Purchased LG range from Jerusalem Discount Plus (JDP) via amazon. The deliveryperson was nice, the package was well-padded, intact and undamaged but when we opened the box, we noticed that the inner glass of the inner door had a gap as shown in the picture. We contacted JDP first and were told to contact LG since it was a "manufacturer's defect". The JDP rep said that they didn't know about the defect. I guess to convince us with "logic", the rep wrote that, had JDP known about the defect, they would have sold it at a discount. That response was not reassurring since one would hope that they would never sell aftermarket appliance no matter what the discount but, as advised, I contacted LG via chat and was told that there were no LG repair servicer in our area (obviously untrue since we live fairly near major cities) but they would get back to us (see the screenshot). They never did. Tried by email and still LG gave us nothing but crickets. We contacted JDP again and they got in touch with LG for us, saying that, in their experience, the repairperson would replace the door. Of course, that made me wonder how many LG ranges with defective doors they've sold! It took weeks for the repairperson to show up (very nice guy, though) and he was able to fix the oven window and tested the oven to be sure it worked since we couldn't use it until the window was fixed. The repair person also pointed out that there was a dent at the edge of the door near the handle which exposed sharp metal. He said the range was probably dropped at the factory, knocking the window out of position and bending the metal. He offered to communicate with LG about replacing the door since, even with the window fixed, there still was an area of razor sharp metal exposed at the handle. LG turned him down, saying that the dent was "cosmetic" so it was not covered by warranty although the range was brandnew! I contacted JDP and told them what happened and got a crazy response from them (see the screenshot). In a masterclass of gaslighting, the rep argued that we bought the range at a discount, implying that we shouldn't expect much from them. Remember how the rep initially reasoned that I shouldn't suspect that JDP sold us an "aftermarket" product, rather than a new product as advertised, because we didn't buy it at a mark down price? (see the screenshot) So, applying the reps own logic, does that mean it was an aftermarket range? The rep also blamed me for not identifying all of the defects when I first contacted them. Of course, there was no way for me to thoroughly evaluate the range when I first contacted them since I could not even safely turn the oven on without the inner heat tempered glass gap! To sum it up - Both JDP and LG cheated us. Avoid them at all costs.
