I walked in, spoke to someone for a few minutes, and walked right back out. I could tell they were getting ready to go to lunch and didn't want to be bothered with whatever I was bringing in that could interrupt her lunch time. She tried very hard to tell me there was nothing they could do for me, in her "nicest" ( rudest) way possible.

The vet was very kind and professional. He treated my golden retriever's emergency. Today he is improving thanks to his care. I recommend him ?

I have to change my review:
$$$$
Every visit costs $400 which is less than my orthopedic visit last month.
The business will not try to fix the problem but to make you go back and spend another $400. This does break the budget. I don’t know if they are incompetent or greedy, but either one is not going to help your pet.
We will not be going there again. The medicine sold for $90 is half price everywhere else.

Take your animal elsewhere We brought our 9 yr old dog to Logan Square Animal Hospital for a suspected ear infection. This was the 1st time he was seen here, as our regular vet couldn't fit him in. We met with Dr. Basran and explained his symptoms, worsening head shaking, head tilting, and itching of both ears. He had been squealing in pain. There was no noticeable debris or infection that we could see in his ears. He was on Benadryl, as prescribed by his reg. vet, for allergies, which was not helping his symptoms. During the consult, Dr. Basran cut me off several times when I tried to explain his symptoms. He was rushed and I felt uncomfortable with how unconcerned he was regarding our dog's presentation, as I know enough from previous infections that he had not ever had the head tilting symptom before. He did not go deeply at all with the otoscope (tool used to examine inside of dogs ears) and took what seemed to us like less than 2 seconds looking in each of his ears. He told us he had ear infections, handed us his business card, gave our dog antibiotic injections, and left the room before we could ask any questions. We followed the prescribed treatment regimen until it was complete. Several weeks later, his symptoms worsened, and we brought him to our regular vet VCA Ark Animal Hospital in Chicago for an exam. We shared this experience at LSAH with her for context after her examination. We had sent over Dr. Basran's very limited clinic notes and Rx form in advance as well, for her reference. She informed us that she could very clearly identify bilateral ruptures of his tympanic membranes, also known as ruptured ear drums and a deep ear infection, likely because of the ruptures. She couldn't be certain that they were present at the time of his exam at LSAH, but she suspected they were as his symptoms were ongoing and worsening since before that appt. Furthermore, the size of the ruptures was significant, particularly in his L ear. She expressed horror and alarm at the medications our dog had been prescribed by Dr. Basran. In her own words, Posatex has been outdated for decades and is only prescribed now as an absolute last resort for antibiotic cases of antibiotic-resistant infections. She pointed out that Dr. Basran did not conduct a cytology on his infection (culturing the bacteria in a lab so that the best-suited antibiotic could be prescribed for it) and instead just prescribed a dangerously broad-spectrum antibiotic. More importantly, and the reason for this complaint, is that it's contraindicated in cases of a ruptured tympanic membranes. In her clinical opinion, use of this Rx significantly worsened, if not CAUSED, ruptures in his tympanic membranes. I think it is important to add that our vet clarified that VCA Ark Animal Hospital would never have referred us to him intentionally and that it was likely an unfortunate miscommunication between us and their staff. We do not blame them for this at all - their team has been absolutely wonderful to our pets and fosters for years. Of note, I reported this to the better business bureau (BBB) and requested his response through them. He did not acknowledge or admit his negligence, did not apologize, did not refund us, and blamed it all on us not attending the recommended follow-up visit with him. Of course, after our first experience, we were never going back. Our dog had his follow-up with our vet instead. Additionally, I offered him several notices and warnings that if he did not resolve this issue with us (an apology and refund for the exam would have been accepted), that I would share our experience online in hopes it does not happen to other unsuspecting owners and their animals. He did not respond to these warnings, which I know he received, as it was sent through the BBB, the exact same way as my initial complaint, to which he responded. In my and our trusted vet's opinion, someone this careless and antiquated in guidelines-based care shouldn't be allowed to practice. Please, for your animals health and safety, take your busines

Please avoid this place at all costs. I visited this vet 4 years ago for a broken nail on my dog's paw and after getting put on anesthesia to remove the nail-plus recommending teeth surgery for hundreds of dollars (which had nothing to do with the original cause of the visit)- the nail was incorrectly cut and I had to go to another vet a couple days later to have it correctly/fully removed because my dog was in a lot of pain.
Fast forward 4 years later, I had to take my dog in to the nearest vet because he had collapsed and was having difficulty breathing. The first thing the doctor did was check his temperature, heart, mouth and recommended an X-ray for $250. I immediately agreed and after taking the x-ray (where he said there seems to be an unknown object/tumor in his thrachea) the doctor gave me two options: 1) He could put my dog under anesthesia-$90- insert a tube in his mouth and see if he could push the object down into his esophagus-most likely another $250/$300 dollars he said (that he couldn't confirm if it was a piece of toy, plastic, bone, or even mentioned it could be a tumor...) but that it could potentially be dangerous. Or 2) take him to a specialist that has the equipment to see inside his thrachea with a camera and identify the object/solution, but that would cost thousands of dollars.
My family and I decided to go with option 1 and when I told him this, he went back on his statement saying he didnt recommend that option because it was dangerous and could cause more harm to my dog??? Like he just recommended it and now he can't do it??? He had no type of sympathy, emotion, or sense of urgency with my dog and was only mentioning prices and summing up totals the entire 10 minute visit- that came out to over $300.
When we were checking out to go to the emergency vet, I asked if I could get a copy of the x-ray results and he snapped back with "I already let you take pictures on your phone of the x-ray, that should be enough. You don't need a referral from me to go to another clinic." As he coldly typed on his phone, already forgotten about my very sick dog. Mentioning that "there's nothing more I could say/do"... this place is terrible.
I left with paying $300+ for a 10 min consultation where no answers were provided, the only recommendation was to take him somewhere else and that there was nothing else they could do.
I've read a lot of these reviews and they all have the same thing in common - this place needs to be shut down. The doctor doesn't have any regard for the animals visiting and only cares about taking your money by creating fake "tumors" or recommending dental work to take even more of your money.
I am appalled and disgusted.
UPDATE: After going for a second opinion, and having to get x-rays re-done because the ones provided by this place were unusable, there isn't a tumor or any object seen in the new prints. There was a lot of age related problems and other issues, but nothing like what was suggested here. And they wanted to sedate my poor baby and push something down his throat that didn't even exist, absolutely unacceptable.

