I wish I read the reviews before my purchase. Agree with reviews that Samantha, the sales associate, comes out rude and mean. I bit my tongue because it might have been the off day for her, but seems to be common. but I just wish I didn’t make the purchase.

It’s certainly is a highly unusual gallery of knickknacks. Didn’t find any useful gifts but did find a handful of ‘interesting’ things.

This is a letter I sent to the artist Tim Cotterill about the business practices of this gallery.“I want to make you aware of a situation that I experienced with one of you authorized galleries. Recently I purchased a frog from the HoyPoloy gallery in Chicagos O’Hare air port online. I found out that I was charged sales tax which I questioned because it was an order from Florida. Up on inquiring I received a email that stated that I was sold a frog from “the owners private collection “ and he lives in Florida there for I was charged sales tax. My reply was that I had no idea that I was buying a second hand sculpture nowhere in the description did it say that it was a previously owned sculpture. I buy from galleries to make sure I get artists originals that are new. There are a string of emails I received from them but I don’t want to get into them. If you are interested I can forward them to you but I think that you should know that the gallery in question is peddling in second hand sculptures that are sold as new to your customers.”

I love stopping here when I fly United thru O'Hare, it is a genuinely special art gallery filled with beautiful and unique items, definitely worth the visit. If you're really lucky, you'll get a chance to meet Mr. Hoy himself, his passion for the artwork he carries is infectious and discussing the various pieces with him is a sincere pleasure.

Beautiful things indeed! But the shop assistant is very rude. It certainly doesn't invite you to shop. Barely tells you the prices.
