4555 N Western Ave, Chicago“I love this little boutique store filled with local art in all types of mediums. Great gift ideas and some fantastic Chicago specific decor finds. Great store in my favorite neighborhood in the city.”
“I love this store. I think curation is thoughtfully done. The prices vary so there’s “something for everyone.” You can tell they care about the details. It’s very neighborhood friendly too which is a nice touch. I hope more people continue to cross paths with this little store especially now that they have a bigger space! Very exciting. Also there’s a lot of women made things in the store- noticeably a women supporting women kind of business ? they also have some amenity items ive never seen in the US and am so grateful they carry.”
“Stopped into One Strange Bird for the first time today! The associate was really helpful and super friendly. I was impressed by the quality of the items and the prices. Will definitely be back. Thank you for the warm invite, Naomi!”
“For my visit to Chicago I visited this gallery store. They have a wide variety of items and accessories that make the public want to buy more.
I would have liked to see even more things for men, most of them are focused on just gender. But if you come here again, you will find many things of decorations and accessories for you and the house.”
“Christine was the sweetest, warmest person. Even with as much random stuff they have she knew exactly where the item was! The most amazing experience! So happy I stopped in!”
“Business owner Anita and her family stopped by our dealership last week and took delivery of a brand new Grecale! They personally delivered this wonderful edible arrangement - WOW! A fantastic business owner, we appreciate her being a loyal customer going above and beyond.
Thank you from Napleton Aston Martin Maserati of Downers Grove!”
“Finally went in after years of admiring stuff in the window. What a nice guy and a cool store—will definitely be back in the future. Beautiful and comfortable clothes that are so vibrant!”

10AM - 6:30PM
2900 W Armitage Ave, Chicago“super cute store and the employee working was so much fun to talk to. was great visiting from atlanta and was excited to stumble upon this place. she recommended us going to an oddities store right down the street when we were leaving, and that place was super cool too!”
“Fantastic shop with a wide array of Latinx, LGBTQ+, and Chicagoland products. Love the intersectionality. I learned about some new local artists as a bonus. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating, even when I accidentally knocked things on the floor. Can't wait to come back again and see what's new. Next time I'll budget time to get a tarot reading!”
“What a lovely shop, with an even lovelier proprietor! I've been visiting metta baby down the street for the last few weeks, and when I've passed Virtu it piqued my interest. Today I was at metta baby for a CPR refresher so I finally had the opportunity to head down the block and check it out. The owner had opened it a few minutes early because when I got there at 10:58 (they open at 11) there were already a few people in and she joked that perhaps she should open at 10.She was super friendly with everyone in the store and very helpful. There were a couple folks with whom she was talking about the being a business owner (they were also business owners), and the business climate in Bucktown. She was joking around with some other customers about some funny cards that she carries. When I was looking at the various jewelry cases she has throughout the store, she let me know right away that if I wanted to see anything to let her know, and she told me about some of the designers that she had in her shop. I really enjoyed talking with her, and I'm almost ashamed I didn't get her name. Her passion for her business and local businesses in general, as well as her dedication to truly providing fantastic and thoughtful service to her customers was palpable. Virtu's proprietor is the epitome of why I LOVE to shop local; oftentimes people at mass merchandisers, whilst hard working and helpful, don't have the same sort of pride, flexibility, and ethos of care that a local business owner does.I visited a couple days before Halloween, and she mentioned that after the holiday she'd start putting out the Christmas merchandise which is already waiting to make its debut. I think she also mentioned that she has extended hours during the holiday season. I'm excited to stop in once she's in the holiday swing to see what I can find here for friends, loved ones (and who knows, maybe even myself), and maybe even something special for my little one's first Christmas.”

1349 N Wells St, Chicago“Perfection. Go there! My favorite part was asking if they had rubber chickens. "I think we do! In the back." And they did, a bag of the tiny rubber chickens I needed.”
“My favorite smoke shop! The owner is the best. She's super sweet and very helpful. I go here for all my smoke stuff. Very unique and beautiful selection of pipes and accessories. Great place for gifts.”
“There is a lovely variety of cute items available for selection, with a special affection for the candles and incense. My recommendation is wholeheartedly given!”
10AM - 6:30PM
605 Michigan Ave, Chicago“Absolutely loved seeing a store like this on Michigan Ave. It felt like walking into a Mercado in Mexico. Prices are pretty fair considering the quality and artisan goods. Loved finding this gem.”
