Cant get hold of anyone to even view the place. I was quite interested to rent it; tried calling, coming over, noone picks up, noone is ever in the office. Impossible to get in touch with. Well, still trying...

Nice unit but not so good management. Close to the train so you can hear it at night

Do not rent here. Management is awful. Please rent anywhere else. I could list so many examples. RUN.

We scheduled a visit to Lake Street Lofts despite some reservations about the property manager. If you look around at some other review websites you'll find he is frequently brought up in negative reviews. You'll also find some lengthy and/or unprofessional responses from the property manager to those negative reviews. Nevertheless, we thought the space and location warranted a visit. We were told to meet one of their staff members by the entrance but no one ever showed up. We called the office and there was no response. After about 20 minutes we decided the red flags were piling up and this property wasn't for us.

The property manager (Marc) never showed up for our tour despite having scheduled it just a few days prior at a time that he himself had recommended. He then said he'd contact us shortly to reschedule, but failed to do even that.

Bottom Line: 5 stars all around. The 4 stars for noise is only because it's not a concrete building. Noise is not an issue in any way, and it's way quieter than your typical garden apt. If you hear anything, it will be from the neighboring apt and not the one above (or below).I've moved 28 times in 17 years (2002-2019). This is my first review. I lived at Lake St Lofts twice while in Chicago, from 2012-2014 and from 2015-2016. From the manager to the maintenance to the facilities, this is my favorite place to live ANYWHERE. Chicago is also my favorite city, but if you like the honest to God "Loft", look no further. I'm done writing because it's pissing me off that I don't live there right now and after DC, NOLA, NYC, Hawaii, and Europe....I've never been able to find a building like that one.EDIT: referencing the negative comments about the manager....they are unfounded. Those comments are from individuals who were not approved to become leaseholders, or they fail to realize that busy property managers focus on the tenants vice prospects...especially at a location in high demand.

Great apartment building in the sweat Loop. The property manager and maintenance guys are not rented out, but work directly for the building, and they do an awesome job. The building itself is beautiful, built in 1886, with old wood beams and brickwork, but with modern amenities. One of the nicest perks is having your Amazon packages delivered directly to the apartment. And most of the people who rent here are super chill. Can’t recommend it enough.

I have been a resident for about a year and love it! Good neighbors and management. Today my husband lost his wallet in the garbage chute and Luigi was very helpful when trying to find it in the dumpster! Wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
