Great location in the heart of downtown Chicago. We can walk everywhere! We opted for the room rate that includes valet parking with in/out privileges especially since parking in Chicago is so expensive. We selected the Kimpton based on our previous experience on how dog friendly they are. This hotel is dog friendly but only having your dog stay in your room. Since it's October most patios are closed so we had a hard time finding dog friendly restaurants too. Assuming that the Kimpton was dog friendly we were unable to take him to any restaurants within the hotel. Such a miss for us. Since we had to stay in our room we asked for a dog bed and bowls. This is complimentary for your stay. I called the front desk and it took over 1 hour. I had to go down and get them myself and the front desk told me they forgot.

Loved this hotel! We arrived and found the front desk staff to be both friendly and helpful. The woman checking us in informed us we got there just in time to catch the end of the evening wine hour, and she quickly ran to grab us two glasses of wine. The hotel room was as described, very clean, and we found the bed comfortable. A touch I enjoyed was that there was no ice machine on our floor, but instead, a small freezer full of bagged ice you could grab. We also enjoyed dining at the restaurants on the property. It's also a 10 minute walk from the train station, which was very convenient.

Beautiful hotel, great location. This hotel and their staff ruined my trip by taking over $1000 from me before I even stepped foot in my room. We pre-paid for our room. Once we checked in they charged $300 for incidentals and the charges just kept on coming after that, I ended up having to freeze my credit card. There were lots of excuses before any accountability was taken. Very frustrating situation. I spoke with two managers and a customer service representative at the desk. I was offered free breakfast for the inconvenience but they were unable the reverse the charges. I asked to have a night comped due to the inconvenience and they were amenable. I was also given points, although this has left such an awful taste in my mouth in regards to IGH.

Beautiful historic architecture, great location near all the sights, lovely bathrooms with large soaking tubs, and a fantastic premium tea selection in the morning. I can't say enough good things about this hotel, but where the hotel truly shines is the excellent customer service and amenities. Everyone we encountered seemed to do something extra to make me and my family feel welcome. Shea put together an amazing welcome basket for my son, and Emily at the front desk was very accommodating of our requests and made sure we had a wonderful stay.

It's too bad. I obviously lost something and they didn't want to help me find it. The attitude is bad, the facilities are bad, and the room is small. Anyway, I'm speechless.

This was far and away the best hotel experience I've had in many years (and I've had many). It started with the front desk during check-in, being exceptionally accommodating and friendly and continued through our stay. They should be rated as a five diamond hotel. There's no question that we'll be

This lovely Kimpton is located in the Financial District and well located for this 60th birthday celebration. Room is well apportioned, double queen, spacious bathroom, robes, a variety of pillow options. Check in is on the 2nd floor. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Doorman hailed us a cab, front desk was able to give us a late checkout. Next room had a barking dog, but it wasn’t an issue for us and the dog didn’t bark continuously.

I was reluctant to write this review as I wanted to focus on the positive memories of my wedding day. However, I wanted to share my experience in case it could spare a future bride.I worked with Rebecca, the Groups Room coordinator for our guests' wedding day weekend stay. She was initially responsive, but as the weekend neared, her communication dropped off in spire of emails, phone calls, and voicemails. Ultimately, her colleague had to get a hold of her. When we finally connected with Rebecca, we provided a guest list and inquired which guests had booked rooms. She informed us she did not know, nor did she make any attempts to find out. Similarly, when asked, she did not know, nor find out, if guests received their gift bags -with expensive, personalized items - that we left at the front desk as instructed. When we called after the wedding to pick up the extra gift bags, they informed us there were none left.Overall, the hotel process was unclear, and communication was lacking, resulting in added stress during the already stressful wedding weekend. However, some staff were exceptional, including the valet, so they made up for the negative experiences.I share this not to tarnish reputations, but for you to have more information as you plan out this day, you worked so hard for.

Rooms were clean & comfortable. Food service was iffy. Took 2 hours to reach room service. Also, tried to dine in and were told they were close because they were shifting from breakfast to lunch. Never experienced that in a hotel before. Good restaurants nearby, just not as convenient.Update a week later. Received a call from the manager, who apologized for our experience. Assured us she would address these issues with the food service staff. Very professional response and hopefully improvement in the hotel's service. A win for everyone.Nearby activities: In the heart of Chicago, close to everything.

Really well done renovation of an older building. The hotel is super cool without feeling stuffy or too cool for school. Great dining options at the hotel and the Starbucks in the morning was clutch. I recommend ordering your Starbucks on the app to avoid the line as it gets busy in the morning.

The Chicago hotel market is huge and there is a great deal of competition. This hotel excels at trying to take of its guest. I felt at every step the staff was always attentive, The staff has a wide demographic regarding age/ culture, a plus. Great location!

Service was good. Property is beautiful, has marble ceilings and stairs on ground floor. On-site there are couple of restaurants one has wine socials and happy hours. I had dinner in one of them and food was pretty good. Although rooms are updated, need to be careful about which room you are getting, mine was near the elevator corridor so pretty noisy. Also the was a pillar next to the bed, did not like the room.Rooms: Room I got had pillar right next to the bed, which the room weird. Had interrupted sleep as someone knocked the door late night , also there was some noise in the corridor.Food & drinks: Two hoot restaurants in the building. Filmore restaurant had awesome food and good service. Bang bang shrimp was pretty good.

Had one young lady that seemed to enjoy her job and the doormen were very nice, but the rest of my encounters with the staff were underwhelming. While the young lady worked to store our bags on our final day, the other man working reception was going to make us wait until someone else returned. It did not appear to be for lack of knowing what to do, but that he didn't really care to assist. Great location though, minutes to museums, Cloud Gate, etc., and very nice rooms.Walkability: Within walking distance of the Magnificent Mile, Cloud Gate, Navy Pier, etc.

An amazing experience, I came from Canada and sadly forgot to put a travel notice on my credit card. My card was locked until 11pm when I got there at 3pm. Jaylah and the manager Roderica were so sweet and were still able to find a way to help me into my room. The room was very clean, staff was very sweet and the hotel was next to everything I needed. Definitely became my first choice for when I come back to Chicago!