really not quite good. very old, outdated office, equipment, and filing system to start. extremely cold and uncaring individuals working there by and large with very poor communication skills to pet parents about what is actually going on with their pets. seemingly love to push dental work as a fix all solution?? cheap and are able to get you in that day if you need it i guess, and seemingly they're at least mostly competent on a technical level, but i really wouldn't recommend them by and large.

Highly Recommend Logan Square, Animal Hospital. I have been coming here for years often on and they are always very friendly and helpful. Gets me in and out no time flat. Prices are extremely reasonable.

Horrible place. My pet ended up dying because of their horrible service. They maintain very poor hygiene here and stay away from this place
The vet assistants have horrible trashy attitudes and hardly educated. They hire college drop outs out here and under pay them. No wonder the service here is poor.

Don't walk, RUN away from this "animal hospital" if you want your pet to live. The last thing you want to hear is that your dog has a tumor, which by the way, was missed by the first doctor that saw him and when questioned, he said it's because he "wasn't sure." They proceeded to say "forget about the tumor" and focus on his teeth cleaning, which we would of had to pay over $700 for since they thought that's what was causing my dog's rapid weight loss (went from 28 lbs to 14 lbs in a matter of weeks), refusal to eat, fever, lethargy, and uncontrollable shaking.
Stunned that we would be told to "forget about the tumor", we took my dog for a second opinion elsewhere and that doctor said that the tumor is the first thing that needs to be addressed and everything else is secondary. This doctor called it right away and could FEEL the tumor, without looking at the x-ray Logan Square took, and suggested we do an ultrasound ASAP to see if it has metastasized. He even mentioned how he thinks this place was more interested in making money than my dog.
Years of taking my dog here, I'm so disappointed and angry with how they handled this matter and wonder if this could have been diagnosed earlier had they done a more thorough physical each time. Maybe we wouldn't be discussing euthanasia pending the ultrasound results with the new vet.
Skip this place for the sake of your pet and your sanity. They're incompetent, have absolutely no sense of urgency, don't care about your pet's wellbeing, lack sympathy, and honestly, it's filthy and your pets deserve better.
UPDATE: upon reading other reviews, this sort of thing has happened before. This place should be shut down. Now my dog is at an emergency clinic and the doctor there is very worried and said this type of large mass doesn’t grow overnight. Had they done proper examinations that led to early detection, maybe he would have a chance at living. But instead, the incompetent, heartless doctors at this clinic told us to “forget about the tumor.” Now, we pray for a miracle as my sweet boy is undergoing numerous tests.
UPDATE 2: Logan Square insisted that my dog’s issues were coming from his teeth. They were WRONG like we knew they were. He had CANCER and has since passed away.
But “forget about the tumor” they told us….
AVOID THIS PLACE.

COMPLETE GARBAGE….. I will scream this to anyone who considers bringing their pet here and post it everywhere until my fingers hurt.
This place is a waste of space and I hope they shut down as soon as humanly possible. If you love your pet, DO NOT bring them here. My dog is on his death bed (literally) because they failed to do proper examinations every time we brought him here with an issue. We trusted our gut and took him to another doctor for a second opinion and that doctor immediately felt a mass on his back. It’s now looking like it’s too late to do anything because this mass is “huge”. I DESPISE that this place exists. Please do not take the bad reviews lightly, it’s not worth it and your innocent pet will pay for it. This place is absolute garbage and that’s putting it lightly because what I really want to say won’t be approved, but I’m sure you get the idea.
Dr. Konstantinov - You said you felt something but you weren’t “sure” it was a mass, so you let it go. Thanks for that.
Dr. Basran - You actually did an xray, saw a mass, but yet you insisted my dog get his teeth cleaned and to forget about the mass because his teeth come first and prescribed medication. You don’t deserve to be in this industry.
Meanwhile, I’ll be here with my family hoping and praying for a miracle because the incompetent idiots that work here are useless and only see you as a dollar sign.
Karma, you’re up.
Update on 3/23: 3 hours after this post, our sweet dog passed away. If you love your pet, PLEASE do your research. It’s too late for us.

Took 831 dollars to clean my dogs teeth and send him home with a severely bad tooth, to then send me to an overpriced dental facility in Aurora 3000 quote, found a better vet charging 1300 for x-rays blood work and pull the abscess tooth. Thanks for taking our $ making dog worse, lying about his low blood count on his blood test (said everything was fine) and did procedure anyway, visibly upset when my dog got blood on his coat. I was in shock. If he couldn't do the job he should have sent us home w antibiotics and sent us elsewhere, not do a half ass job. So I am repaying for bloodwork and anesthesia all over again.
