Best pottery studio in the city, hands down. Meg is an amazing instructor that has built a lovely, supportive community. The studio welcomes artists of all levels and the students all help each other—I’ve never felt so supported and welcome. It’s a great opportunity to grow as an artist. There are few openings because students leave so seldom. If you want to be part of it, keep trying.

I started a year ago and now I can't stop. Meg is an amazing artist and also an excellent instructor. Not all artists are great teachers, but Meg really takes time to explain and is incredibly patient with you. The community of artists here are wonderful and helpful as well. This studio is a safe space for all people.

This is my Go To for special occasion gifts. Skip the gift registry and Amazon wish list. Get them a one of a kind, hand made item they wouldn't have thought to ask for. You'll will always be remembered for your unique gift.

I waited for months to sign up for their beginner pottery class, even not pursuing other classes as much to try for this one (pottery classes are competitive to get into in Chicago!). I set a calendar reminder and logged on exactly at 12pm CST. I couldn't even click on the link - by 12:01 PM the class had switched to 'Sold Out'. It took an hour for someone to answer the phone and clarify that while it said 'open to new students' that wasn't the case and there were actually only a couple spots open as they gave all the open spots to students already taking classes (who apparently had the chance to sign up before the rest of us did, which is WRONG, or don't even do a new class. Why even advertise).I called and expressed that this was frustrating, to which the person on the phone asked if I would have preferred them to advertise that they had given all the spots away, there were only two open, and this was not actually for NEW students as advertised but for students already in class. I said yes, I actually as this would not have been false advertising and wouldn't have wasted my time and gotten my hopes up. Net net don't waste your time - I hate to say it, but try one of the bigger studios and maybe it'll be run better than these guys.

You will not get into a class here. I've been trying for almost 2 years and it's impossible. They offer classes to their current students only, which I understand, but there isn't even a waiting list for those who've been trying for so long to get away from that other art center in the neighborhood. :(

Don't patronize this place. We strolled in during a street festival and were yelled at by someone there with "didn't you see the sign about masks?" There were many signs on their windows and we would have gladly put on a mask, but just didn't see it. They were so negative that we didn't feel comfortable and just left. Just avoid it. Great products but we shouldn't reward awful people.

Avoid this unwelcoming space. The hours on the door stated the place was open so decided to visit. The two people working, instead of welcoming me, said "wear a mask" and second with "there's a sign". Ok, the sign is to the left of the double doors, and I always mask for respect if needed but unwelcome is not the correct vibe. Lock your door if you don't want anyone in your space.

One of the best decisions I made during the pandemic was to sign up for pottery class at LSPS with my eldest daughter. It has been such a wonderful escape to a creative, educational, and exciting world of ceramics. What puts it over the top is the amazing owner and the community she has built over the years. Thank you Meg for being a ridiculously awesome instructor/human.

Simply the best. Not only is the instructor amazing, but the fellow potters truly become a supportive community. There's no knowledge hoarding here. Everyone is willing to help eachother out. It's been a few years since I've been in the studio and I desperately need to get back to it!

Impossible to sign up for classes, web and calling immediately led to sorry we're sold out - if you can't get in, are you really that great? No.

This is a great place for beginners or artists who just want a space to work on their own. I started taking lessons here a few years ago and now I make gifts for everyone. I love coming back again and again!

I really love the Lincoln Square Pottery Studio Learning Center. The teacher, Meg, has taught me SO much in the time I have taken classes with her. I started taking throwing classes and was able to throw two bowls in my very first class!! Nowadays, I almost exclusively take hand building classes. I love how this studio allows for a lot of creativity and learning for a very reasonable price. Meg is great at giving advice and standing back and let people learn for themselves. I really, REALLY recommend this place to anyone who just wants to start somewhere with ceramics. You need ZERO experience to take classes. You will leave with so much more than some awesome new ceramics. On warning though...it's addictive once you start!! LOL
