For the price there was value. It’s dated, breakfast not as good as we have had at other places. A little run down. Everyone was nice.

We booked this hotel for one night. Apparently they didn't inform Priceline that the hotel was convinced into a refugee camp. This hotel is no longer available

So you’re turning this into an illegal center now for the DNC?

Pritzker can handle the influx of migrants in his many mansions and estates. Yet he places them here.

Overall it’s good but the windows are not sound proof and parking is way too expensive!

Mid. The place was average with some pros and some cons. Main reason I stayed at this location was for the airport shuttle which was needed when I arrived in Chicago at 12:40 am Saturday morning. The shuttle ran seamlessly. Was there at my time of arrival without my call (I was a little worried I’d have to wait a while on it due to the time). Next morning I took the shuttle back to the airport to get rental car and again, smooth shuttle service with no issues. Since they aren’t located downtown I found it a little odd that had to pay to park there, but whatever. I’m wondering if this is a Chicago thing vs an IHG thing. The breakfast cost $15.99 plus tax, and I know from experience that anytime at a Holiday Inn that serves pay for breakfast, it’s never very good. I opted to walk to the IHop (before I had my rental) which was only about 6 mins away and was better and cheaper breakfast. The parking lot is kinda small and the one day I needed to park overnight, and had already paid, I was afraid I wasn’t going to find an empty spot when I returned for the night. Luckily I did but I swear there were some people that came in after that were not able to find one, but I do not know for sure. I did not like the layout of the building, particularly the proximity of the elevators to the room I was assigned to. I feel like the elevators could have been more in the middle. The elevator was a little janky as it seemed I was stuck for a few seconds on a couple occasions, and door only opened after I pushed the open door button. The stairwell closest to my room (and all stairwells for that matter) had signs that said Fire exit only, keep door closed at all times, so I did not want to use stairs to go downstairs in case it would set off an alarm. There was a lot of trash around the perimeter of the building. The hallways looked really dated. My room was ok, but didn’t like the layout here either, particularly the bathroom. It was clean though. The bed wasn’t the best but not the worst either. I was able to get a few solid hours of sleep. The tv allows you to chrome cast stuff from certain devices, but does not allow direct connection with a Roku or Firestick (which I tried), so that was very disappointing. There is a small fridge, but no microwave which was very inconvenient. Long story short, I’d stay there again only if I needed the shuttle. If shuttle not needed, I would stay elsewhere.

First off I make in depth reviews regarding customer service. Main reason I chose this as my next location is due to the “scam” complaints regarding the parking situation. My buddy is a lawyer and we wanted to check it out. I stay under a different name so they can’t figure out who I am when I stay at locations. I work for different government contracts and travel a lot so I do this as a little hobby. What is the male version of a Karen? Haha
This is just the initial review, I always update and adjust the rating. I place a huge significance on customer service because I believe a company should uphold its end of the bargain especially when you are trading cash for services. The U.S. is a service industry and word of mouth can still ding you. Chicago in my travels around the world has had the worst customer service bar none, when a business outdoes itself I also believe they should be praised for it. So is this place as tepid as the ratings suggest?

