Hello, I just wanted to explain my 1 star review. I understand this is not a high pressure physical job. I pre-ordered and received no phone call or text/email from GameStop or employee from this Howard Chicago location for madden.
Today I went to pick up the game and was told the game was gutted and had to pick pick up the game in 48 hours or less?
A.K.A sold. From the nose pieced lady who did not care and answering a very long phone call while we were speaking on August 19th 2024 while having a full blown conversation and very ignorant. So rude because I work at restaurants and she didn’t know how to keep calm.
Again no one informed me I had 48 hours to pick up the game when I pre-ordered the item.
This makes me sick, there is no reason why GAMESTOP should be taking pre orders in general. I’m very upset and will never pre order from this location. This person was the worse and disgruntled human being I ever met to be treated like this.
Last time I ever go there and renew my magazine subscription.
So i couldn’t get my $5 back and had to move it to SILENT HILL… the store had 4 people that day around 4pm.
So astound on the lack of work. It’s a video game store.
And her comment was “sorry I didn’t work the last few days”.
Just horrible. 0 stars if I could!

Went in for a trade in, and an employee named Charles took care of me. It was one of the best experiences that I've had at a GameStop. A lot of it had to do with how passionate Charles was about the job. I'd recommend this location to everyone.

I like this Gamestop the most because of Layla. A lot of stores have people working who clearly don't give a damn but she always greets me with a smile. It's nice to chat with someone about gaming while being rung up. These days you expect a lot less from retail, but im glad to know good customer service is still around.

Stopped by to browse the Nintendo Switch games and I was glad they had variety! Hit multiple bases with this pick up - Pokémon, Tony Hawk, Mario…ahh the nostalgia of being a kid and using the Light Attachment for the Gameboy Color..staying up all hours of the night. Cheers!

I can't be the only gaming n*** with severe asthma and COPD. This GameStop smells so incredibly strong, it's horrendous. I'm talking the equivalent of 50 glade plug in's that punch you in your face the moment you open the door. If you have chemical triggered asthma or COPD beware. There are a bunch of disabled gamers and to use such invasive smell isn't so inclusive and pretty much unaccessible.
