Best wait staff I've ever seen. Even people in the hospitality industry agree. We ordered the lunch beef stroganoff which was very good. Our server, Meghan C was very quick but didn't rush us at all. But she was observant and was quick to take care of us . After we paid and tipped for our meal we were chatting and Meghan continued to fill up our drinks . So welcoming !! Although the food is great, I will go back for how well we were taken care of . There is a 3% surcharge automatically added that doesn't go to wait staff that they can remove if you ask . I would highly recommend their lunch specials . Very filling and delicious .

Made our reservations open table to secure seating. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was great. Now let's talk about the food, the ribs are my favorite!!! They have the best taste and the sauce. Definitely will continue to come!

After I left my review L Woods contacted me regarding my feedback. We went back recently and I wanted to update my review, as the food was exactly how I remembered it being. We got a variety of things. We started with stuffed mushrooms and a house salad with ranch. For entrees we had the almond encrusted walleye with lemon butter sauce, sweet potatoes, creamed spinach, steak encrusted w parmesan, potato au gratin, and vanilla creme brulee for dessert (it was a special). My favorite was the almond fish and dessert!! I appreciate the time L Woods took to reach out and We will be back!

The food always delivers here and we started our dinner with our favorite chopped salad. He had the New York Strip steak (medium rare) and it was flavorful and tender. My pork tenderloin was not as moist and tender as I wished it was and the breading was a little on the thick side. The service was friendly and prompt as always with our server making sure that we had everything we needed but not hovering too much. We have been here a few times and even celebrated milestones (like my Mom's 75th birthday) with family and friends here. I must say that this place does not feel like it's part of a chain. It has that warm, neighborhood feel to it that is nice to come back to.

Great food with family for Mothers Day. 1/2 slab baby back ribs were delicious. One of our favorite restaurants!

L. Woods is great! Make a reservation as it's alllllways busy. Love that there's a (free) parking lot and that it's part of Lettuce Entertain You. The veggie burger and pulled pork sandwich are my favorite entrees so far. The shaved Brussels sprouts and kale salad is becoming a regular share plate. I had a nice Pinot Noir from Oregon last visit. Sadly the Gamay tasted like it had been open for a bit too long (oxidized). Beers and cocktails have always been solid. Chocolate cake? Delicious. Overall, we really like this place! I'm excited to sit out on the patio this summer!

Nice greeting. Fast/attentive service. Easy parking.Chicken a la Simi; dry. ( The waiter had recommended it.)Husband said his brisket was "OK" and he didn't finish it.Others in my party of four seemed fine with their meals. My pet peeve; as I was still eating, staff removed every plate off the table. ...I felt rushed.( There were many empty tables available around us).In addition, the value was not there for me.So I won't return.

It seems we always come here for Restaurant week. It is really a good deal. The portions are huge. This time I had the French Onion soup, BBQ cedar planked salmon and the coconut cream pie for dessert. The French onion soup was excellent. I would order that every time! The BBQ cedar planked salmon was good and plated beautifully. Once again, the dessert was a disappointment. Although the pie slice was huge, it just didn't taste all that great. Hubby got the chocolate cake and that was much better choice. A friend had the fried calamari for her appetizer and they weren't all that great. I would skip them. Our server was excellent and full of personality. We loved her!

Most people crave it. A cocktail, cheese curds, a steak or fish, and a dessert. Big booths, warm lights, wood paneling, photos of people great & small - and taxidermied fish. That is what L. Woods delivers. The place is full of interconnected small dining rooms and when we went on a Saturday night was packed, but not too loud. The cocktails are limited but good. I had to order a Hamms beer. The cheese curds were ok. The filet mignon was good with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The coconut cream pie was good. The service is the real star. Friendly, attentive and the right amount of interactions. This is a Lettuce Entertainment restaurant so they are good at thematic venues. L. Woods delivers a solid performance.

The wife and I went here on New Year's Day after a long walk. The food and beer did not let us down. The bread came to us warm, which is always nice. The wife ordered the buttermilk fried chicken (Sunday special). I tried this and found it to be delicious. The breading is well seasoned and the chicken cooked appropriately. I had the barbecue chicken and Ribs combo with a side of mashed potatoes. This was a massive amount of food, which I appreciate since it was not inexpensive. Got my worth. My one minor complaint about is that I found the barbecue chicken just a touch dry. I also had the lentil soup, which was good. Salty and well seasoned. The service was good and the restaurant occupies a nice space. It was a bit cold inside so we wore our sweatshirts throughout the meal. We will be back here to try other entrees.

The only halal option is the Creekstone Beef Ribs. Great tasting and full of flavor. They provide either the BBQ sauce or Spicy BBQ. You also get a side with the ribs. Highly recommend for those who want a good quality and great-tasting halal ribs.

Date night tonight had us driving through Sauganash, Edgebrook and Lincolnwood looking at Christmas light displays then stopping at this cozy lodge with wood-beamed ceilings, deer antler chandeliers and classic food and cocktails. The crowd of patrons, like the neighborhood, is a mix of mostly seniors, young families and other couples enjoying themselves. If you want a booth be sure to make advance reservations and request it. Black & white photos of diners all over the walls contribute to the nostalgic charm. The gluten free menu is only available online. Care is taken to serve everything exactly as ordered and the food was delicious. LEYE points cannot be used on a Saturday night so save them for another day. Daily specials are offered. Tonight's prime rib was a popular item. Give this long established gem a try and you won't be disappointed.
