Disappointed Longtime Customer
As a Gold Member of Dick’s Sporting Goods since 2022, I have always been a loyal supporter of the store, but my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed.
During my visit with my husband—who is an off-duty police officer—I noticed a member of the security team following us around the store. This behavior was not only unnecessary but also made us feel like we were being treated as criminals. I was there to shop, as I have for years, and this treatment was both uncomfortable and insulting.
I understand the need for security, but profiling or singling out customers—especially loyal ones—is unacceptable. The fact that my husband, a law enforcement professional, was with me only highlights how inappropriate this behavior was. This experience has left a sour taste, and I’m seriously reconsidering my continued patronage of Dick’s Sporting Goods.
I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and provides better training to ensure all customers are treated with respect and dignity.

In search of football pads that showed in stock at this location. Tried calling up there to verify and no one answered. Drove 1 hour each way because it showed in stock and curbside pickup available and when we got there, they were not available. Everyone was friendly but made no effort to make up for the lost time, tolls, and gas for our wasted trip since their inventory wasnt accurate. We have to order them online and hope they get here in time, a coupon or something would have been nice.

My family and I had a great experience at the Dick’s Sporting Goods located at the Chicago Ridge Mall. The sales associates were warm and welcoming, and the facility was clean. With the associates help, my daughter was able to choose the perfect padding for volleyball. Thank you!

It’s all foreign knock off fake merchandise sold at retail prices. Only shop here if you’re new to America & don’t know what a real mall is…. Or used to be I should say.

Honestly all of these bad reviews are ridiculous. If you ever seen how busy this store can get then you would be considerate with the waiting time. There’s a kiosk there to tell you if a shoe you want is in stock instead of standing around waiting for a clearly busy employee. I have personally watched EJ and Justin hustle during their shifts while still giving quality customer service. To be mad about a wait time when an employee is trying their hardest to service everyone in a timely manner is nonsense. The time you spent writing a bad review could’ve been using searching for the item you so desperately needed online. Footwear is also always the cleanest and well kept department.

I went into DSG to purchase new basketball shoes for my son. Justin and EJ are always there to provide assistance as we are there frequently to make purchases for sports and everyday comfort in footwear. On this particular day footwear was swamped which is not a surprise as this is one of the better DSG’s in the area. We saw a few shoes for basketball and requested sizes, being that the store was busy it took a few moments as many customers would swarm the associates for shoes and sizes. Being understanding we waited our turn to receive the shoes requested and tried them on. Great recommendations were made by Justin to assist in our decision. Despite the impatient and rude customers in footwear this day both Justin and EJ were professional and moved swiftly to fulfill the numerous request. Definitely recommend this store for shopping.

Horrible experience!! Waited at register for 22 minutes while Justin never came back with shoe until I complained to manager Pablo several times. Upon making my complaint to Pablo, Marylin a cashier broke out in laughter in regards to my frustration. After several minutes later Justin finished helping other customers and stated he did not have the shoe!!!There are plenty of sport stores in the mall for a reason, don’t waste your time or money here!!
