I'm a professional massage therapist and a Reiki Master and I hired Gary to take a new photo for me to grace the cover of my website. I was looking for an image that we be both calming and inviting. I told Gary what I was looking for and he delivered to me exactly what I wanted. He had the idea of taking the photo outdoors which is exactly what gave it that extra vibe that I wanted. He was also extremely down to earth and easy to work with. He also took some great photos of my Airbnb which have been a great new selling point. I can't recommend him enough!

Gary took my professional headshot and he just thought of everything and was so kind. I was very nervous and he made it a pleasant experience. He also coordinates with an excellent makeup artist. I would recommend him to anyone.

I have contracted with Gary Ward many times in the last 20 years to take photographs at fundraising events for the organizations I led. He is professional, prompt, good with event guests/sponsors, and delivers high quality photos. Most recently, he photographed the 10th Anniversary Gala of the Cook County Health Foundation. We received the photos the day after the event, and they captured everything we had asked for! Gary is also very well priced for the service he delivers. I would recommend Gary to any organization.

In my position as Director of Visual Merchandising and Wholesale at a major clothing brand, I contracted Gary Ward at G. Thomas Ward Photography multiple times. He photographed our flagship store on Oak Street, images for our annual report, he photographed all our trade show displays at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago over the span of many years, and he photographed men's and women's clothing that was being liquidated. I also recently personally commissioned Gary to shoot original nautical themed artwork for my new lake view dwelling. I have found that Gary listens carefully, and offers constructive feedback, often suggesting creative solutions that weren't readily apparent. He is a true team player who cares about his craft, and is an experienced professional who always delivers high impact and artful photographic images on time and on budget.

We needed photographs of products for our virtual fundraiser. Our social justice group, organizing immigrant workers, created items such as aprons for domestic workers who clean and provide care in private homes. The aprons, bags and buttons all display our logo and are a tool for identity and communication. When I contacted Gary Ward he was enthusiastic about our project and wanted to know specifics to plan his studio and editing work. We provided the products and Gary organized the rest including a culturally appropriate model. Gary’s photos are high quality, professional, provided on time and well received by our community. I will readily contact Gary again for our next photography project and highly recommend his attention to detail and design savvy.

Gary has been photographing performances for the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus for a while now, and he always does an amazing job! He is personable, professional and an extremely talented photographer. Live performance photography is a tough job, and he always gets the greatest, high-quality shots. Highly recommend!

Gary did a fantastic job with my headshots. We had poses in three different outfits to choose from, and he has great skill in getting me to make more flattering expressions than my normal “cringe face.” I was really happy with the final shots and the ease of getting the jpg files I needed.

Anybody can take a quick cell phone snapshot but when I started a business to sell my art glass, I quickly realized that cell phone images did not show glass art very well. Gary Ward has the equipment and knowledge to harness light, shadows and reflections to show art glass well. The images he created will help my business grow and enter art shows. Many thanks to Gary for succeeding in presenting my art works in the best light!

Wow! My first time with a professional photographer. I was nervous, uncomfortable, and anxious. But working with Gary took care of that. He welcomed me into his home, gave me great tips for my pictures, and at the end let me cuddle his dog. Gary is hospitable, professional, and an all around nice guy. Admitedlly, the service was a little pricey. But you get what you pay for. If I need head shots again, I'll be calling Gary. He's worth every cent.

Had the pleasure of meeting G. Thomas Ward Photography at the ChannelCon 2015. Very impressive photographer, they helped me with a professional head shot and wow they are impressive. Normally headshots can take some time to perfect but when dealing with someone as good as G. Thomas Ward it only took a few shots to walk away with a very impressive professional self-portrait. From the prep to the shoot it was seamless and well worth the time. I highly recommend this photographer as many can take great pictures but only a few can deliver them with speed and grace.
