A huge grocery store that is clean and has a huge variety. The prices are comparative and sometimes over priced and some in range. They have Arabic stuff that i really like. There is a little Starbucks inside and an Associated Bank inside as well. A lovely florist inside ad well.

There is one outstanding pharmacist and a couple of very kind and helpful pharmacy techs. The other pharmacist(s) are incredibly rude and unhelpful, will mock you or react sarcastically if you insist that you got a refill reminder or your doctor called in a prescription, only to have it turn out if you check back with one of the good pharmacy employees later that day it was actually there all along. Grocery side, absolutely check expiration dates if you dare to eat anything in the store. And watch out if you can’t find your card, get your app to work, or even if you’re just standing there checking out, you’re likely to be stared down if not outright accused of shoplifting. At least they don’t discriminate so much, equally rude to everyone.

This is the most unprofessional Jewel on the north side of Chicago. The workers who are there specifically the night workers among closing time are very unprofessional and rude to customers. I have seen customers ask them for help and they look annoyed you are asking them for help and come up with smart remarks to customers. They also follow people around the store who look different than them to see if they are stealing or not when they are clearly just shopping. I have seen this many times at this Jewel on Clark street. The only person who works there at night that is pleasant is a nice young lady she is very professional and nice to customers. There is also a creepy worker who works at night shift and follows people who have carts around to make sure they aren’t stealing them. He will follow you invade your space and totally creep you out. I have seen him do this many times. He is an older guy with glasses. The carts have locks on them. No need to stalk people to their cars to get a cart back it’s very rude and creepy. The night staff not the lady but most of the guys who work there seriously need to learn how to treat customers nice. People spend there hard earn money to shop at our neighborhood Jewel. I have the most unpleasant shopping experience when shopping at this jewel and would give 0 stars if I could. Please just treat customers better.

There’s an older woman that works there and makes it so unpleasant to shop here. I’ve dealt with her so many times but recently saw her belittling a senior couple. They didn’t know how to clip a coupon on their phone and the woman kept asking sarcastically if they knew how to use a phone and went as far as calling them ignorant. The couple did not speak fluent English which is why I’ms sure that’s why she was behaving this way and taking advantage of that. She’s also been rude any time I’ve asked her a simple question and has done the same to my roommate when I’m around. Simply a bitter person and management has dismissed any complaints.

This store used to have a very good dairy department. Stocked and full. Now it is empty, looks unorganized and smells funny. The store has gone down in quality in the past year unfortunately. The workers look overworked and not enough employees. I will be going to Mariano’s from now on. It smells clean and is cleaner. Do better jewel.

The aisles in the Osco part of the store are too narrow but everything else is fine.

We ran into this Jewel to pick up a few ingredients for a party. They had all sorts of produce deals advertised in the store (i.e lemons for $0.49), so we decided to do more shopping and take advantage of these deals. We had an entire cart full and went to the assisted check-out. The lady was pleasant, but had troubles ringing up the produce, because it required her to scan a bar code at the register, but it somehow it mis-scanned all the time. It took a while to get all the produce rung up and the line behind us formed quite long. When we were finally done, I punched my phone number into the register and expected to get the sale price, however we were still charged full price. I asked why we don’t get advertised sale price, and we were told that we need to download the app first and scan that extra coupons via the app, otherwise it’s full price. Since the line behind us was super long and I already saw the customers behind us almost flipping over with eye rolls, we decided to leave all the sale items behind and only buy what we originally came for. Not sure if that falls under bait & switch practices, but one should be able to get the advertised price at the register without having to go through an app download.

First time to this store in a few years. They have definitely stepped up their game. Better selections in several departments. Their higher prices were almost funny to see compared to other places in the country. They sell less of their store brand so you have to buy name brand and higher prices. Too bad because 'Signature' is usually healthier recipes (lower fat, salt, sugar).
