It should be called (wo)man vs movers. I completely blame the owner. I called and gave a detailed accounting of my move. I then confirmed, and on the day of the move, called again to confirm I was ready for them. He called me at 1, their scheduled start time, to say they were a half hour behind. 2 and 1/2 hours later,(3:30) they finally showed, after numerous unanswered calls placed to them. I had to young guys who were not movers, who were expecting to empty a truck, not move me in and out and admitted they were exhausted and not up to form. My mom and I were the only ones who moved anything as they "rearranged" my truck, smoked and caught their breath. The next 45minutes they moved everything out (again with our help) and I asked them how they were getting to my place. They told me first that they had a ride, then that they had to wait for their boss, who was not answering the phone. (5:15) He conveniently answered after the now 2 hour mark, (5:30)ensuring more pay. I was afraid to leave them (a) stranded and (b). to make sure I wasn't going to be charged for their wait/travel time. 2 HOURS LATER the boss showed up. AT 7PM!!! (The temperature dropped to about 40 by then and oh yeah, it was raining) That two hours awe waited allowed the first movers to tell me (a). how little they were paid, (b) that they were not professionals, but helping out a friend (c) oh yeah, they had plans now, and fairly so, had not anticipated to be working past 7. So of course the boss had to "find" 2 more movers, showing up at my new place at 9pm. These guys were also very nice, but one was wheezing heavily and the other had a leg injury and I dont believe either were professional movers. I knew my move in was going to be tough, but I had already been on their clock for hours! At 11:30, when it was finished, and I was an emotional wreck, I had to argue with the owner who told me that I should have used his truck (So..he could wander around for hours and charge me for mileage while holding my stuff hostage? Um, no) and that he was actually doing me a favor, and all the work I did while his movers didn't...well that was just me helping myself. I was readily prepared to pay for a 4-5 hour move, but I took time off when I had to wait about 6 hours total for him to show up with extremely tired movers who were not at top form. (who would be at that time?) All I know is that he was so mad at having to loose 20 dollars"out of his pocket" the owner (and the problem in all of this) made sure to give me looks to let me know he knew where I lived. I guess if I get broken into, I have a number one suspect. I have moved 10 times in 8 years, I know the timing and how people work - SAVE YOURSELF and hire someone else. Or actually, I would even recommend the workers, if they were rested and properly informed, but this company, and owner who is keeping all the money? Just like the other review said, Fuck that guy.
