I want to leave the apartment and they don't give me a solution, they want me to pay to leave before the end of my contract, but I told them no because at the beginning I paid an amount to enter the apartment and the month's rent in total 2 payments, I call but the girl who answers doesn't give a solution

I live at 2240 W Farwell and I’m counting down the days for my lease to be over (unfortunately in January) or to be let out of my lease early(I’ve asked multiple times what the termination process is, no response). I’ve had nothing but issues since I’ve moved in- with days of no heat in my apartment while the boiler was being replaced, my upstairs neighbors (5 adults in a 1 bedroom) are extremely loud, stomping banging blasting their TV, roaches, very inconsiderate and rude neighbors who leave the building a dirty mess and leave crumbled crackers and food through the lobby and stairwell (and don’t care for picking up their laundry timely), I’ve had my packages opened, the list goes on. Majority of the time I don’t get any responses to my resident portal requests, management probably thinks I’m being a Karen when I reach out but all of my concerns and complaints are valid. The building itself is maintained well on the exterior but all in all I cannot wait to MOVE OUT OF HERE.

I have lived three years in locations 606 west Cornelia the studio was amazing as the design and location of building is perfect but after Dameer the building manager left the building was super dirty and cockroaches everywhere I see at least 5 or 4 in one day no matter how much I clean and rats in garage of the building they didn’t care about their tenants and until this moment my name in the door opening device people call me on it after two years from moving.
At the end the people including me we started to clean the mail room ourselves.

Lived here for 4 years, the first year was great, anything maintenance wise was fixed quick. However since the pandemic it was horrible, maintenance would promise to come and never come, i had to sent multiple messages in order to get anything fixed, and the maintenance person threatened me at one point because i was allowed to deduct from my rent due to the ongoing maintenance issues that they never came by to resolve (and i was legally allowed to do so). The apartment itself has a lot of promise, its a great size, but hunter properties never spends time to do maintenance on it, and instead of patching things up, they haphazardly give it the landlord special, every time.

Such arrogant service and dishonest. They were fully aware of my situation from the start and promisedvto work with me. They lied. Took the application money and ran. Just like all the hives in this industry. I am suing for discrimination.

Stay far away from this company. They take forever to respond to maintenance requests, and all of their properties are in very poor, aging condition. They invest no money in their properties unless it's absolutely necessary, they do not care about the tenants well being.

Definitely not a professional location. Have called for days and don't receive a call back. Very unorganized. They say it busy but than hire more staff to handle the phone lines

It took weeks of calling with no response, and typically an inability to even leave a voicemail. After not hearing back for weeks, I gave up. Finally, I got a random text "Good morning. Are you looking at apartments?" I responded, and got no response. Then I called and for the first time in literally 8 weeks, someone answered. I had a follow up question about the tour I had scheduled regarding which unit, and I never heard back. I was told to call a half hour before the appointment, I did, someone answered and confirmed someone would be there. I got there early. No one showed up until 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment and it was a young guy with an unprofessional appearance. I truly have no idea how this company rents any apartments considering you can't get ahold of them 99% of the time until you apparently get an ominous email weeks later. Good luck if you're using them - I can't imagine their service is any better after signing a lease.

I live in one of their buildings and it is infested with mice. I have called them about it. They send out an exterminator who yells at me for putting down glue traps. Which are the only thing that works. In addition they have a handy man that has stolen my door mat and refuses to come by and fix a kitchen cabinet. Everything is falling apart in this building. No matter what I do they don't fix the problems. Rent at your own risk. I pay over a thousand for a one bedroom with mice and roaches. I do not recommend this landlord. Not even to someone I would dislike.

I had a horrible experience with them. I applied a month ago. I provided a proof of income the 1st time. Then they sent me an email saying they need better proof of income, like an “employment letter “. Then, they never replied to my calls and e-mails. I reached out to them 4 times via email, messaged the person who showed me the apartment, and she never replied. I called more then 20 times during the month. No one called me back or answered the phone. And now when it’s the end of the month I’m finding out I was not approved because they didn’t like the employment letter that my manager wrote, like they suggested. They finally picked up the phone, to tell me that I wasn’t approved. Stay away from them, they will not do the work, you will be doing their work for them by following up for months. Now I have to try to find another apartment in couple of days, otherwise I’m going to be roofless with my toddler. The woman on the phone maria de leon , was very rude and careless.

Hunter Properties has its mixed reviews on here. Just want to share my own experience with them since I just moved out recently and had no complaints. I stayed with Hunter Properties at two locations throughout the years: First, at 606 w Cornelia in 2011-2012 when I was an international student and they took me in with no income, no social security number, no credit history, but just a proof of schooling and proof of enough funds for some months. I remember the building maintenance was living in the building and was always ready to help fix anything and everything. Second, at 3862 N Lincoln in 2015-2022 when I just got married as a pending immigrant and was waiting on my work permit. They took me in quickly like the first time even though we didn't have much rental history to prove but we always paid our rent on time. They gave us a lower price due to winter market inactivity and fixed up everything we asked for before moving in. Stayed there for 7.5 years and my husband and I both enjoyed the space a lot. Price was the most affordable in town. Our landlord was amazing and attentive, and property management helped with everything else as well. They always responded to our emails and calls quickly, and the staff in office were always very friendly and welcoming. I genuinely hope that others will have the same great experience we had with Hunter Properties! It was a solid 5-star for me.