The customer service so far has been wonderful with the exception of employees being able to confirm the actual price of the parking. I will keep you updated regarding the parking. Aside from that initial impressions are great, rooms are updated and don’t have that funky smell to them. The hallways are humid but how often do you really stay in the hallway right? The fitness room is humid and you are unable to adjust the remote controls they have on the walls. You are exercising so sweating is the reason you are there, can’t really knock them on it.
You are super close to a lot of shops and have a lot of food options in the surrounding area. Chic Fil A, chipotle, IHOP, Olive Garden, Popeyes are within a walkable distance. Walmart is pretty close as well.
Update 06/07/2024
The stay has been really good, the bed is soft and I can get pretty good sleep here even with a roommate. I love that the shades on the window go all the way and it’s boxed on the wall so it gets really dark. Staff has continuously been great, they are really nice and sweet to the customers.
Shout out to MJ, she is a super star the way she is handling customers requests. The number one thing people do not understand is that you can’t teach someone to have a good attitude. They hit a home run when they hired this gem. MJ goes above and beyond and she has a great personality! ?
I asked to speak to a supervisor, to see what the deal is with the parking. The reviews say it’s a third party that deals with parking but my account is being charged under Holiday Inn, maybe previous customers had it wrong? There was an issue where I got charged twice today but the supervisor was able to get it resolved rather quickly. I have to say that the previous reviews may have gotten it wrong. I still have 3 weeks to go, looking forward to the stay.
Update 06/21/2024
We were advised by voicemail that we are getting kicked out because they are “shutting down”. Since I have worked along the city here I know why it is shutting down. They got a city contract and I doubt they want a lot of attention regarding it (or maybe they do).
We are getting our reservations canceled from the 28th to the 1st it looks like. They didn’t really take care of anything for us like getting us another hotel reservation at the holiday inn nearby, I was told to just speak with operations manager. Last time I asked to speak with a supervisor they ignored me and just had the people at the reception deal with me. I will keep yall updated regarding this new issue.
As for parking I have not had issues personally, however I do have paper-plates since I have a new vehicle.
Update 06/22/2024
They canceled my reservations before the 27th, which wasn’t what I was told. The supervisor cleared it up and unfortunately we lost our day and are on our own to deal with the ramifications. Di

This place needs an overhaul. The price for the room and added parking fee was a joke. The breakfast was trash too. The room had a musty stench with leftover hairballs and the bed was hard like it had no cushion left. The tv was small and not to mention the picture was framed small when watching tv. We asked the desk clerk if we can use our points towards our stay and she said no but when we left to stay at a different location, that clerk said yes and that we were lied to. The outside “pool area” was closed off but no work being done to it so that looked like a dump. This was not enjoyable at all. Do not waste your money!

Parking is a scam. US$23 for overnite parking!!! Rooms, hallways, carpets, and elevators are shabby
Breakfast is extra US$ 15 per person. There is no consistency to expect in the IHG holiday chain unlike with Marriott. Unfortunately, I was penny wise pound foolish and paid substantially higher with less than average hotel of 9 hours sleep. Last stay in IHG hotels after this experience as the hotel is more interested in collecting parking charges than giving a decent accommodation.

Excellent, very clean hotel with comfortable beds and excellent water pressure in the shower. It's also super convenient to Midway airport.
Noteworthy details: Parking is 20.00 daily.

Everything was very pleasant but I still can’t believe they charge paying customers to park (20 bucks) and for breakfast ( 15 ).
It wouldn’t have bothered me that much except the woman at the front desk tried to tell me every hotel in Chicago charges for parking, sorry wrong !!

I booked this hotel almost three weeks in advance, I booked with the credit card that I was currently using, however, this credit card was stolen and I have to replace it. I did not update this since it was a couple of days before my arrival, and I thought I could pay when checking in. However, when I arrived (9 pm) with a one-year-old and a 4-year-old, they told me my reservation was canceled since my credit card was not approved. They did not try to contact me when this happened, not through booking, not using the registered cellphone, or asking me for a different card, they just canceled. So, I was in the middle of Chicago with two kids and all the places were more than 300dls per night. Also, they of course thing not have any double rooms available. Overbooked I guess..

The women are nice, the rooms are nice but, The Hispanic guy that cleans in the morning, will give this place a bad rep, he tells certain people that are guest not to walk in certain areas, so he won’t have to reclean. LIKE SIR THATS WHAT U GET PAID TO DO! CLEAN THE LOBBY! He can’t tell customers where to walk! And where not to walk!! He wouldn’t have a job if it weren’t for people like me!
Rooms: The rooms are actually clean, and quite.
Nearby activities: Planet fitness,
Food & drinks: The mall, and other restaurants
