Pricing falsely advertised. Today listed incorrectly 2/4 of my items rang up wrong and associate said “it must have been marked wrong”. Geez.

Pretty standard Jewel with the selection you’d expect at a grocery store of this type. They have a better selection of keto-friendly products than Mariano’s down the road. However, they’re not always well stocked and the checkout situation is pretty bad as other reviewers have indicated.

Relatively inexpensive and affordable selection. Little dodgy outside, but not too bad.

I can’t stress enough how under-staffed and over priced Jewels are.
I spent 15 minutes looking for different products in the store, I couldn’t find any staff to ask for help. I called the store from the aisle and asked customer service which aisle my items are in, and I still waited on the phone for 6 minutes for someone to pick up the phone. The best part is you could hear the automated voice on the loud speaker alerting the staff to the incoming call.
EDIT: (9/16/24)
This is the lack of thoughtfulness or consideration I’m referring to. You comment on my review, apologizing and yet you can’t get my name correct.

I moved into the area not too long ago because of the close proximity between my new place of residence, Wrigleyville (Chicago Cubs) and the Lakefront. Today was the first time I shopped at the store. I found this particular Jewel Osco to be top notch, of the highest quality, and very clean. Honestly, most Jewel Osco Stores in general are awesome, but this particular store really impressed me because of the variety of produce, and product in general. I didn't do too much walking around, but from what I saw, I loved it. What sort of dulled the great impression I had, and prevented me from giving this store 5 stars was the somber mood of the checkout cashier (Stephanie). I believe she just opened. Of course Stephanie had no idea it was my first time in the store or how much I was liking it, but a "Hello! How are you doing this morning?" would have gone a long way. All I saw was a "poker face," not a friendly face. Aside from asking me if I had a phone number with Jewel, it was almost as if I wasn't there, and she was simply going through the motions of checking out a phantom customer. To be fair, it was 9:30 am in the morning, and maybe she just needed time to adjust, time to wake up. That said, when you are in the service industry, and your job regularly brings you into close contact with the general public, you may sometimes have to put on an act if you are not in the mood to be friendly. You never know who it was you just checked out.

Started walking here with my son during my maternity leave and we really enjoy the walk, but questioning whether I will keep up the tradition. Today I was overcharged and then told that customer service wouldn’t open until 8am. You have the store open for two hours without offering customer service?? I understand that employees are short since covid, but there were plenty of employees in the aisles, and it seems to me that a store interested in keeping customers would have a manager on duty to hop behind the counter if an error occurs. There have been other inconveniences here, but this seemed too big to ignore. A store that turns away a mom and baby isn’t one I wish to give my money to.

Used to come here somewhat regularly but after today I’ll never shop at this location again. At noon on a Sunday there was precisely 1 checkout aisle open, with lines backed up down the aisles. The self checkout is now capped at 15 items. Rather than do anything to ameliorate the situation, the attendant literally jumped ahead of me to to close the checkout because I had more than 15 items.
To reiterate, the staff would rather CLOSE self checkout stations than allow someone to checkout with more than 15 items while all lines are backed up.
Also the deli and meat counter exist in theory only. You will only get service there by tracking down an employee and demanding assistance.
I really want to support one of the last remaining local chains, but the management and staff of this location is atrocious.

Meat counter is really lacking. Aisles are cramped and it's hard to find what you need. I really only go here if it's my last choice.
