star Yelp review for this abysmal customer service, Kris emailed me to 1) say sorry, s/he was walking dogs when they wrote that first crap email to me, 2) claim confusion about why I was upset (so what was s/he apologizing for?), 3) chide me AGAIN for not providing more info about my pet that they're not going to care for, 4) use their status as a mixed-race gay couple for emotional leverage, and 5) plead with me to take the review down because they're a small business struggling to survive the pandemic and they've had to let many of their staff go, etc. So they CAN give more detailed replies when they care to. Also, business can't be all that bad if they're fully booked up and require 2 weeks notice. One of their competitors also was booked, but gave me a recommendation for another place. I'm going with them.

I hired Kris and Israel to walk my dog after my last dog walker found a FT job during COVID. I have a timid older Beagle that does not warm up easily and is easily frightened so was nervous to try someone new. Modern Pet is AWESOME. We are moving to North Center and sad that they cannot come with us. They leave a little notebook that they write in - such a nice touch. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a trusty dog walker.

I looked at a few dog walking services before deciding on Modern Pet. Israel came by or a meet and greet. Note, there are multiple walkers that you May not meet them all but they do communicate regularly with each other so you can ensure your pet is getting the best care. It is also nice because then your pet gets to know people rather than depend or get attached to one walker. They are super responsive and understanding with last minute changes to the schedule.

I don't know what I can add other's have not said. Kris and Israel are phenomenal. They are kind, attentive, reliable, trustworthy, funny, just plain nice people, and really seem to love what they do. I used Modern Pet for the four years I lived in Ukrainian Village at two locations and they never missed a beat — we only stopped using them because we moved from Chicago. Dog walks, cat sitting, and overnights, everything went off without a hitch. But more than my words, you should trust our pup's reaction…she would bolt to the door when she knew it was walk time and heard the key rattling the door. She was even more excited than when we gave walks. We were actually a little jealous. Our pets loved their visits and really that's what matters most. Do not hesitate to reach out to them, your furry friends will be better for it.

They are kind, attentive, reliable, trustworthy, funny, just plain nice people, and really seem to love what they do. I don't have anything but positive things to say about Modern Pet. Israel takes the time to not just walk your pet, but genuinely care about them. It gives me huge peace of mind knowing I can trust them to do the best job possible. Highly recommend.

Israel & Kris are absolutely wonderful!! I can't say it enough. We use them 2x/week to walk our pup Stella and cat sitting on long weekends for our boy Zucco. They're beyond thoughtful and thorough with their service. They provided a notebook on their first visit in our kitchen and write notes after every walk with Stella letting us know how she was and if she got to walk with any other dogs. When we're away for the weekend they send a picture text of Zucco and give an update on how he's doing. If you're as obsessed with your animals as I am, you know how adorable those types of things are!! Having someone in your home when you're away can feel a bit odd but their communication with us and the amount of care they give to our animals makes the experience so incredibly comfortable. It is no question that they're the best pet care service in the neighborhood. Thanks for being so awesome!

Modern Pet is awesome - we would highly recommend them! They have been walking our dog for several months, and our dog absolutely loves them. Modern Pet is extremely punctual and communicative. We enjoy that they leave us a note everyday detailing whether our pup went potty and how his walk went. Our work schedule changes from week-to-week and Modern Pet is beyond accommodating to our dog walking needs - we greatly appreciate this!

We love Modern Pet! Kris has been walking our dogs for the past three years. They are always great at communicating, very flexible with our schedule and go above and beyond. Love hearing about the friends our pups made and how they did during the day. Highly recommend them!

Modern Pet has always been so helpful in taking care of our golden retriever! They take him on a good walk and write a note for us every time. Also, they will feed him whenever we need an evening walk. Israel is super easy to communicate with whenever there are changes to our work schedules and we need to adjust our dog's walk schedule.

I love Kris and Israel of Modern Pet. They have been with me and my two cats for TEN+ years (!!) and I can't imagine leaving my cats with anyone else. They feed and clean up, water my plants, and get the mail; all for a reasonable price. I love that they stick around just to snuggle with the cats and give some affection while I'm away. They always leave a nice note about what my cats did. I highly recommend these guys for their caring attitude and attention to detail. Not sure what I would do without them!
