This was my first time getting my hair braided. My experience at this shop was horrible. I have a high pain threshold but this was ridiculous. Only two of the four women spoke English... maybe. The two who "didn't speak English" worked on my hair. One RAKED through my hair before braiding. She then sat me down in the torture chamber. She proceded to braid my hair in cornrows. The pain was absolutely on a level 10!
After the braiding, it only got worst! They proceeded to use the steel crochet tool to hook and pull hair on my already inflammed scalp! This took the pain to level 20!
I question why its necessary to braid hair so tightly. It feels hostile. It's difficult to not take this personally, Day two and I'm still taking Tylenol for my headache. I used oil on my scalp and cut about a third of the hair out.
Needless to say, I will never go back.

and my hair was braided fast by one person.

New to the south side, was looking for a braid shop with good reviews. Found this place through a Google search. Gave them a chance. Hands down some of the best braids I’ve ever worn. Staff was very courteous too. Will never go anywhere else!!!

I love their work! They have been my hair braiders since 2007! Throughout the years I have moved to different states and still travelled to get my hair braided by here!They have ALWAYS been very neat, professional, and patient! These beautiful women, braid my hair every year and now that my daughter is of age, she is also a continuous client!
Trust me, I am very particular about the quality of my braid and they never disappoint! All of their services are worth every dollar and hour you sit in the chair!
