I am attending puppy dog class here with our new puppy and we are learning so much! This is the first time I have ever trained a puppy and knew I would need lots of help. The staff here is helpful and highly capable. Highly recommend

We were very fortunate to find K9U & to meet our dog’s trainer, Pablo. We still cannot believe the amazing changes we’ve noticed after our rescued dog spent 3 weeks at board & train once we realized we needed serious help to address, assist and meet our dog’s needs due to being dog reactive and not even being able to walk him. K9U opened our eyes to a whole new world of dog training filled with understanding and patience that led to amazing positive changes to our dog’s general behavior and demeanor. As we continue with training, we 100% trust their method and ability/recommendations when working with our dog’s needs. We are still learning but our dog is much happier and able to enjoy life, which couldn’t make us happier. We are forever grateful with Pablo because he was always open to talk to us and answer all of our questions, which is very much appreciated. Also, staff made sure we got report cards almost every day to see our dog’s progress and to learn from his trainer. Shout out to Wonder & Banner that also helped Boyce with being a better dog!

Both of my dogs, BaoBao & Hamilton, enjoyed their time at K9 University Chicago’s doggie day care. They can’t wait to come back this week!

K9 University is a fabulous place to take your fur babies. No matter the issue your dog has, they work with you and your dog to make their experience at daycare a successful one. They know how to make you feel at ease especially if you are anxious about your dog. Unlike the daycare on Ashland in Evanston where my dog came out smelling like urine every time he went there and the owner was the worst person I had ever dealt with, K9 university staff and trainers know how to take care of any type of dog, they don't smell like urine and most of all they will love your dog as If it's their own. So glad I found them!!!!! I would give them 20 stars if I could.

My dogs love this place. I've been a customer since 2000 with all the dogs I've had through the years, and have seen their business transition from a small store front in Wicker Park, to the large location on lake Street. The staff is super friendly and their customer service is great. I took advantage of the puppy play dates on the weekend in 2023, but did not participate in their training programs (I do my own). Now at 18 months, I take my dogs for day camp and ongoing enrichment sessions which include agility for fun and exercise (not meant to be serious training for competition), ongoing obedience reinforcement (off leash, relaxation in high traffic areas, advance obedience reinforcement, etc.). Jonathan does a great job in keeping me posted on their progress outside of the portal report cards. This is a unique experience for my dogs and I have not found a similar service anywhere else.Besides the enrichment and daycare, my dogs have also been boarded without issue and joined in on the holiday party festivities which included pictures with Santa. My dogs have never gotten sick after a visit over the many years I've been to K9; my only wish is that they install a sanitizing dog bowl station (like a commercial dish washer). They rinse and wash the bowls regularly but I'm a clean freak, so that's mostly on me.I've recommend this place to friends, and they've been happy with their experience also. Hope this review helps and good luck with your search.Cheers!

We love the work and commitment to our dog, Sokka. Pablo is an excellent trainer. He is helping us with Sokka's behavior issues. We recommend this place.

Was going to call them for info but after reading these reviews and that a dog died in their care, I'm passing. It seems like a horrible place.

K9 has been such a positive experience for us. There are many dog facilities in the city of chicago but we chose k9 because they offer transportation. K9’s staff has always been incredibly responsive, flexible, and most importantly kind to both us dog parents and Franklin our dog. We have had a positive experience with all of the K9 drivers, but Sandra has been the main driver who picks up our dog. We are so incredibly blessed to have her. She does a great job with Franklin and we know our dog is safe when she is transporting. I highly recommend this facility and will continue to use them for the foreseeable future.

We did the free trial with transportation and it went great! The staff is very helpful and communicative. They also send photos of your pup throughout the day. Definitely will be rebooking in the future!

Thrilled with the experience our dog, Finnegan, had at K9 University board and train program with Cassie! We received regular updates, photos and videos which provided us with comfort seeing Finn enjoying his time, learning and playing. Cassie was an absolute joy to work with and Finn agrees, too!

Update 2/1/24 - Cooper 20 month, my Cane Corso has been attending K9 University Chicago since 9/ 2022.K9 is still standing strong for and furry pet. Cooper absolutely enjoyes going there to play with his little fur friends and staff. K9 still provides the best possible services meeting my Cooper needs being he is getting older and growing into his breed. The staff have showed him so much love, indirect training that Cooper is behaved and not to mention all the socialization. Its just amazes me everytime im out in public with Cooper how taking him to K9 is worth it. We will be lifelong clients.

My dog had a GREAT experience at K9 university! I usually WFH so he doesn’t do well on his own. I chose the daycare and transportation option because he typically doesn’t need to eat/have a bathroom break from 2-5 while I’m at work. After daycare, he was EXHAUSTED. He slept the whole time and didn't wait at the door when I came home (like he usually does when I pop out of the apartment for an hour or two). I’m looking forward to using them each time I need to go into the office.

Very unprofessional, Alyssa is condescending and rude. Very disturbing how she is able to be there and even work with dogs. Sad and horrible girl!Update: they ask who is Alyssa but I have proof of text from her. So weird

My dogs have been coming here for almost 5 years. The love all of the staff have for my pups shows the second we walk through the door, and I just know everyone cares a lot about my babies. I appreciate getting photos of them while i’m at work, and I fully trust K9 to be a second home for them when we are away on trips. I am a forever customer.

I am incredibly fortunate to have found K9 University. After attempting to work with other dog day cares/borders (and being sent away due to my reactive dog), I found K9 University and Jonathan. From the very start, K9 & Jonathan made it clear that they would not turn my dog away and we would work together to get her acclimated to other dogs and people. While we still have some work ahead of us, I've been able to travel for work and board my dog, without worry. AND, I've seen progress in my dog and her willingness to interact with others. The folks at K9 genuinely care about the dogs and people they serve. I can't say greater things about everyone here. THANK YOU K9!
