It is unfortunate that the manager must work with such unskilled and inefficient workers. My experience is there have again been dissatisfactory. The self checkout machinery doesn't work and they do not have the accurate prices registered in the self checkout machines for items that 1 purchases it took a young lady too long To attempt to correct the error ultimately she did not correct it and I left frustrated without the item that I came to purchase I will not shop here any longer and I am certain that they will all be very happy about that I'll be it I imagine the store will be shutting down as well... They need to try a new brand of store there this one is failing to meet the neighborhood's expectations.
Mariano's on Western Avenue has previously fallen short of my expectations. Today, I had the opportunity to speak with the manager and was impressed by his ability to address my concerns. His genuine interest in providing excellent customer service has renewed my confidence in shopping at Mariano's on Western Avenue. I look forward to future positive experiences under his management.

Disgusting store. I remember when I use to love shopping here. Meat is brown and disgusting and they leave it on the shelves. Deli counter guy doesn't even speak, looks like he's lost or just doesn't want to be there. They definitely lost my business. You sell to Kroger, this is what you get.

Majority of the cashiers are soooo rude and ugly they don’t even greet you or talk ?. The produce and meat both are always rotten ?? they sell really old expired stuff but with clearance stickers like it’s okay to do. The prices are never right either just save yourself the headache.

Terrible experience. I was charged for items I didn't purchase and the store and company are creating situations at every turn so they won't need to refund me. Geoff, the manager, claims he cannot find the charge, which is on my credit card, and is using that as an excuse as to why I cannot get a refund.

I find it interesting that they have a large sign behind their "butcher" counter that says, "Chicago's Best Butcher Shoppe", yet their "butchers" aren't even capable of cubing up a pork shoulder for customers.
It takes a lot of gall to call weighing and wrapping up steaks "butchering". Just another way that Kroger has ruined this chain.

the woman working the self checkout aggressively took over without asking as I was finishing up at 10:01, threw all my delicate items underneath the other things into my cart and made me bag my groceries in the parking lot . good selection but yeah no thanks

This place used to be fantastic when I was actually owned by Marianos but since Kroger began owning it it has gone downhill. I've been a customer since Marianos opened back in the day and hardly ever even go there anymore because of the way it's run, the terrible products and most recently the unsafe parking lots.
Whole Food, even though it's more expensive, is 100% worth it. And it's only a Few minute drive away.
I think this particular Mariano's had a 4.6 or 4.7 rating before Kroger got a hold of it.

Quality has gone down hill, the shredded chicken is now slimy and was probably the cause of making my dog sick. The sushi is consistently looking like a hack job, either your guy isn't a sushi guy or he needs new knives.

Delicious fresh food! So many healthy options. Every single person on the staff has been nothing but helpful on each one of my visits. The global foods section is a nice touch with wide variety. I highly recommend!

I moved out of the areas for a long time and happened to be back to this Mariano’s. Love that they put Starbucks in the store! The downside is that what happens to all the friendly staffs? Today I was so hungry and looking forward to eat chicken katsu for lunch and found that most of the rice bowls were expired yesterday! I am glad that I checked it. Otherwise I would be very upset if I purchased it and found out at home that I can’t eat it. I notified the sushi chef right away and asked is it possible to make a new rice bowl of chicken katsu. I can wait for it. He said come back tomorrow. I was stunned by his response. Is that mean he didn’t check all the rice bowls in when he started his shift that it expired? I won’t be around this neighborhood tomorrow. So I went to the hot soup section and all 3 soup pots out of 4 were nearly empty and dried up and no staff comes to check to fill it up or turn it off or lower the temperature. This was around 2:30pm (lunch rush hour was over). Next I was looking for the condensed milk. One of the staffs told me the wrong aisle and I have to continue looking from aisle to aisle for it. I was wondering Mariano’s app or website allow customers to be able to search items and get the location of the aisle? I will check it out after this review. Like Home Depot they have this function on their app/website. Finally I was at the checkout. I paid for one bag and the bag happened to be ripped. So I informed the staff to let her know that is it ok to get another one and don’t want to get charged for it again. The staff’s attitude is not pleasant at all. What happened to this Mariano’s? What happened to all the smiling staffs that used to work here?

I love this store on Western -Roscoe. I can find everything I need. The people (workers) are kind and friendly. It's always well maintained and clean. I do recommend this location. The only thing that would make it much better is if they add a pharmacy.
