I came in for a leg of lamb for Easter.Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. The price was the best by far. I saw they also had lamb shoulder so I went with that. It was frozen and when I defrosted it overnight in my fridge and it thawed out, it looked great and had no smell to it - so it was fresh. We had the lamb as part of our dinner tonight and everyone loved it.I can understand what some have mentioned about the smell however, that's been the case for any butcher shop I've been to... unfortunately it seems to be in the air.The produce looked okay, not the greatest but I came in for something else.While checking out with my purchases, the staff were curteous and kind. Overall my experience was great.

I love the sale they have for the Charmin tissue but man the smell of this place gives me a headache. smells like something has diedthen they have the strongest incense burning trying to cover the smell which makes it so much worse. I run in and run right on back out. definitely don't want any meat from here.

I went n there last night 2 grab some fish there's a smell n there I don't c how ppl don't smell it I'm not comfortable buying ? at a store that smells but look what neighborhood it's n so not surprised will not b returning

For the most part they are kool its a neighborhood joint. They are very pricey and that hasn't changed.. 75% of the workers are consistent so that helps . They have good meat just extremely high like all the other stores .

Everything went well until the meat guy called me to the counter. I had a question about the Harold Washington meat package. First question was can I substitute any items on the package. He replied to items the first choice was 5 pounds whole chickens with an S on it in. I asked what our whole chickens? He replied to the curious customer “you answered your own question.” My response was walking out the door. How I answer my own question? Today was my first time attempting to buy a meat package for my three-year-old son so I didn’t know the flow or the lingo of the meat packaging Products. I felt offended because I didn’t know what whole chickens look like I didn’t know if he was giving me two whole chickens or three whole chickens I don’t need two or three whole chickens. Anyway headed to Peoria‘s meat market! Gratefully I have a car and I can travel outside of my community to a more knowledgeable and respectful service place that my family has been using for years. So far, this grocery store has been the best for me. You can get anything you require here for a very low price. The service staff is courteous, and even the security guards are pleasant and courteous.