“I was kind of going between 4 and 5 stars, but thought to bump it up to a 5 because its a small business and exactly the kind of store you want in your community. The basic premise is that its a store that showcases Chicago based items and Chicago based companies. I really like it because its a great place to buy a unique gift for somebody. I would say most of the items lean towards "home goods", but if you ever need something for a housewarming party or need that last minute birthday gift, this place has you covered. If there is any "downside" is that their items tend to be a little bit on the expensive side. That really shouldn't be surprising as it is a small business supporting other small businesses. I also wish they had wider hours, but the foot traffic might not call for it. If you are looking for a cool Chicago gift for yourself or somebody else, I would highly recommend checking this place out! They are very nice and have some really good finds!”
11AM - 6PM
4757 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago“This store is very beautiful and with a wide variety of items for all seasons, I really recommend it 100% you can get gift cards, ornaments, stickers, candles among many other nice things to give a small gift or a big one, why not?”
“My shopping experience in this business was very pleasant! The owner did a wonderful job making me feel welcome, and provided great customer service. Gift wrapping skills are on point at this shop.”
11AM - 7PM
1835 W Montrose Ave, Chicago“I would caution against letting this store gift wrap when they’re busy. The ornament I bought was broken on the corner when the recipient opened the gift. Of course she was too gracious to let me take it back since she really loved the ornament and chose to hang it broken. Better to take it and wrap it properly yourself.Update: 5 stars! The ornament was replaced and sent to the receiver. And the communication was excellent. They even corrected my mistake when I transposed the address. Thanks for great customer service!”
“Happy Cabbage is my go to for thoughtful, special gifts. Whether it’s for the holidays, a birthday, a thank you or a hostess gift, Kate takes care of every last little detail (and at every price point). I love working with her to customize each detail or letting her take the reigns (and stress away!) of the gifting process. Love!”
“One of my favorite boutiques in Chicago, I always stop here when visiting to look for gifts. Excellent selection of Christmas decor and ornaments during the holidays as well. Staff is super friendly & helpful every time.”
“Good store for postcrossing. Lots of gift shops don't supply postcards for whatever reasons, but Transit Tees has a good variety of Chicago themed cards. My only wish is I use multiple stamps when exchanging postcards internationally so wish the description text was positioned differently since the stamps will cover the text sometimes. But the art is beautiful on the postcards.”
“If you ever need a unique gift - this is the place to go! They have such an eclectic array of cards, frames, art, books and a whole host of other fun items. What I also like is the local flavor of items and their season gifts. There are Chicago themed items that look vintage or are fun for any room in the house. Finally - the service here is excellent. Even when the store is packed (which is almost every time I go in), there is always someone to help and make great recommendations.”
“Hazel apparel has a lovely selection of beautiful clothing, accessories like creative colorful socks and scarves, great stocking stuffers for Christmas. They also offer free holiday gift wrapping which is so appreciated. The staff are pleasant, helpful and gracious, and you walk out feeling like you are a special customer. Thank you.”
“Got a custom bouquet here for a wake I was attending. They did an amazing job and allowed me to see how different flowers/ colors would look. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I need flowers!”
“Je suis enfin arrivé ici, quel bijou ! Super esthétique et un espace cool chic. Le brouillard nomade de Londres est délicieux, essayez-le ! Le pain aux bananes était savoureux mais vraiment sec. J'adore l'ambiance consciente, ils ont beaucoup de marques uniques de petites entreprises et quelques sièges. Facile d'accès. Le personnel était très accueillant”
“One of my absolute favorite shops in Logan Square! I stop in fairly frequently and love seeing the new things- the shop is always so well curated! The owner is so sweet and welcoming, doesn’t matter if it’s a busy or quiet day. Great shop for gifts or for finding a treat for yourself- my favorite sections to check are the hair accessories, pots and vases for plants, and the art prints”
“Great collection of vintage pottery glassware prints lamps and various eclectic decorating options . Prices are extremely reasonable. If this store was on Armitage Ave I’m guessing the prices would be 50% higher.”
“Such a fun little shop! There is something quirky for everyone in here, perfect for gifts for sure. Little games, fun stationary, puzzles, mugs, tote bags, andersonville paraphernalia they got them all!”
“Wissanee (one of the owners) was super kind and helpful. Such a bright and light human being. I went with my friend and her energy was just absolutely wonderful. She is so genuine and the store is beautiful as well. Will 100% be back at AMADARA soon. Truly worth it.”
