So glad I stumbled upon this place. Incredibly reasonable pricing on par with, and often beating, big box stores but with super knowledgeable and honest, transparent staff. As someone who was looking to graduate from the more "intro" gear that I had, these guys really helped me to understand where I was in my journey and why I wasn't where I wanted to be. Traded in some gear and dramatically upgraded with their guidance (and not draining my bank account). Hard to imagine that I will go anywhere else for HiFi needs as long as I live in Chicago.

Needed to downsize my system before moving and dB Audio allowed me to bring in my existing speakers and transfer trade credit a new purchase seamlessly same-day. Very generous trade policy as well, hope to do business with them again!

I could not be happier with my purchase of a pricey, used amplifier from Decibel Audio. I found this item on a known audio marketplace site (perhaps you’re considering the same) and I must admit I was a bit nervous about the large online purchase, but salesperson Grant put me at ease with his down-to-earth manner. They were professional and helpful throughout the process. The amp arrived quickly via UPS in great condition as described. I love it! Thank you DA.

Stopped in today as I was looking to upgrade my turntable. The guys working there were super friendly and very helpful. I know enough about hi-fi systems to be a little bit dangerous but I'm no expert. I kind of expect to encounter a certain degree of snobbery in a place like this but, rest assured, it was nonexistent here. Their selection was insane and I left with a really nice Rega P3 turntable. Very happy with the experience and if I need anything in the future, I'll definitely check Decibel first.

Outstanding service and superb products. A very helpful worker at the shop named Grant assisted me for over two hours in picking out the right setup for my home audio, and I can’t thank him more for his patience and guidance throughout the evaluation process. At closing time Alex opened the door and provided me with some a list of repair folks for turntables. The customer service stood out, along with all the marvelous and quality equipment they had. Next time I need some audio equipment I’m coming to deciBel!

Decibel is amazing. All of their used gear is refurbished and comes with a 6 month warranty. I purchased a vintage receiver here in January. I took it home and hooked it up to my system, but was getting some noise in my speakers. I went in for help and they took the time to find out what components I have in the system. They helped me identify the problem and explained how I needed to hook it up correctly.

My amplifier stopped working and they cleaned it and replaced some tubes within 72 hrs. Great service. They repair products that have been purchased there only, FYI. But they have a great selection of speakers and audio equipment.

Knowledgeable and passionate employees. Great prices on new and vintage gear.Got in contact with Tucker on Monday and left the store Tuesday with a new system. Amp, Tuner, Record Player, Speakers, and speaker wire. All at a very fair price! Tucker took the time to explain all of my options at my budget and was extremely helpful. Brandon assisted me in getting all of the equipment to my car and that was also very much appreciated. Can’t wait to return when it is time to upgrade again!

I went to Decibel to pick up a Dual 1229 turntable. Long story short, the unit wasn't ready to leave the store. It had a number issues that I had addressed at a local stereo repair shop. Decibel worked out a satisfactory resolution. I'm happy with the turntable and happy with the way Decibel handled the situation.

Purchased a beautiful Marantz 18 #5189 and sent in to Stereo Rehab for full service under his recommendation so it worked properly. Returned for noise during his warranty period my many emails sent went unreturned. Found it for sale on db stores ebay page for $1500 after much disgust and place was less than cooperative just like Caspar but I was able to have the ad removed as it was proven to be mine but had to hire a lawyer now with their shady practices dragging this nightmare along for 2 years now. Buyer beware.
