This bank has the most unhelpful staff. I have been trying to get a check reissued from when I closed out my account in June and I’ve had to jump through hoops to get anything done. The staff here does not seem to know what’s going on or how to handle issues that arise. Don’t go here if you want to resolve an account issue.

My visit was smooth, but they literally have a metal detector and doors that they open from inside. I am not complaining because I value my safety as well, so it's not a bad thing. They were very pleasant.

I'm having the strangest experience with this bank. It's annoying but I need to find a new bank which will even be more of a hassle bc I have an IRA. Basically every time I come here the rep has to look up instructions on how to do what I needDo they not train their employees on how to do their job? I always end up sitting there while they learn about how to do their job

This bank and each of its employees are such a value add to my business in Uptown. They make transacting and banking very fun and I am grateful for all the work they do. I would recommend working with this branch to anyone with a business in northern Chicago.

Trash! I have never had to go through airport security to enter a bank this location in particular has metal detectors before you're permitted to enter. The whole thing is automated and I have a Pin in my leg that sets it off every time I try to come into this branch. There's no one to help you no one will approach the window it just keeps repeating remove all metal try again what an insult to your customers no one told you to build a branch in one of the most violent areas of Chicago put up more bulletproof glass between the tellers and the lobby don't inconvenience every customer to strip search in the lobby just to go to the bank

I used to be a TCF customer but they got bought out by Huntington last year. In over 30 years of doing my banking with various banks throughout my lifetime I had never experienced so many problems in all of those years (over 3 decades!) as I have in 7 months with Huntington Bank. And that's not just me. It's every single Huntington customer I have ever had a conversation with. They have lost deposits. Try paying bills when your paychecks go missing. A few months ago there was an issue with my debit card and it took nearly a month for the bank to give me my new one. Every time I tried to talk to an employee about my debit card situation they would just try to talk me into getting a credit card with them instead, and would not let up. Whenever there is a problem with your account (and there WILL be problems with your account, many problems) no employee at any location nor any employee on the phone will know how to fix it. Also, whenever you go into this or any other one of their locations on the north side of Chicago you might as well bring a tent and a sleeping bag because you are going to be there for a long, long time. I was in there recently and there were only 3 people ahead of me in line, 3 tellers working, and it still took 45 minutes to get any help. The lady behind me in line started talking about how they are ALWAYS like this, she used to be a TCF customer and Huntington has caused her so many problems she's planning to switch banks soon. I told her I was in the exact same boat and we spent the entire 45 minutes swapping horror stories about Huntington Bank... and we didn't even get through all of our horror stories in our 45 minutes! Yesterday I went in to the location at 5516 N. Clark, and it was the same thing. Should have brought a sleeping bag. This time both the woman in front of me AND the guy in line behind me started talking about how much they hate Huntington Bank, and all 3 of us swapped Huntington horror stories for the entire time we waited in line (over an hour). The next time I walk into a Huntington Bank it will be to close out my account .

You do not want to use this bank if you have any decent funds needed for business or personal. The representatives at the call center have a hard time with English and are not helpful. On the plus side my card was stopped because of fraudulent transactions. However, the telephone agent couldn't give me any information about how this happened. I had to visit their banking kiosk and Adriana Martinez the Assistant Branch Manager was great in helping with this major problem. I was a TCF customer for many years and their performance, other than Ms Martinez was head and shoulders above Huntington. It's a shame to see an acquiring company dilute the quality of the original company.

Omg this bank is awful 1.5 hours on hold to speak to a rep. Trying again today. Call back in more than one hour? They bought TCF, which is how I ended up with them. I called about an issue and they said I had to wait for transition issues to be completed. Now I can't get them on the phone. I won't be a customer for long.

I felt like I was going through airport security! They have some weird automated metal detection system. Well I have a pin in my leg, the automated voice just continued to tell me to remove all metal and try again. I'm not going to strip in the bank lobby because "metal detected". Why don't you have mag strip reader at that door, have customers insert debit card and have it populate my ID photo on the PC for verification?
